King, since you've not left quite yet, I'm curious about the design of the eye in the robot.  It's rather similar to what Alan Foreman did for Sticks in SSDD.  Was that intentional, co-incidence or did you both steal the idea from the same place?

I added the crosshair on the eyes on a whim during the prelim sketch because the face looked empty. I dont remember, I think it was either Ghost in the Shell or Gundam Wing (Or Gundam SEED when Kira/Athrun uses the Matchlock system] where there was a scene of someone taking aim and the crosshairs were reflecting on the eye (or was it a visor?) that inspired me for the eye design.

SSDD (Warning, rated MA for sex and violence)  was my favourite online strip before I found DMFA.  One of the characters, 'Sticks' is a sort of android grey fox, originally built as some kind of advanced sex toy* but later illegally modified to remove the constraints preventing him from becoming sentient.

Yeah, just try not to read it all in one gulp like I did.  It gave me very strange dreams for about a week afterwards..

My favourite bits are where the normally placid Sticks goes berserk and rescues Tessa, and the sub-plot involving Chris and his advanced intelligent database engine which no-one can understand when he dies (the bit with the urn of ashes is brilliant).

But yeah, I've always had a soft spot for robot animals in general...

Tapewolf: I still enjoy the SRBM flash short. Poor Wales. I stopped reading at some point. I enjoyed the plotless random stuff more than the story.

This is an old pic, I was musing on making an elder version of Meg. Im not sure of what to make of her so I did many variations, this is the first one. I gave her skimpier clothes to show off that she grew third sets of stripes all over.

Pretty generic as far as costumes go, but practically easy to draw especially when Im drawing action shots.

Kin The scholar.

He was just supposed to be a chemist or big brains of the three, but I decided to put some folded throwing knives in his arm bands. That sash he wears is the RPG standard Bag of Holding, where he pulls out whatever if I get stuck on his story.

This was the easiest design of the three, Im changing the staff though as it looks too ornate. Im trying to make them look simpler.

New character!

Not really.

Actually, this is old, he's the porcupine I used in the old pic back in the old board. Sevelli, Knight Captain of the Kingdom of Aurelius. Also known as the "Silver Guard." This is his normal workclothes, he always wears a coat made of dragon hide to keep his quills in check. I'm not big for characters with facial hair but I adore drawing his sideburns and chin hair.

Mephitis v. Meg!

Meg has the short end of the stick in this match up. Meph's frame is coated to resist magic based attacks, Meg will have to rely on her experience with explosives to keep the mechanical skunk at bay.
