Star Control 2

It's too bad that from what i  hear SC3 didn't turn out so well... anyways, time for me to rant on one of the greatest games, ever. Imagine an addictive acrade game I.E. galiga. now imagine that you have a game with a huge open world to explore, I.E. oblivion, then imagine that you have a game with a huge in depth back story full of witty conversation and the ability to choose your course of action, I.E. Star Wars Galaxies. Then take said games, throw them into a blender along with a large helping of DOSbox and ta da, you get a star control smoothie. There is a learning curve, where you figure out the controls of the game, but you could read the manual, or like me take 20 minutes to figure our how everything works. You'll want to spend a while in the beginning gathering resources, this can seem tedious but the more you upgrade your ship the easier it becomes. Always listen to what everyone has to say, it is one of the most entertaining portions of the game and will give you helpful hints to the various puzzles of the game. Sadly, like many great games, there is a time limit. About 4 (game time) years or so. I don't want to give away too much of the backstory because some people hate spoilers. Remember to save a lot in the begining of the game. It can be so disappointing when you are traveling back after a successful resource gathering mission only to be destroyed by one of those freaking annoying sylandro probes (though later in the game they're basically free RU) and before mining a dangerous planet. Landers are precious oh so precious, always at least carry two. One annoying thing is i usually have to use cyborg because i'm not very good ant the ship battles, but that's me. I haven't gotten very far, but this game is better than super mario RPG. That's saying something in my opinion.

Star Control 2 was one of the first PC games I have played, and even now I play it from time to time. I love almost everything about it. The only thing I have problems with is the combat controls, but these are my problems, not the game's.

did someone say, page load error? I haven't gotten very far in the game. The ilwrath and the spathi are gone, and i upgraded my ship for full engines and turning and make allies with the pkunk.

ZEX ilu so hard <3 Outside of my blatant fagirling, I love this game. I'm horrible at combat though, and i really prefer bothering the Slylandro and the Spathi and gathering resources to combat. Because I die from flying into planets and asteroids way too often. >_>
