I had forgotten, somehow, that Lorenda is thoroughly embarrassed by how immature her mother can act.
How she acts may be more the product of no longer caring what anyone thinks of her. For two reasons; her life-span's to long to worry about that, and she's to powerful for anyone to give her a real problem with it.
