Why hello there. I don't post much on the forum, and nobody really knows me. First, no I am not a cheaply made Yugoslavian car. Just thought I'd get that out of the way.
I am generally a somewhat bouncy off the wall person, although I haven't really posted often enough to get that across. I'm currently a music major attending college, planning on transferring to the University of British Columbia from here (and therfore out of the US), next year. I play the electric bass, both fretted and fretless, and I loves them both. I've got a fair amount of interest in most musical styles, but my idols are Michael Manring, Jeff Schmidt, and Victor Wooten. I highly recommend you check them out on Youtube. (plug) I've just recently started actually cooking, thanks to my grandmother in most part. (Mmm, salmon.) I'll be sure to bring her butterscotch-coconut cookies to AC this year.

So that's it I guess. Rawr! -glomps nearest thing-

Victor Wooten.

Why hallo dere.  This guy is quite amazing.  Bella Fleck and the Flecktones also crank out some wicked bass iirc.  I used to play electric bass but I found I wasn't so good at anything other then the crappy punk me and my friends at the time were churning out (oh early 90's, I miss you).  These days I just slap away at my now badly warped bass and just relive the band days every now and then. (read:  once every two or three months)

Nobody's good when they start out! You've gotta practice and work on it. :P

Some people are good when they start out.  Like those 5 and 6 year old drummers that kick more ass than ones who have been playing longer than the kids have been alive.

I play bass, too, but mostly classic rock, not any of that new stuff.

Flea is the best player out there.[/plug]

I played through 92~96... those four years were enough to convince me that I was bad.  Even with lessons I might add.

I wouldn't say best.. but he is damn good.  Without question.

Anywho, Flea's pretty good at his slap-fu.  But I certainly wouldn't say he's the best. He's more like side-by-side with guys like Claypool and Mark King.

Also, Classical Thump. (/otherplug)
