Well, I'm glad to here that you're feeling better, Amber. And thanks for the great guest comic Zina!

Let's continue the song, shall we?

"As a Cubi oh yes I'm intimidating!"
"My what a guy, that Daniel!"

(Wait, is this actually Sunday's update... so should it be 07/27 at the top of the thread? Ah man, that was stupid of me...)

"No one can brandish a spork like Daniel?"

Cute comic, Zina.  My favorite line from that song (not in the movie, unfortunately): "No one makes up these endless refrains like Gaston!"

Glad you're getting better, Amber!   :boogie

Ren's not here to do this, so I guess I'll have to.

Do you think Dan's good at expectorating? :B

EDIT: I'm dead for doing this, right?

kellyn: it's like being a secret agent, outside we look perfectly normal. no giant metal faces or tattooed eyes or mohawks. BUT. SECRETLY. DRAWING RAINBOW MONSTERS AND ROOOOLE PLAAAAAYING oh the shame oh the humanity, and man i know so many more cool people now wtf is that

Pagan

I believe I am missing the greater part of this joke...
After a long time, some things change. Some things don't. And I still love Regina!

VSMIT

It's not really an inside joke, more of an outside, inside joke.  You'd have had to have seen "Beauty and the Beast" to truly appreciate it.

It's a reference to the song "Gaston" from Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

Ah yes, I missed that one. Still, thank you to Zina and best wishes, Amber.

Dear god, it's been so long since I've watched a Disney movie.

The end panel for this comic rocks!

with dan literature probably ends with swords monthly, chainmaile chicks swimsuit issue, and the adventurers guide to beating things senseless
Some will fall in love with life,
and drink it from a fountain;
that is pouring like an avalanche,
coming down the mountain.

Bravo! I find it quite humorius I reconize a few things in this guest comic..Ah Lumière, Charming french bastard |3

Hmm. How do you read this, there's no pictures? ;-]

I've long been impressed at the reference to pornography that Disney snuck into this one.

Hehe, good one. And it's funny even when you don't recognize the song (because while I've seen the film, I'd forgotten all about it). Also, nice visual takes on Dan and Mab there.

Angel

:3 I recognized it in a heartbeat. I was a townsperson/dancing knife in the school play. But I never got to be in the Gaston dance, 'cause I missed too many of the rehearsals during a vacation. It looked fun, though - they did this hand jive with mugs.

Anyways. Awesome comic. :)

Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain,
And the itsy-bitsy spider went up the spout again...
BANDWAGON JUMP!

Lucheek

I got the refrenced second line of the comic. Very funny!

llearch n'n'daCorna

Oh, yes. I'd expect Dan's response to be "aha! A challenge!"

.. and then drink everyone in the bar under the table...

I don't know if Mab's right in this one, Dan might just be the most ardent drinker of ale there is, but who can blame him? I mean, it's full of necessary vitamins and nutrients.

So, I gather  this guest comic is in place of Abel rather than just an extra comic?

Zina's art is made out of marshmallows and candy floss.

Noooo oooonnee... Sporks like Daniel!
Drops his shorts like Daniel!
...

Uhm... no... Try again.

Noooo oooonnee... Can impress like Daniel!
Can Cross-Dress like Daniel!
...

Dangit, that won't go over well at the Adventurer's Guild either...

(Musings of Daniel's Balladeer, after a bad  day and too much ale.)
Which would you like to be, ignorant or misled?

Brilliant for a bad day, Sir Balladeer. :D

Jairus

When I was a lad I drank four dozen ales every morning to help me get large!
And now that I'm grown I drink five dozen ales, so I'm roughly the size of a BARGE!

...

Frankly, now that I think about it, I'm amazed that Gaston can even rhyme. Then again, it is a musical...

Perhaps it was inadvertant? I mean, maybe he wasn't going for a rhyme.

AmigaDragon

I suppose inadvertent is better than uncontrollable. In Xanth, ogres can't talk without rhyming.

Oh Gods. D:  I would hate to be stuck in ogre lands.

...though I suppose... that kind of goes whether the ogres speak in verse or not. :\

Oh man, it's been far too long since I saw Beauty and the Beast.

in xanth books ogres are likely to just smash you because its too hard to think of rhymes, which is probably a good thing.
