Ever hear the phrase 'not for all the tea in china'?

lost some of its meaning, but when the phrase was coined back in england tea was a very precious commodity and all the tea in china was enough coinage you would need a building just to keep all your money in. saying you would not do something for even that much was quite impressive

lets wrack our brains and think of more up to date versions, share one with us

To be honest, the first thing that popped into my head when I was reading the thread title was actually "Not for all the money in the world." Which I believe may actually be from a song in My Fair Lady.

In my opinion, this is actually a fairly accurate turn-of-phrase to use.

Personally... not for all the cheese in Switzerland.
or France, but then you can say "cheese and wine".

*thinks*

Not for all the music in the Royal Conservatory.

As I understand it, this is correct

which is why your dollars are currently worth more than ours.

I kinda liked the "Not for all the chips in Vegas" one.

It is my understanding that your answer is wrong in every important respect.  Both Canada and the US have fiat currency, representative money isn't immune to inflation, and The United States Bullion Depository Fort Knox, Kentucky holds 147.3 million ounces of gold.

Not for all the time I spent looking that up?
