Stupid bastards couldn't create a "best games list" if their lives depended on it. Mega Man 2 should have made it on. the best in the series.  You agree don't you desty.

Darkmoon

There's a gaping hole there not having LttP on there. That have Wind Waker and Majora's Mask, but no LttP? The fuck?

ilpalazzo

Actually, it's number 4.

Darkmoon

Now I feel like I tard. I didn't see it, just the N64 ones.

Bloodreign

Final Fantasy VII as #1 eh..... only at GameFAQ's.  :zombiekun

Well since the movie is out in japan and available on limewire, kazaa, etc. people are getting into the game again that's prolly why it's number one right now.
Mirror, mirror, on the wall, whose to say who I really am at all?

As much as I think Final Fantasy VII is overrated, I can understand users placing it at #1.  On the other hand, I still cannot fathom how one of the most popular, recognizable, and long running series that has spawned both sequels and subseries is completely ignored.

Between this and the summer contest semi-finals (I still don't see how so many people picked Crono), I'm beginning to think there's a bias against Mega Man among GameFAQs users.  Maybe I'm reading too far into it, but it worries me.  Life without the robot in blue?  What am I to do?

The biggest problem is that GameFAQs is the biggest CHEATING site for people.  You go to GameFAQs to look for a FAQ... a way to read 'how to' do something in a game.

It's a Fact that the bigger the game, and the more complex a game is, the more questions in brings up, ergo bigger FAQs.

It's also a Fact that RPGs are bigger games than action platformers.  As such, GameFAQs visitors are often people stuck in an RPG.  Statistically, people get stuck at an RPG moreso than any other Genre.  Mega Man is an Action-Platform genre, unless you're talking Adventure, such as the Zero series, or Battle Network (notice that the MMBN FAQs are generally a lot larger than, say, Mega Man III FAQs).

As such, it can be deduced that the people voting those contest are more familiar or know a lot more about RPGs than other Genres... and quite possibly play ONLY RPGs (or play those the most).  Because of this, any RPG is automatically more 'popular' at that website than an Action-Platform.

That's why Mega Man is an absentee from that list.  It's also why the quickest series genre (Shoot 'em Ups, such as Gradius and R-Type) will ALWAYS be absent from that list, even if the games are great.  People who need help with a Shooter will probably not go to GameFAQs nearly as much as people who need help with an RPG.

It's a Biased report.

Thanks. I was sick of being the one who said that.

Darkmoon

It was a well rasoned post. I tend to agree with that statement.
