Paragator and Red Dwarf 7?

I've just been watching season 7 of Red Dwarf and one of the characters in a mini-spoof jumped out of a german plane using an aligator as a parachute, The aligator then ate the  pilot (who had the parachute).

I'm just wondering if the DMFA paragator was based off this?

The spambot was taken care of quite some time ago. The messages remain, because the mods don't want to pry into private messages (I think). Just delete the thing, and forget you ever recieved it.
