Well truth be, the way I tend to do cameos is I go through the notes of what is happening in the comic and then try to nudge or modify or expand on an area that is fitting for the cameo appearance. So odds are had Merlin won and had wanted Daryl in, he wouldn't have shown up at this particular spot but in another area. (Probably Piflak's party to be honest)
