King Of Hearts

I figured Im not the only one playing this right now.

Just got the the game yesterday... Im currently at 75% completion of the game. Plot's extremely simple in keeping with most Castlevania games, so Im not gonna say more about that save for the fact that its nice to have another female Castlevania lead aside from Maria.

I thought it started pretty hard... for the most part the bosses had simple patterns, but the margin of error is rather limited as you'll get punished quite a bit from deviating from the safe pattern. Though as you progress and your armory increases the difficulty somewhat dwindles... but the last 25% of the game may yet prove me wrong. And speaking of the bosses... Maybe Im alone on this but I think they have been becoming less and less... inspired in design... back in SOTN, things like Galamoth, Scylla and Beelzebub were truly terrifying, and now we get... giant enemy crabs.

All in all, For me, it stands pretty even with all its side scrolling brethren... but really does nothing to separate itself from them. Even the fact that the first half of the game doesn't take place inside the castle doesn't make it as refreshing as I thought it would.

Interesting.... Do you have to attack their weak points for massive damage?

Right, uh, relevant conversation...... I haven't played the game, but I'm currently tackling a used copy of Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. Hopefully somebody around here has played the game and can bring more to this thread.

I've been looking at this one, would you say its fun? or better than PoR?

King Of Hearts

Well, pretty much finished everything that I can in the game, even the Cave ordeals is a minor distraction during the replays. The rest of the bosses remain rather easy... save for that giant armored centaur, now THAT was a good fight.

I wasnt able to finish CoD, it was nice but Lament of Innocence was enough 3D Castlevania for me... maybe I'll play it again if i can find my old PS2 Mem Card.

OoE is fun, but personally... Id put PoR over OoE in terms of overall gameplay especially the alt mode.
