Awesome. Now I have to ask myself, Did Amber ever read "Against A Dark Background" by Iain M Banks?
Neato :D
Hehehehehe.
I note the lovely blood trail down Aliyka's arm, which is extremely well drawn, and Dan's black eye, which should show up wonderfully later... ;-]
... And Hannah's arm isn't actually attached.
Aah yes, decapitated corpse talking and going about it's own business. nothing to worry about. :)
The ringing in Sharrow's ears was fading and she was feeling a little stronger and less groggy. She was able to focus on what was moving across the stone table. ****ing Fate, it was the android's hand!
The forearm, the one that had been chopped off by the same stroke that had beheaded it. The arm had fallen to the table and that was where it was now, crawling over the surface very slowly and quietly, using its fingers.
She felt her eyes go wide and tried to turn the movement into what she hoped looked like another attempt to clear her head.
Gods, the arm was heading for the Lazy Gun. She stared at Geis and smiled inanely.
"...well, but in a way you might be rather proud of, even if it was never a way you could have imagined."
She looked for Feril's head. It wasn't under the table where it had fallen. Its body wasn't lying in separate pieces on the floor, either. Then she saw it: both halves of the body were propped against what looked like a giant electrical junction box. The head, Feril's head, had been set on an end-post of the weapons rack. From where it was perched it had had a perfectly good view of the Lazy Gun and the hand was now less than a metre from the Gun's open trigger mechanism. Geis was still talking.
--Against A Dark Background, Chapter 24, Iain M Banks
It's probably a coincidence. Even if that was where she got the idea from, it doesn't detract from how awesome the scene is.

This whole thing is just so deliciously awesomely macabre. And funny. :boogie
OK... So Aliyka was winning... Fork. >:[ I guess she is some kind of a berserker. But her face in the second panel makes up for that. Dan's face in the next panel, however, is even better. Seriously, what is wrong with him there?? And hurray for Hannah! :cvsoul (That's supposed to be fireworks. :3) I wonder why only her left arm an leg (not counting her head) were removed.
I bet Dark P wanted to make himself a nice dinner! >:3Quote from: Lone_Wolf on May 16, 2008, 08:28:00 PM

Yeah, that's perfectly normal. I'm used to that kind of stuff. Where's my medkit - nothing beats sewing an undead person's removed limbs back on, after all.
:erk :U
really was not expecting that!
*Alondro* The horror... the horror... :erk

*Charline* Cool! The advantages of being modular! She's like a Lego person! :3

Just like I said - she is a berserker. :3
Nice aim, Hannah, especially when you can't see your hands and the target, either that or a lucky shot.
As for the partial dismemberment, maybe DP didn't realize she was a zombie until after the first arm and leg (not bleeding), whether he was hungry or not. If he was after a meal, I would think zombie flesh is usually avoided by the living. Beheading would keep her out of trouble until he could get back to finish the job.

Or that she has spells to see past the visible spectrum and/or for object detection..
For some random reason I think that the dismemberment is for transportation efficiency (cue briefcase)...
Hmmm...I wonder how I would've reacted if I weren't an active forumist...
That and why didn't she move while Dan was taking her down?
Possibly because she's still drained of magic? (we don't know exactly how her body's being controlled)

does seem to rise from the grave often enough....
either a dismantled undead body is performing magic, or some cubi has a wicked sense of humor

Does Dan ever use his wings? For attack? push off floor? balance? to wrap? grapple combo?

If she was still drained of magic, she wouldn't be able to put Aliyka to sleep. Whatever drained or blocked her magic when they were captured is obviously wearing off. As for not moving when Dan was taking her down, maybe she was resting a bit or considering how strangers (to the zombie condition) would react. Attacking when she did was likely to expedite her reassembly (fights delay things) so they could go rescue her friends.

Remember, this is Dan's first encounter with DP, so I think it's likely he's living. As for later confrontations, there's a difference between undead and resurrected (assuming he was killed at the conclusion of each encounter).
Woo kinky... I imagine being able to do such thing can be very useful.
as for DP being undead of not, he wouldn't be the first villain around to die and get back multiple times. the same applies to a lot of fighting game bosses

Delicious torso, you must hit it.
Well, Amber never did say which powerful demon created the undead race, did she? Maybe it's a hint!
for not trying to hurt Aliyka, Dan did seem to fare pretty well in defending against her beserker rage.
Though Aliyka might need a few stiches for that arm.
At this point in time, Dan's brain us undergoing an OMGWTFBBQ moment. :blink
:zombiekun2 .............. awkward. if i wass dan id probably run.
I've been feeling somewhat bad about not keeping up with the forums lately (Real life and WoW are consuming my time >.< ) However after finding out that Amber spoiled the 'Hanners is undead bwa hah' post I just found out about I'm glad I wasn't here because I did NOT see that coming and it's hilarious.

Well, he did use them once once for making coffee (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_378.php), but it wasn't intentional.
i can just see her hopping down the hallway, dan holding her head to help her aim, and using the remaining limb as a club
I have noticed a peculiar thing. Hannah is holding her removed arm to launch the spell, rather than the arm that is still attached. Apparently she uses only her left arm to channel magical energy. Which brings a question: does she need to actually hold her arm to launch a spell, or she can launch it even if the arm is lying somewhere, so she needed to hold it only for targeting purposes? While I'm sure that the right answer is the former, the latter opens some comical, albeit morbid, possibilities.
Dan, jumping out from the corner and pointing Hannah's left arm glowing with eerie energies at a bunch of guards: "Drop your weapons! Hands up! >:D"
Guards: "Look out! He's armed! Armed and dangerous!! 'A'"
Nah.
Dan is mostly 'armless.
*cough*
Wait, I have just realized another thing. How can Hannah speak if her head is removed? Does not she need lungs to speak? Then again, imagine the same scene, but with Hannah completely silent! Now that's scary! >:3
Screw Aim, that's wonderful balance. She's standing on one leg, while holding her arm and shooting magic. Geez.
And I'm glad Hannah's "alive". (I didn't read that forum post.) :3

Well, the wings can be used in a fight even without morphing. Fa'Lina's wing was strong enough to throw Dan a couple meters away, for example. (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_589.php)
Fa'Lina yes, but Dan hasn't shown it.
Except for balancing once http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_659.php .

perhaps if the severed arm is the blaster, dan could leave the body behind, carry the head and the arm, aim the arm, and just tell her to blast

It will deliver frozen brains for zombie kids. It won't work in DMFA, though, since there are no zombie kids there.

If you go back through the comics, there were hints that she was undead.
Whenever her eyes were in the dark they would glow yellow, an undead trait.

I realize I forgot to mention it in my original post(caught up in the flashback) but I meant just his normal wings.
So far what I've seen is when he gets shocked/bapped on the head, his wings spread out. Also back when he hand the fae banglets he balanced himself over the pit with his wings.
Okay here's how I see it. Since it would be hard for hanna to fight in an ongoing battle if some one else was carrying her head I think she'd hop into battle with her head under her arm. since her working hand is busy holder her head the severe limb is places stump first into her neck, since they can wedge it down into her wind pipe/esophagus so she can still cast spells.

When you look at close ups of her eyes there is a glow of yellow that looks like it is behind something red-ish.

He doesn't know hes a cubi in the flashback. We've seen him move his wings around as just wing, and when I first saw him against the ground I was thinking, "Why doesn't he just push off with his wings?" which made me think what all he could do with his wings(unshaped). Although I suppose if he did try and fight with them Aliyka would've just countered with her own wings.
(Just like Fa'Lina smacked Dan down with unshaped wings)
