As the title says, what good Space games can you folks reccomend to sate my appetite, so to speak. Anything goes, as long as it's space/sci-fi related.
As for myself, my fav. games are Freelancer, SMAC, Distant Worlds: universe, Freespace 2. (Honorable mention Space engineers and Space engine)
I liked the freely available Wing Commander: Privateer Gemini Gold remake of the original game.
Also Space Empires IV is great.

Freelancer has some pretty good mods. Try Discovery if you haven't already.
