It's suspected that Abel has gradually needed to start eating and sleeping because he doesn't actively feed on emotions in a place that has a lesser concentration of emotions then in the academy.

you know what would be cooler? if it was Dan, Abel, Jyrras, and Devin all in one spot.. we'd get to see Able's brain BSOD when he runs into Devin. :)
