...
So, yeah. Destania sent a letter to Hizell to try to get him to kill Abel. :erk
It's a bit of a jaw dropper to have it almost immediately stated/confirmed that Destania sent the letter, and this (of course) has huge ramifications for the Lost Lake denizens.
We might get to see Macey and Jyrras in Gryph Mechs fighting a dragon sooner than we expected!
Destania sent a letter to Hizell??!! Zezzuva wasn't kidding that Destania had lost it - what was she thinking?!
Also, some rather terrifying wheels are being set in motion - huge, intelligent, teeth-covered wheels... hurry up with those weapons, Jyrras - your friends are going to need them!
Really, the letter does not surprise me at all.
I mean, we know how much she despises Abel. We know she hates dragons in general, so this is a good way of getting rid of Pyroduck. If Mab is involved (does Destania even know about her) all the better.
Best case: Hizell kills Pyroduck, Mab kills Hizell.
Also good case: Pyroduck survives and Mab kills Hizell.
Or: Nobody dies immediately, but this would stirr things up considerably. Both Abel and Pyroduck are close to Fa'Lina. A direct attack on both of them would have consequences.
Consequences she would not have to fear: The chances of anybody finding out that Destania was behind this are very slim. Hizell surely won't talk.
And the timing is right: The one person she cares about is safe at SAIA.
Now, a couple of months back this would have surprised me because Alexsi would also be a target, but we now know how she feels about her relationship to Pyroduck. Anyway: She would have a bigger chance of surviving. She would not be a prime target. Just collateral damage if Hizell opts for the overkill strategy.

There is the very serious risk that Alexsi and/or Pyroduck could reveal Destania's whereabouts under torture.

She may be crazy and driven, but she is not dumb.
I am sure she is monitoring things. She did before.
Besides that: Does Hizell even know about Alexsi's connection with Destania? I have strong doubts about that. Alexsi isn't anywhere on Hizell's radar.
Pyroduck also isn't a prime target either, just a disappointment, maybe deserving to die because he allows himself to be near a Siar child. Does he know Pyroduck knows anything about Destania? Come to think of it: Does Pyroduck know anything about Destania's whereabouts?
No, the risks to Destania are minimal.
Comic 1035: two of Mab's friends will die. Perhaps we're about to see the fulfillment of that prediction?
Okay Destania, we get it, you're evil. You don't need to commit an heinous act every few days or they revoke your membership card.
I do wonder what Cyra will think of all this. Is it possible to kick someone out of a clan? A good time to do it would be if Dan and Matilda have a child, Matilda could convert to clan Cyra*, softening the blow of losing a powerful clan member.
*I think I remember reading that being possible.

Mab has also stated at least once either via twitter or through a Questions From the Readers that she's waffled on that more than once, and that she either might not or won't kill anyone.

Wildy will probably be there when the attack goes down. Biggs will be PISSED when he finds out a dragon attacked Lost Lake with Wildy present.
Biggs is also a Were, so he might try to take Destania down himself. Or maybe he'll get his Twink agents to help him.
Oh, and Hizell might mention that Destania sent the letter as a way to figure out who knows Destania and if they know where she is.
I don't care how much Dee has taken into account the risks. There are way too many things that could go horribly wrong when allowing her worst enemy to get that close to her old residence. Even if Danny boy was the only resident she cared about, Hizell could very easily be alerted to his existence which would mean game over for him.

Indeed. I suspect Destania believes Dan has gone to the Academy for good rather than temporarily.
I wonder if high levels of background magic cause strange things to happen in Furrae. So far Lost lake has a Fae and Dragon in residence, an avatar of a clan leader sitting at the bar, the possible attention of Cyra and at least one spell caster regular.

You know, even if the risks might be minimal, Destania is still taking huge risks on a minimal.
I'd particularly would try to go for the 100% safe method and avoid the enemy that has made it a side hobby of using both political and military methods of wiping out a race. Especially when the one you try to sick on one you don't like happens to be one of the ones he took especially care to wipe out the entire family he belongs too.
Heck, you can already see Destania's plan start to fall apart. Sure, he's thinking about going there to take care of it and not simply destroy the whole area. But he's also being cautious about it and taking his time and making moves of his own.
In case you haven't noticed, Destania isn't being rational about this. That means minor thoughts like "I should carefully consider what might go wrong and try to avoid it" are not entering her head.
Somehow what I assume is that Dee's gonna have a big red fist knocking on the door.

Oh I've noticed.
Though considering who she's dealing with and who she wants him to take care of, I'd say she's slipped even further then that. ;)
Huh. Something else just occurred to me:
We haven't seen the face of the Mythos/Centaur-ish woman that is Hizell's servant.
I wonder if she's been seen before, or if we already met her sisters somewhere.
I wonder if her Sisters are Amazons who allied with Hizell/the Dragons.
Things might get VERY crazy and messy VERY fast.
Ah, heck. Who am I kidding? They're already crazy and messy in the first place, so we're gonna see a hurricane of colliding Gambits, Plans, and Spanners in the Works! It will be glorious!
I wonder if Dee actully didn't know/forgot about Mab.
Perhaps she assumed Mab would get bored and be long gone by now
maybe she thought Mab would agree and feel that dropping a dragon on Mr grumpy pants Abel would be a good thing

Wait, what? So Biggs isn't a were anymore either? :<
He never was, that was a bit of speculation on my part that spread (also on a few others parts)
Also, there's a figure of some kind in that crystal in the last panel. I don't reconize it off hand.

I think it's a slightly distorted image of Abel. Remember his pose from http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_1448.php? It's flipped around so you're seeing him from the front.

To be honest, it had so far penetrated fanon, I'd thought until reading that Tweet it was just a matter of time, but apparently not. At least, it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense for Biggs to be and not Wildy.
No where does it say Biggs isn't. Just that Wildly isn't. Unless you guys have something else that says it.
The "facts" backing up that Biggs is a were is that a shadow silhouette of a human-like person is seen in (I think it's called) the Creature Council (correct me if I'm wrong, I can't keep track of the names of everything). This human-like person has the same hair style of Biggs.
As for how Biggs could be a were and Wildly not...well, it seems to me at this point, not all siblings have to share features.
Nonono, Were isn't just some genetic trait, its a species. Theorizing that it 'skipped a generation' for Wildy would be like assuming Lorenda isn't a demon because she has hummingbird wings.
As for the 'facts' it should be mentioned that Biggs' hairstyle http://www.missmab.com/Cast/biggs.php is identical to that of the one known Were on record, Hahwru http://www.missmab.com/Demo/were.php
Given the fact that most were choose to remain hidden and in seclusion, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that the leader of one of the few openly were groups would be on the creature council.

except "To this date there isn't even a Were on the Creature-Being council." means its probably neither Biggs nor Hahwru. or at least it means that either biggs isn't a were or just not on record as one. if it's him on the council anyways.
That's not the Creature-Being Council. There's the obvious fact that they call themselves the "Council of Creatures" (insert Life of Brian joke here), but there's a stronger reason to think they're two different bodies: the Demonology pages are written not from an external viewpoint, but from that of a well-read Being, as is clear from a number of discrepancies with the main strip, most obviously questioning the existence of tri-wing Cubi. Given the secrecy with which that council operates, the "author" of the Demonology pages would be unlikely to know of it, and even if they did, certainly wouldn't know which races were and weren't represented.
Even if Biggs isn't a Were (Which, I admit, he might or might not be), Destania's on the road of no return by sending Hizell to Lost Lake to kill Abel.

Why do I have the strangest feeling the figure in the orb is a Mow? :mowsmile
It would make perfect twisted fae sense for a "random" mow to be blocking the view of that particular orb at a very important time...
