Title: Commercially avalible Real Drivable Mecha's
Post by: thegayhare on June 26, 2013, 02:48:21 PM
It's real, and god dam do I want one

(http://i689.photobucket.com/albums/vv256/TheGayHare/9377220102_zps8f3bf8df.jpg) (http://s689.photobucket.com/user/TheGayHare/media/9377220102_zps8f3bf8df.jpg.html)

Its called the Kuratas
It's 4 tons, and 13 feet tall, and the current model has Gatling guns that fire bbs (I'd have gone with paint balls myself)

Its top speed is just over 6 miles an hour though and even it's creator says it really has no real world applications

The starting price is 1.3 million however and thats just for the basic model, weapons, cockpit optional extra's all cost more  but you can get it in almost limitless color schemes

Order now on there website

Hot damn do I want one.   Just think how cool it would be to roll around in that.   slow as hell but I'd take it.

sadly its only equipped with nerf level weaponry, but at least its not a chicken walker

however would it be a better use of money to get a hover bike? fifty thousand ameros can get you 170 miles per hour hovering action

apperantly they called 'dibs' real early on the website

I dunno. Being able to respond to road rage with a hail of bb's is comforting. ;-]

I still think paint balls would be the way to go.

I just wish I could find out what the avalible hand gun and rocket tubes would fire (they better shoot something for 70 and 100 thousand dollars)

Hmmm hoverbike is cool but as a clumsy man I don't think I should be operating something that moves that fast or isn't connected to the ground

not even if you had a batman riding suit?

runs about fifteen hundred for the full set

the paintball idea gives me an even better idea- buy the robot, equip with the paintball guns, and get yourself a large paintball arena kinda thing. it is now an attraction, people come in teams to try and assult the paintball robot with small weak points

I don't think they make those batman suits in my size.

But I like the Paintball Idea.  I had a similar one a big indoor paintball battle fields with an attached cafe and pro shop with a plexiglass wall connected to battle sites. monitors attached to ceiling mounted cameras so you can see all the battles  adding the robot would be freaking cool

make the arena art deco themed, steampunk the robot a little bit, and with the proper music itll be live action bioshock

What's it run on, and how long for? I'm thinking Ripley's situation in Aliens, rather than anything else...

Ohhh that looks cool It would be a better alternative for the paint ball idea.

Ad a plexiglass cockpit bubble and some automated guns and it could be a passable APU like in the matrix

to bad its kiddie sized and I dont think it's actually a walker it looks more like a shuffler

Edit:

Okay from what I've found it's a wheeled robot it rolls and the feet shuffle to make it look like a walker.   plus I'm not sure the arms actually work none of the videos I found show them moving

This one shows the arms of a diffent designed bot from the company  I like this design better

and here is the company
