I seem to remember in some games that the bad guy would gradually change color as you wailed on them.
Maybe Franky was getting his blood soaked into his clothes or maybe he had stylish threads back then that changed colors. Maybe when Alec gets back, he'll owe Franky some new threads instead of Franky owing Alec that drink.
Strictly speaking, it's just an older outfit. I modeled it after Frankie in Haunted Castle (thus the little chains on his wrists), and went with a more "old school" color palette.

I think you misunderstood me. What I meant was that he is with the blue outfit, grayish skin tone and chains in the comic #1943 and back to his green skin, purple jacket and no chains in the #1946.
