That easy?
Considering the nature of a tri-wing transformation, I'd think a triwing would be unaffected by those bracers. Their bodies are composed of more magic then a standard flesh matter they use to be.
Though I will say this, the element of surprise sure works well for this group.
I am an all powerful Tri Wing! Nothing can compete with my-
Wait, what are you doing? Stop... no, using the bracers are CHEATING! NO!
Yeah, I do dig Jakob's hair.

I am tempted to make that his default look for a while...
Blue highlights does him justice.
Is he slowly turning a shade of blue, or is this a prank from Daryil?
I hope he's actually turning blue.

Actually the original idea was that he was blue in panel 2, and was slowly clearing it out. I didn't actually like the all-blue hair, it looked like he was wearing a cap or something.
(And no, it was either a whim or a joke or something)
Here's the first panel without the teleport effects:

Ohhhh. Okay, I see it now. Here I was, getting all excited. :< WELL I hope it never goes away, the highlights, as I actually do like them. Black on blue is always nice.
Also, I just keep staring at Keaton's impression of Bruce Wayne in that panel and laughing.

"It's Japanese. I bought it in Japan." ;-]
(and no, I'm not following you around - you just make interesting conversation. Go figure...)
This may be a bit far-fetched, but the whole scene and especially the technologically armed, apparently anti-magical attackers somehow remind me of the Equalist Qi-blockers from Avatar: Legend of Korra. Probably pure coincidence, though.

Mhmm, Tim Burton directed that movie quite well. Probably one of my favorite Batman movies.
