I just received my wonderful new Carvin LB76 in the mail about a week ago, and I now actually have my equipment back from my brother, so I'd figure I'd start a new music thread.
The bass in question:
It's all-mahogany with neck through construction and gold plated hardware. It has an onboard preamp with 2-band EQ, and the pickups are stacked humbuckers. The fingerboard is ebony.
And here is a quick demo (http://soundcloud.com/jacobjohnsonbass/quicktest#)
The high bell-like tones are false harmonics. EQ is set flat, both pickups full, and there is a small amount of reverb.
Look forward to seeing more!
Nice. Bass is something I've often wondered about learning, though if my skill at keyboards is anything to go by, it's going to take decades before I'm good enough to actually make use of it.
I was tripping out when I was looking at that photo, until I realized the photo itself was on it's side, that is.
