Well, totally unexpected. At least we won't have to worry about any mind swapping...
Edit: Fixed your subject.

Wow, problem solved. Works out better though, I bet his calculations might have been a bit off in that state.
Always make sure that the power is off before you gnaw on a computer.
And never gnaw an unwilling person while they're awake.
Abel sure seems to be passive around Jyrras in the last few pages. Obviously, he knows he shouldn't have broken into his house. Maybe Jyrras' mental state has got him worried, even a little scared. It's just strange seeing Abel not his usual confident self.
I think that both the Adventurer's Guild and Cubi Academy have a similar attitude towards dealing with problems: (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_507.php) shoot it, salute it, or pick it up. Abel's uncertainty is probably because he doesn't know how to deal with friends.
Now is the time to take a page from Scooby and the gang and start snooping around. :batman
Robot and gum sisters, a lab that created the cutest scourge in all of Furrae, and a trip to Wonka's lovely candy forest. Yep sounds like we have another mystery on are hands gang. Will Abel resist the urge to snoop? :U
Mab: "I would have gotten away with it. If it wasn't for that snooping cubi."
Well, Abel can still explore Jyrras' mental state. The mental state of a brilliant but severely confused and sleep-deprived roo-rat who was expecting to be conducting an experiment at the moment he fell into unconsciousness, and might not know he's asleep... I don't know whether Abel would want to go in there, actually.
Great now we don't have to worry about mind swapping. I wanted to see more Cubi-Jyrras or Jyrras as a real Cubi. Imagine all the work he could get done if he was a cubi, especially with no need for inconvenient sleep.
Abel is acting... LIKE A FRIEND!!! must be difficult for him.
Oh and Amber, don't gnaw on computers. They may shock back or worse... delete all your important saved files and works.

It's also possible that Jyrras' state of mind is being picked up and reflected in Abel's state of mind. Around Dan, Abel is a more outgoing and playful and melon-on-the-head type person. Around Alexsi, he's more responsible and work-oriented. Around Jy-jy, he's more sensitive and cautious...
See a pattern?

IIRC Amber did at one point say that inexperienced 'Cubi tend to experience the emotions they're consuming. Abel has spent a lot of time studying, but he's been a loner for much of that time and this might be just the sort of thing that separates real-world experience from academia. (That and he seems to prefer eating physical food.)

More like "Complete exhaustion saves the day again" I think. Well, good for him, still :)

Exactly my thoughts. Or maybe Jyrras did gain some respect from Abel in their previous encounters, even though Abel didn't let him now...? Maybe even... naaah... :D

Now that's an interesting thought. Though then again, if Jyrras is already mad like that while (mostly) awake, do we really want to know what kind of dreams he has? (Yes, of course we want)
However it's interesting that Abel is still wearing that tinfoil hat. I'm keen to know if that will somehow interfere with Abel's dream travelling abilities or maybe at least give Jyrras something to analyze when he is back to some less mad state.

As if anyone at all is going to complain if we get to laugh at Jyrras as Dorothy again.
... Are you suggesting Abel is going to play dress-up with Jyrras?

...Maybe Abel is experiencing what he never thought he would... mutual feelings of attraction! Jyrras seems to be the only character to whom Abel has been this nice.

An interesting thought, but didn't Abel put a mindshield on Jyrras ?
Wouldn't that prevent him from accidentally snacking on Jyrras ?
If Abel installed the mind shield, he might be able to remove it.

Mind-shield spells expire, he's already had to renew it once. Also, Amber has suggested that a mind-shield spell doesn't block emotions by default.
That's a good point.
I'd have to agree that mindshields probably only blocks from reading specific thoughts, but not the emotions attached to them.
Maybe there's an Empathy shield out there as well ?
Maybe that's why Fa'Lina doesn't emit any emotions ?
Offcourse, there's the whole *why* she would put on an "Empathy shield" ...
Maybe she's really raging inside and doesn't want the children to be disturbed by that ?

Or she just prefers people off-balance. Or it aids in bluffing. Or all three.
Think about it. The average Cubi is used to reading emotions and surface thoughts. Imagine going through a real life conversation with your eyes closed.
