..I know, I know, I hardly ever post on the forum nowadays, and many of you probably forgot that I exist ( :P ), but I feel obliged to warn those of you who still remember me that I'll be leaving for a week - going to the dreaded Village again. I will be back on the 20th, but until then I will be completely out of touch. So, goodbye and see you all later! :>
Noooooooo! Don't leave me :<
i've always known that he was one of the village people :P

Wrong Village. Ren is #154. Haven't you ever wondered why he always ends up getting dragged back there no matter how many times he escapes?
He's not a number! He's a free man!

Not until next Sunday.
[EDIT: Not tomorrow, the 20th]
Well, possibly.
We know what we have to do.
Super robot storm the village. Their antiquated weapons and way of life stand no chance against our HOT BLOOD :U
The dreaded Village? Are they going to try to get information from you? If so, just remember you need to punch at least one guy out per escape attempt.
..Aaaand I'm back. :>

Guys were punched, no information was revealed. My escape was right on schedule. *fixes his tie*

QUICK! TROMBE~
And once again, I am leaving. For another week. But now the weather seems to be better, so it hopefully won't be as bad as the last time. :>
Told you guys that he didn't *really* escape.
Happy trails, Ren! :D
Ren, you can give up now. Tape will just keep lassoing you and dragging you back to were you belong. :P
Have fun ren. :3

He sent me the next page already so hopefully the comic should update as normal...
I'm worried about his safety.
For you see it's quite obvious Ren isn't an artist.
He's a spetznaz who draws with the blood of his enemies. It's why he has to leave, to resupply :U
I wouldn't worry, then - he's obviously good at what he does. :o
Yep, I'm back. Hi everyone! :>

Well, there were a few medium-sized ones. I had Ramirez disable them with his tactical wire cutter.

Found your subliminal message. XD
*shakes Ren* STOP LEAVING US!! D:
Oh, and welcome back. :3
Wait, so were we not supposed to mention the part where you extract blood by biting them and sucking out the blood then spit it into ink vials? Have to make sure it is grade A quality blood.
Hey.
Hey.
I see you're back.
This is good, as there has been a certain lack of HOT BLOOD and TROMBE while you were gone.
TROMBE~
To all whom it concerns (and whom I haven't warned personally), I am leaving for yet another week of The Village. I'd really loved to stay, but a spetsnaz got to do what a spetsnaz has to do. *proceeds to dramatically put on combat uniform and load up with weapons and ammo until he is looking like a walking arsenal* And thus, I am away! *rocker jumps out of sight*
I simply must ask; what is "The Village", anyway?
It is the village where all spetsnaz go.

Down under where the lights are low.. To the village where the spetznatz go
doing things i never did before inside out and coming back for more...

Whoa, Ren Gaulen is special forces military? :boggle
Very impressive, kudos to him.

Figuratively or literally?
What Ren is actually doing can be explained here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dacha
...however, since the place has no internet and seems to be in a mobile dead spot to boot, and Ren doesn't have any friends there he's not particularly pleased about it when his family drag him out there. He usually finds out the day before they leave, which can result in some rushed comics.
On the other hand I can kind of see where his family are coming from... gods know I very rarely go on holiday with my folks these days (not least because AC tends to interfere with that).
Figuratively, 'The Village' is a reference to this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Prisoner
...partly because Ren keeps getting dragged back there, but also because the actual village where he goes doesn't actually
have a name. IIRC it has a designation left over from its use in Soviet times, "Research Area 6" or something of that ilk, I forget quite what.

so you're saying that Ren's actually an old soviet-era experiment that sneaks out of his lab now and again? >:3
I'd say that's entirely plausible Turnsky :3

Sounds like the setting for a horror movie... I'd bring several firearms with 200 rounds of ammunition each. Maybe some grenades if I could get my hands on 'em...

DAMMIT! Now that that I'm surrounded by all these freaking zombies/horror movie monsters, I
KNEW I was forgetting something!
I have received an update from Ren, apparently he managed to get away just long enough to email me.
Basically, he's going to be there for another week, hoping to be back on the 25th.
Curses. It seems his handlers have gotten their hands on him again. :<
i miss my borsct and caviar eatin fuzzbutt buddy
just yesterday at the laundromat i met a trio of russians (why a russian is in wisconsin ill never know) and was tempted to ask them if they knew anyone by his name
..So, I am back from fighting an alien invasion. Sadly, it is not driven back yet, so I'll have to go back there eventually. But for now I am here.

Yep, you guessed right - I'm leaving again. See you all in a week! :>
"Call of the Village" sounds like a made-for-TV sequel to Shyamalan's or however you spell it right movie.
This isn't a summer home.
This is his real home. Considering how much he's -not- here Xp
Oh gods why must the village steal you away againnnnnnn?? D:

Sorry. That may have crossed a line or three somewhere in there.
..I leave the city for a bloody week and all hell breaks loose. Before it was just very, very hot. Now, everything is on fire.
Well, not really on fire, but there is smoke everywhere. And it does not leave. Chances are, whereever you live you might have heard in the news that the central part of Russia is roasting in forest fires. And I am in the middle of it. :T
"Now here we stand with their blood on our hands..."
Yeah, I was worried about it. Russia's temporarily cut off export of grain do to the hit they're taking from this, dozens are dead and thousands evacuated, carbon monoxide levels in Moscow are seven times their regular amount, and smog is everywhere. There is some good news, though.
I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico!
