W-well... i guess they weren't joking when they said Amber had tons of e-mails she couldn't get the chance to reply to...

Someone's 3 seconds too late and in a different timezone than me! Squee! :P

Edit: How weird. The forums claim you are an hour late.. But I rapidly refreshed and saw yours pop up 3-5 seconds after mine. Guess there's not a localized forum clock.

Edit, the return: And now it changed again! This is sad. I'm having fun sitting here watching the forums try and keep up with all the goofballs on it.

Edit: I know! I just can't win. Maybe somebody ate part of the clock...?  :B

That question was easily answered how many years ago?

Edit:Seems that question was answered about 9 years ago back during the storyline that took place in the twink territories due to the daily updates in color... Damn has this comic really been around that long?

Ok, this one looks like it was the first by about 7 seconds, give or take.

...Wow. He really wasn't kidding when he said some of those have been sitting there for a LONG time...

Yea, wow. Its amazing how time flies...
Speaking of time, I just noticed - my Firefox bookmark for DMFA shows "DMFA: 03/02/07: Danger danger! High Voltage!"... Which means that I've read DMFA for three years, and that I've kept the same set of bookmarks, too.

It wasn't the cabinet that moved. It was Mason.  :mwaha

Dang, that must be a pretty old e-mail. :D
I wonder just how old ?

I lost my shortcuts in early 2009, so I don't know how long I have been reading DMFA, but I'm fairly certain it's close to 6 years or so.

I have been reading these since Straha from wtfcomics recommended her...not sure how long ago...

I've found these "Amber's away" comics rather fun.

I caught something... and this time it was wording and not an illness... Mason says "Don't need any more porn". That means he already has some, so my question is does he have any DMFA porn? I am thinking strangely now....

Well, there's probably plenty of sketches lying around the house that could be easily photoshopped, right? heh

I think a much better answer would have been:

Dear reader.
A hand clears another, so we have agreed - Amber will start doing strips in colour when you swap that monochrome monitor and Hercules graphic card for something newer.

He he he ... last I checked, the only monochrome monitors I remember was the green/black ones ... DMFA must look horrible on those!  :U

I used to use an old 1960s portable TV with my ZX Spectrum.  It made 'Monty on the Run' difficult to play because you couldn't see what colour the teleporter had turned...

I remember a large number of monochrome (black and white) monitors.  The Hercules graphics card was one of early graphics cards.  However, the CAD (computer aided drafting) group also had a number of very high resolution monochrome monitors, but I don't know what cards they used.

In addition, some people used monochrome monitors with cards that could support both color and monochrome monitors.  The mask used in color CRT monitors limited the resolution that you could get on color monitors.  This wasn't a limitation for the monochrome monitors and they got twice the resolution or more for the same price.

Amber ones ?  :erk

I can't even imagine how Amber's comic would look on an Amber monitor.
Perhaps it would look like ... muffins ?

Ah well, I reckon I'll just stick to my standard color monitor instead.
But it's still interesting to think how far the computer have come in such a short time.
Without the fast processors, dedicated graphics displays and color monitor, DMFA would probably not even exist.

It's an interesting thought, isn't it ? :)

We used to have a word processor that had an amber screen.  Much easier to read than the old green screen, but green screens could do shading.  As for the comic on an amber screen, you couldn't see much of anything.
We had a Smith-Corona personal word processor like this one:

Too bad the company is barely there anymore.
