Good grief....
Emphasis on grief....
Wonder what he's going to say....
Well, that was depressing. Which I imagine was the intent.
Wow... Simple page but so intense. Fantastic job as always.
Good luck with the border peeps tomorrow. Hopefully by this time tomorrow you'll be a Canadian.

I'm still trying to figure out is how hard was he grabbed/shoved back into the room. Good luck with all that "fun" tomorrow (today at time of writing)
I really wonder what she has to say now
Not really much to add about the strip, but best of luck with the Canadaisation.
I think this is one of those "I don't know if you can hear me, but.." moments.

And then Aniz crashes the party, and Abel takes revenge for having his moment of weepiness ruined by a psychotic drunk of a father.

Unless Aniz is pretending to be Kria, that seems unlikely - there are a few practical difficulties for him to do that, like the warding...

Unless, of course, he put in those door runes
himself to keep Fa'Lina from getting involved...
Now I wonder if Aniz is going to try to make a supprise visit after Abel's mom dies.
I mean, he wouldn't be stupid enough to come visit after all the things he did in this town would he and under the watchful eyes of Kria that could end with a lot of severed limbs when Kria starts on Aniz wouldn't it?
Aniz did say he would put flowers on her grave.

Er.
So, Aniz, a 400 year old Cubi (I'm rounding up, go with it) is easily able to keep out a >9000 year old Cubi (according to the demo 101 Cubi page) who was his teacher, and still is apparently powerful enough to give him a beatdown with no effort.
Yeah. That sounds likely.

I first thought that Kria might be the angriest, but I think I'm more scared of Abel's reaction to Aniz impersonating Kria to get at both his mom and him. Kria is one of the few actually caring for Abel, and such impersonation would be insult on top of injury at a moment of grief.
I stated it eailer, Fa'lina could probably get through those runes no problem, considering who and what she is.
Do you think Abel's mom will recognize him after 50 years or so?

Or...around them.
Aniz is cloaked as Kria, decloaks and does his grand "Gotcha AGAIN, son!" entrance.
Abel: AUUGH!
Aniz: I told you what I'd do, boy. And don't bother calling for Fa'alina. I had those runes installed by a master artificer, they really WILL fry her if she tries to step through that door.
*CRUNCH*
And Aniz realizes his error. While the door is cubi-tentacle-proof, the WALL is not. Chalk up an epic entry for TVtropes under "Barrier Busting Blow"
Heh, or an extended remix.
*THUD* as an enraged Fa'alina tries and fails to punch through the wall
Aniz: And YES, Fa'alina, I did reinforce the wall as well! And now, boy...
*CRUNCH-RUNCH*
Fa'alina: You forgot the ceiling.
Then we could have a combo Barrier Busting Blow and Vertical Kidnapping.
...Σ(゜Д゜ノ)ノ
Hokay, thinking before I post my own little theories now. Oy. (_ _ ;;)
In any case, compelling story, Amber! Can't wait for the next one! ( ̄w ̄)b
