Title: Pokemon Gold and Silver remake?

Tis good news for pokemon fans...good news indeed.

I'm wondering if they will add a bit more to the GS remake like they did with Fire red and Leaf green. Other than just the Kanto region after the Elite Four. : L

This is good because it will mean that they'd have fixed the broken internal battery issue, making it actually worthwhile to play the game to completion. On top of things, I hope they make it viable to complete the pokedex by trading within the same generation of cartridges some how.

If they can do that then I say woot! It'd be a good stop for the nostalgic, and certainly be a treat for the whole generation that never actually played the game.

Wait what? Care to explain that a bit in depth?

If the battery dies, you lose the save game, and there's no way to recharge it?

Lost my original Gold that way.

I haven't had that happen to me to any of my old pokemon games. I must be lucky O.o

EDIT: Gameplay footage at 4:20 then ends at like 4:33 D :  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lq9Xt3FJH80)

G/S had an internal clock, which meant the battery was under constant duress. R/B/G didn't have that feature. All of those old gameboy cartridges that sported a save game feature would've had an internal battery and will die eventually, but they don't die anywhere near as fast as G/S would due to that 24/7 clock.

Since the memory was tied to the battery, it went out with the bath water.

I honestly hope they don't make this game exclusively for the DSi, because I recently bought a limited edition DS for my birthday and I don't want to replace it so soon :<

Either way, this news makes me extremely happy inside. <3

Umm, the DSi Takes the same sd cards as the DS does it not?  The only difference is that the DSi doesn't support the older games from the gba as far as I know..

I think Keaton means that it shouldn't be in the DSi game shop, which I highly doubt. They usually put "small" games in the shop for the Wii and DSi.

I had the silver version but lost it when I switched apartments. Also, the other forum I'm a part of is also talking about it which isn't a big surprise considering the comic it's for is based on a pokemon game.

OO! I hope they keep that one old guy that made pokeballs out of acorns OvO

...And put back Headbutt as a way to get pokemon out of trees as well as putting Honey on the bark. Or replace it xD

If you're able to always have a critter out, especially if not just your starter, it'll already be worth it. Gold, Silver and Crystal were, are, and will still be the best ones in the series.

I'm quite excited for these new games  :3

Gold/Silver/Crystal have been my most enjoyed generation EVAR, and many of my favorite Pokemon are from the first and second gens anyway. I remember trying to make a list of favorite Pokemon and noticed I barely had any pokemon from the 3rd and 4th gen   :<
