OOC: Continuing with the RP from the old forum.
Saeoun, the Radiant Servant, Eiram, the Elven Ranger, and Sasha, the Shifter Warshaper, step into the Cathedral of Pelor. In the main hall, they find the body of bleeding cleric, moaning in pain.
Meanwhile, outside the Temple of Kord, Lieutenant Avalon, Astraea the rogue, the aberrant Gary, and Doragon the Dragon Shaman look around the corner at the two guards at the entrance. Not wanting to alert anymore already inside, Avalon advises the rogue and ninja to take out the gaurds with little noise.
And heading toward the East Gate in the town, Malakin the spearman, Joulzen the combat medic, Zander the killoren druid, Velgin the spellsword, Amarillis the exalted arcanist escort twelve engineers hauling two cannons down the street.
Back at the warehouse being used by the military as a temporary headquarters, Zeth the gnome beguiler interrogates 5 orc POWs.
The entire town of Saltmarsh is under siege, and this is how a group of adventurers are seeking to save it.
OOC: *Cough* Malakin, not malaking *Cough*
OOC: Just for the record, Sasha did not offer her name to the new arrivals either. She just glared at them with some contempt. She had worked hard to advance from grunt to Sgt and didn't like the new, non-military sticking their noses into her fight. >:3
IC: Sasha ignored the priest and quickly moved past him. Her eyes darted around the interior of the main chamber searching for any movement. She knew she was no healer and left that job to those with more delicate hands. Her own hands though tightened their grips around the worked leather of her sword hilts as she bared her sharp teeth, growling a low and throaty growl.
OOC: I might be gone for a bit. Perhaps a week. We're spending some time up North.
OOC: the results from the Backround contest are in.
1st place Rakuras
2nd place Azlan
3rd place Saeoun
1st place Rakuras gets 2000 gp
2nd place Azlan gets 5 potions of cure moderate wounds
3rd place Seaoun gets 5 potions of cure light wounds
every one who entered gets a mess kit and 4 sp.
OOC: DV, this is the IC thread, the OOC thread kind of fallen a little further down. As for the RP, it seems like things at the temples may be on hiatus for now due to people in those groups being somewhat tied up. Let's look over to our people with the cannons.
The group reaches the East gate with little trouble. Not a soul stands on the streets, but a few of the town gaurds are there to meet them at the gate. A male warrior steps forward.
"I am Lara Tanerson, overseer of Eastgate. What is happening? Why is the town on alert?"
The ranger enters causally. He checks area for signs of the enemy.
http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3204
The ranger practically scours the place from top to bottom. He finds nary a soul beyond the dying cleric on the steps to the main hall, but notices a few things. The pulpit in the center of the main hall seems to have a marking in the fabric set on top, indicating something that used to sit there is now gone. He also finds numerous tracks, and a bloody footprint by the dying cleric that doesn't belong to him. He can just as many fresh tracks coming into the temple as going out.
Edit: OOC: for the sake of moving things along while the integral player is out...
Saeoun runs up to the cleric and places a hand upon his chest. With the help of his sacred healing, he returns 13 points to the man's health. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3205) The man gets up, still breathing uneasily.
"Thanks you, Saeoun. You saved my life. The orcs broke in, I tried to stop them, but they blew right through me. I had kept the temple clear of innocents, knowing this place would be targeted by those greedy creatures. They made off with our sacred vessel," He turned to the pulpit, "along with anything else they thought help some value. Please, you must go after them. We can not let them get away with this. I'll stay here and wait for you, I'd doubt they come back, but I must stay and pray to Pelor. I wish you all luck in your search."

Eiram call his hound and points the tracks. With the scent memorized the hounds nods that it it ready and he call for the others to follow him as they leave the temple on the track of the orcs. His blood flows hot at the thought of slayings those butchering monsters
The <elven>bloody Abyss sent hordes of the one-eyed are attacking, Fool!!<elven>
The Guard stares at the Red robed elf in shock "what was that spell-talk or somewhat? Can you speak in common?"
Amarillis slowly as if to a small child " the big bad nasty orcises and lizardfolkes are attacking, so the town is on alert. Which means you get to follow Lt. Amarillis of the Moon's Flame army to defend this town. <Draconic> Understand?<Draconic> How many men do you have?
"I'm afraid we only have the currently gate gaurds stationed here, miss, which is only 8 excluding myself. Should we stay to continue guarding the gate in case they try to get through. In fact," Lars turned to the gaurd standing at the threshold of Eastgate, "Close the gate, no one but military personnel may be allowed access to the city."
The guard begins to enter the door to the gate's watchtower.
Temple of Pelor - Main Hall
Sasha watched Eiram as he paused in his search of the hall, then called his hound in to continue the search. Hearing the priest relate the events that had transpired Sasha sheathed her swords and looked over at the holy man. "And just what was this sacred vessel? What did it look like?"
"It was a blessed cup we used for ceremonies," The priest answered, "It makes any water poured into it holy. However, if one of evil were to drink from it, they shall be stricken with a hunger that can never be satisfied. While it would be a fate those ruffians have well earned, I'd rather not have them sully the goblet with even the touch of their lips."
Eiram taps his top as he waits. he is eager to be on the tail but this is unfamiliar territory and he still has the manners to wait on what capanions wish to join him on the hunt. "shall we hurry? the trail grows cold as we wait"
The cleric and shifter finally follow the ranger on the orc's trail from the Cathedral of Pelor. Meanwhile, back at the Temple of Kord, Astraea moves into position to take out one of the guards. However, she slips at the last moment, and drops her dagger. The orc turns to see the elvish rogue lying on the ground before him. He quickly grabs hold of her, and presents her to the other guard. The two smile at each other, then take her above their heads, holding her arms and legs, and run off with her, heading toward the local cemetery.
Lieutenant Avalon stares blankly for several moments, then shakes his head and turns to the remaining group.
"This may be our chance, we must take advantage of the rogue's noble sacrifice and enter while their is no one to warn those inside. Quickly, everyone enter together. Gary, enter at my side. The two who enter last, stand inside the doors and run to warn us if anyone else comes. Now move."
The soldiers enter the temple, and two remain right inside the doors, peaking out into the world. Inside they find many bodies. A few dozen commoners and a handful of gaurds lay slain upon the floors.
"Damn, these people came to see the fights at sunset, but instead ended up some of the victims of the siege. We must keep other people out. While the town bells rang, they seemed to grow silent too soon. If the bells of this place were rung, the people of Saltmarsh would know for sure that they are under attack. Mr. Chavez, seek out the belltower of this temple, and ring the bells for the people to hear. Doragon and Myself shall lead the rest of the soldiers to clear out the rest of the orc infestation. No doubt they've already begun to raid the armory for the gladiators."
At Eastgate, the Porticuliss is about to be closed when one of the guards spots something coming down the road. He narrows his eyes, and sees four figures marching toward the gate. One looks to be a bard, a set of pan pipes in hand and a rapier at his side. Another looks to be fair skinned, wearing a shiny silver-white chain shirt and scimitar, and with a big canine with yellow-brown fur and large ears at his side. Another leading them appears to be a catfolk, who appears restricted in his steps as he waits for his companions to catch up. His eyes meet with those of the gaurd on top of the ramparts. The fourth one sports a pair of fey wings on her back, and the combined elegance of fey and elf. She sits in the saddle of a light warhorse, who bears the colors of the royal army.
"Halt the gate," The overseer shouted. They waited for the four to arrive and step through the arches. The overseer stepped forward to greet them, "Madame, I was told to expect your arrival, though we had expected and hoped you would arrive earlier."
the ranger Eiram steps off the the side. he knows not whats is going one but i will wait to see how things play out. of all the low down things to to ransacking a temple rates pretty hight and is made worse by the harm brought religious followers that reside their. the orcs will not escape today.
"There you are," Marethial proclaims approaching the gate, "Our forces have been split at the temples, I need volunteers to follow me. Introductions have either been given already or can wait, we must move quickly. All but 2 can come, the rest will stay here and set up a proper defense for the gate. You engineers, start digging trenches and setting up Fraise. Use whatever you can, chairs, spears, anything, just make sure the ends pointing outward are sharp."
Marosharr arrives at the east gate of the city of salt marsh with the sun low on the horizon, his mission to escort the half-fey nearly complete. The city apparently closing it's gates for the night as they approach it. He dashes the last few yards to the gates and turns to wait for his charge and chance road companions to catch up.
He waits impatiently, scanning the gate area, as the half-fey is made her introductions, and perks noticibly as Marethial comes to the gate.

"Orcs and lizardfolk seem to have banded together in a full assault on the city. We are currently clearing the temple district of enemies and refugees."
Silas MacNamera stood with the group of newcomers, stroking his chin in contemplation as he overheard the conversation between Marosharr and Marethial. Weighing his options for a few moments before smiling and letting the pan pipes rest at his belt where they fit snugly in a holster, Silas moved to speak.
"Friends, I find it quite distasteful for these ruffians to lay siege to such a famed city as Saltmarsh. Allow me to accompany the good sir's band into the city and throw these foes from the region. Perhaps then we will have some drink and song to celebrate the retrieved?"
He seemed confident enough in that reasoning, and moved to join the group that would head to the temple district.
"Celebrate all you wish once the enemy is defeated, until then, we shall give them no quarter."
The rider dismounts, quickly removing essential gear from the horse. "My duty shall be here, unless you believe you will need me."
The lady turns to one of the idle guards and hands him the reins, "could you take him to where your other mounts are kept."
Gary nodded and detached from the wall he had pressed up against. He touched the side of the bell tower and was surprised to find that his insect-like hands were able to adhere to it. As he started to clamber upwards, his breath caught in his throat when he first saw his bare feet. They were covered with the same hard chitin that his hands were. They ended in 3 toes with long, vicious looking nails. He quickly turned his face upwards and tried not to think about what the rest of his body would look like the next time he had to bathe. He climbed up to the top of the tower and rang the bell, then hid in preparation for the guards that would undoubtedly have heard the ringing.

The glorious bells ring loudly, blasting their thunderous booms over the entire town. With little place to hide, Gary hides amongst the raftors of the belltower. The clanging of the bells threaten to deafen him, but he manages to block out the thunderous chimes.
A pair of orcs rush into the tower to find no one there.
"Someone rang the bell," One of the orcs yelled, "The captain will have our heads."
Marethial looks to the belltower from Eastgate. She waves the group forward, "Those who wish to come, come. Someone stay here with Miss Silithiel to guard the gate. There is no time to argue, so let's move."
Down on the ground floor of the Temple of Kord, Lieutenant Avalon leads Doragon and his soldiers into the arena. There, they see two orcs practicing with masterwork greatswords. Josh draws his sword and shield.
"Stand down thieves," Josh shouts to the orcs, "Or meet the fate of those who defy authority."
"We will not stand down, knight," One of the orcs replies, "This city will be under our authority soon enough."
The banging of the bells sweeps through the arena.
"Then the bell tolls for thee!"
Josh charges the orcs. The blade digs into the left orc's chainmail (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3626%3Cbr%20/%3E) The blade doesn't dig that far though (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3627) The holy damage still flairs in the wound, dealing a total of 14 damage. The orcs go into a rage and strike back, but can not pierce Josh's armor.
Gary quietly uncovered his crossbow and aimed at one of the orc guards, hiding among the rafters and sticking to the wall.

The crossbow lands on the head of one of the orcs, who looks about bewildered. The other looks up and spots Gary in the rafters.
"There he is," He shouts drawing a javelin.
The orcs throw their javelins at the ninja. The first one misses completely, the other bounces off Gary's carapace. The orcs grow infuriated.
Marosharr goes with Marethial's group, his short bow drawn and strung, and an arrow nocked and ready to be drawn and fired. He moves in stops and starts, dashing ahead and dropping behind the main group, senses on alert for any sign of hostile forces.
Gary quickly looked to both sides for another place to hide, finding none he quickly threw a dagger at one of the orcs. The dagger hit home and created a bleeding wound. (quick draw is used)

After listening quietly, Malakin readies a javelin and runs after Marethial's squad..
This should be intresting..
Hmmm dont worry I wont miss this fight for anything..I will follow you to the ends of the earth Marethial. "smiles with pride in his grey eyes*
The dagger hits the orc in the neck. He screams out in pain and blood gushes from the wound.
He attempts to throw another javelin, but misses again. The other, however, hits dead on. The javelin hits Gary square in the chest for 16 damage. Gary nearly loses his grip on the ceiling, but holds on.
"Ready your spear, pikeman," Marethial speaks to Malakin, "We meet our foes head on."
The group from the gate arrive at the crossroads in the middle of the religion district, "You four," She points to Malakin, Marosharr, Silas and Zedd, "Come with me, we're moving to the temple of Kord. The rest of you, go onward to the Temple of Pelor, it's that big Cathedral over there." She points to the temple on the next block with a shining beacon on top of it.
Marethial moves with the four to the entrance of the Temple of Kord, past the pillars of past champions that lead to its halls, while the rest move onto the Cathedral of Pelor.
OOC: two natural 20s in a row, that's just messed up.
Wincing in pain from the javalin wound, Gary decided to end this. He used quick draw to hit the orc that had injured him.

The orcs push for position at the window, but there necks continue to drip blood and there arms can't reach the ninja. They jump out onto the roof, but they realize just as their fits of rage end how steep the belltower roof is. They lose their footing and go sliding down and slamming into the roof on the lower part of the roof. They continue to tumble down, then practically shoot off the end, spinning in midair, screaming with blood flying everywhere. They land before the feat of a surprised blond woman in mithral armor. She looks up to the ninja clinging to the belltower side.
"Continue ringing the bell," She shouts to the roof, "We shall clear out the rest of the temple."
Gary nodded and crawled back inside. He retrieved his crossbow and resumed ringing the large bell.
Malakin puts his javlin back and readys his spear again.. Then moves further into the temple..
The four follow Marethial inside. They soon see the wall of Avalon's soldiers standing at the edge of the arena.
"Stand aside," Marethial commands.
The soldiers comply, and open up to reveal Josh fighting off two orcs in the ring.
Marosharr contemplates the tableu before the group for a moment. "Shouldn't we be helping him?"
He steps forward and draws back his arrow, loosing it at the nearest orc.

The arrow gets caught in the mesh of chainmail, but the orc doesn't even notice it. It's hard to tell if it even broke the skin.
Malakin hesitates for a second but agrees: "Aye, we should!" Then charges forwards towards the nearest orc, lowers his spear and thrusts it into him as hard as he can!

The second one deals 16 damage: http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3662
The two beams meet and burn through the orcs armor, and the barbarian meets the same fate as its associate. Josh stands over the two, then looks to his subordinates.
"Excellent work," He commends them, "Come, my soldiers, there are sure to be more in the armory. It is time to clear out this infestation."
They all head past the arena, down the stairs into the underground armory. They burst in, finding a group of 12 orcs helping themselves to the weapons and armor.
"Deliver a fireball, sorcerer!" Josh commands stepping to the side.
Zedd steps forward and sends off a tiny bead that then erupt in a blast of flame.
The 8 orcs in the middle of the room get caught in the blast and all take 26 damage. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3673)
The orcs that were subject to the fireball and sent flying to the ground scorched completely, with what hair they had now burned off their bodies. The four remaining orcs look to the knight and his entourage. They drop the equipment in their hands and reach for the ceiling. Josh moves forward and proceeds to corral the four orcs with Marethial's help. He then looks to the racks of weapons and suits of armor that stand before him, then turns to his own grunts.
"Men, I think it's time we traded up. Grab the banded mail, tower shields and short swords. With them you'll be a phalanx to remember."
The 10 soldiers proceed to don the armor and take the masterwork short swords and tower shields. Josh turns to the rest of his troops.
"Marethial, inform Mr. Chavez that we have taken back the temple and can stop ringing the bell. The rest of you, have the orc POWs tied up, and then meet me at the front of the temple. The enemy must certainly know from the bell by now that they have lost the temple, and with such a store of supplies they'd be quite interested in taking it back. We can not let this happen. We shall meet them head on, and see who stands victorious."
Josh leaves the armory with his newly armored men in tow, and marethial rushes past him to deliver the message to Gary.
Marosharr retrieves his arrow from the body of the first orc, but finds is snapped by the orc's fall. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3674) He discards the broken shaft with disgust, and procedes to the temple's door to help defend it should orc reinforcements arrive.
Marethial arrives in the bell tower of the temple. Gary stops ringing the bell to listen to her.
"We need you on the ground, Mr. Chavez," She told him, "We have prisoners in need of restraint and must to ready to repel an enemy attack. We may need you to watch over them while we fight outside, so they don't try to escape."
Gary was able to hear the message when she got there, after shouting for her to repeat herself a couple times. He stopped ringing and climbed down the tower from out of the window.
"Mr. Chavez," Josh finds Gary standing outside, "See to the prisoners inside. We don't want them running away during the chaos of the battle. I also want 4 of you men to help him watch over the captives."
Gary nodded and walked over to the arena, noticing that the prisoners were being taken there. As he reached the entrance he noticed a broken cart. A single wheel continued to roll a few metres before falling down. This always happens during cart crashes so he decided to pay it no mind.
Gary shrugged and walked inside.
Silas watches Marethial dart off to alert Gary, and whistles at the orcs to have them follow. As they walk up the stairs and back into the arena, Gary is related the orders and Silas tries to think of a way to be helpful. He snapped his fingers and smiled in revelation, taking a length of rope from his pack and holding it up in offer to Gary, "Rope, I find, has numerous uses. Plainly here, to bind one or more unscrupulous foes together."
Gary just stared at the man for a couple seconds, clicking his mandibles together without even realizing it. Finally he just shook his head and took the rope. He managed to tie all 4 of the prisoners up tightly, the rope felt extremely strong.

The orcs struggle, but find themselves completely helpless in the binds. They weren't going anywhere.
Back outside, Marethial meets with Avalon.
"Is it set?" Josh asks her.
She looks to the bell tower, and he follows her gaze. Hanging from the side of the building is a large blue banner, with the white symbol of the outline of a shield, and a sword standing before it.
The four soldiers that followed Gary return, reporting that the prisoners are secured.
"Marethial, tell Mr. Chavez to gaurd the entry hall to the building, if anyone gets by us, it's his job to stop them from reaching the belltower," Josh turns to the catfolk, "Marosharr, I presume. I've heard of your skills. I'll need you to keep a sharp eye out for any sneaky orcs. If anyone makes it in, it's your job to help Mr. Chavez beat them to the tower. I know a catfolk such as yourself should have the speed for it. Until then, I want you sticking to the sides of the enemy force, keeping the enemy from surrounding us too soon along with keeping anyone from trying to go around to get inside," Josh then turns to Malakin, "Spearman, you'll be standing ready to hold the line against oncoming forces. I'll be helping you with that, but you'll probably end up with the larger body count."
Josh finally turns to those he doesn't know that well, "Sorcerer, and I assume Bard, state your names. I like to know the names of my new sergeants."
The bard gives a rather awkward looking bow and delightfully introduces himself, "Greetings! I am Silas MacNamera, traveling minstrel and currently bard in your service. I've come to Saltmarsh after a long journey but have found it ill-prepared for my welcome. I will gladly assist in reclaiming it, sir!"
Marosharr nods at Josh's command, and slinks over to one of the statues studding the courtyard grounds. He takes position behind it, about twenty feet forward of the entrance the spearmen are guarding, and 30 feet to the right, making himself unobtrusive and hard to see (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3684) in the redening light of the setting sun. He draws out another arrow and nocks it to his shortbow, ready to pierce the hide of the next green-skinned thug to invade this sacred ground.
Sasha followed the ranger as he and his animal companion followed the trail of the orcs. She had drawn her weapons again and clenched them expectingly.
"Named Sven King....Battle Sorcerer at your service sir"...he held out his hand in shake
"You've proven yourself capable, Sven. I'll need you for when the orcs first come in. I want you to lay a fireball right into the center of the first wave, get as many as you can. We'll mop up the rest, but provide assistance if the mop up takes too long by using magic missile, if you can. As for you, Silas, I need you to help spur us forward into battle. With your help and the auras of Doragon, we'll push them back in no time."
Josh then turns to his grunts, "As for the rest of you men, Line up before the door to the temple. If they want in they'll have have blow through a mix of wood, steel and bone. If your flesh may begin to fail, Marethial will stand by to raise you anew."
Back at the Cathedral of Pelor, Eiram finally gets underway at tracking the orcs. As they round the corner, Joulzen, Amarillis, and Zander meet them. They can see Eiram hot on a trail and follow suit. After only 5 minutes (3 for Eiram, but he had to wait for the others to catch up), the trail ends at a long stone building. The smell of fermenting alcohol hangs around it, and a sign above the door shows a drunk blue frog dancing happily around an empty mug, his blue tongue hanging out and threatening to wrap around his legs. Inside, the sounds of throaty laughter and belches can be heard.
<elvish> of course, i should not have expected any better<elvish> <common with elvish accent> i believe that our quarry are inside. </accent> Erim listens closely (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3685) to hear was is going on insider of the building
Eiram hears little beyond the rucus coming from what he knows to be the orcs. However, he also hears a sort of rustling, and what sounds to be muffled screams just below the sloshing of pouring liquid. He also hears an orc tapping a spear on the floor away from the festivities.
Judging from the tracks he followed and the sounds inside, Eiram determines there are about 9 orcs in the building.
With a feral sneer on her lips Sasha approachs the front door. She stops short of opening it, waiting for others to move into favorable positions. The young warrior more then willing to be the first through the door swinging. In doing so she could catch their collected attention and allow the others to flank or cast any spells unnoticed. She gives the others a nod to signal her readiness to act as soon as they are.
Eiram slips into a postion by an opening that would allow him good sniping position and the ability to cover Sasha with his arrows. he nods and looks to the others
Being outside the building, there is little place to cover Sasha than from her flank.
"Right, you can count on me to hold the lines.. "
OOC: D: for somereason at the moment, im just going blank over the RP posts on this forum :/
<elvish accent>i believe there are 9 maybe ten in there<elvish accent> Eiram holds his bow ready pulling an arrow from his quiver.
Sasha glanced at Eiram as he mentioned there being possibly nine orcs inside. She wasn't sure is she was glad there were only nine of them, or disappointed there weren't more. The shifter shook her head slightly. "There is no time for thoughts other then to fight right now." She chastised herself and chanced a glance at the other three they had met up with; Joulzen, Amarillis, and Zander.
Amarillis withdraws some substance from one pouch, gestures and speaks a few words that seem to hang in the air. She is covered by a soft glow that seems to enhance her face ond body.
Casts Eagle's spelendor on self
Back at the temple of Kord, the group stood ready. The soldiers held the temple doors behind them, while Gary waited inside. Malakin stood out on the temple path, ready to repel a charge, 5 feet between Josh and a pillar. Zedd and Silas stood behind them, Zedd having a clear shot at the gates and Silas right behind Malakin. Josh stood next to the 3rd pillar away from the gate, 2nd pillar from the temple doors. Marosharr waited in hiding by the 2nd pillar from the gates. Marethial stood right behind Josh, who stands ready to repel any attack that comes.
Finally, a pair of blackscales come lumbering through the gate. They charge at Josh and Malakin, and strike from 10 feet away. The first misses Malakin, and the other impacts his club against Josh's armor, but the knight stands firm.
Josh takes a 5 foot step forward, and begins his attack with an excellent strike. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3708%3Cbr%20/%3E) His blade cuts in for 10 damage. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3709%3Cbr%20/%3E) The second strike proves just as sure. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3710) The second hit deals 9 damage, for a total of 19. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3711%3Cbr%20/%3E)
Marosharr watches the two lizards charge, and the waiting line of soldiers recieve them. He then turns towards the gate again, and pulls back the nocked arrow on his bow, ready to let fly against the next vile thing to come through the gates.
{readied action to make a ranged attack against the next enemy to enter through the gate.}

Malakin deftly dodges the club and returns the favour with two stabs with the greatspear.
Attack 1: 8+19 = 27 (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3733)
damage: 5+5+14=24 *2 = 48 (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3734)
Attack 2: 12+14=26 (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3735)
damage: 2+6+14=22 *2 = 44 (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3736)
The blackscale is impaled upon the greatspear, and hangs lifelessly upon it. Malakin shakes it off and thrusts the greatspear at the second blackscale, finishing it off. Suddenly, from out of nowhere, a pair of arrows come flying at Malakin, catching him off gaurd, and dealing a total of 6 damage. Malakin looks around, but can't see where they came from.
"Where did those shots come from?" Josh asks.
"I don't know, I can't see anyone," Marethial answers.
Back at the brewery, Zander and Saeoun both stand ready. Suddenly, Zander gets an idea. He casts Shillelagh on his club and open a pocket in his vest. Out pops a little bird that comes to perch on his shoulder. He whispers something to it, then puts a hand on the door to the brewery. The door swings open slowly, any sound trumped by the rucus inside, and the bird flies in. Seconds later, the sound of a kettle on a stove sounds, and the rest of the noise dies down. The sound is followed by some orcish grunting, and a moment later the bird flies back out the door on sits upon the killoren's head. Zander waves everyone back and either side of the door. Seconds later, the door flies open and an orc barges out. Before he can turn to see the Killoren, Zander brings his club down upon its head. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3823%3Cbr%20/%3E) The orc is almost left dazed by the powerful blow, but it still stands. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3824) The druid tries again, and just manages to lay another blow. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3825) The blow produces a second bump on the orc's noggin. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3826)
Still the orc stands, but Zander's wolf comes in low. The wolf latches onto the orc's leg. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3830) The orc falls with a groan, and the wolf drags him away from the door. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3831)
"What going on out here?" An orcish voice asks just coming outside.
Zander's club greets him at the door. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3832) The orc's nose is scrunched in further by the blow, but he manages to stay standing. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3833) Zander tries again, but once again misses on his second hit. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3834) The wolf tries again, but accidently bits its own tongue. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3835)
Saeoun comes in from the other side of the door, and lays his morningstar upon the orcs cranium. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3836) It may not hit hard, but the orc ends up knocked out all the same. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3837)
The orc's spear falls, but Saeoun tries to quickly drag the orc away from the door.
"Alright, no more games," An orc shouts from inside, "Stand where I can see you!"
Zander waves Sasha and points about 5 feet from in front of the door.
The sounds of battle outside finally got to Gary and he decided to actually do something of his own initiative. He climbed up the building to get a good vantage point of the field. He aimed his crossbow and fired at the nearest blackscale.

Damage
(Urrrgh, do damage later on, just let me edit it tomorrow and ignore it until then)
Sasha inhale deeply, then as she exhaled her body undertook a physical change. Her hair color shifted to orange with black striping. Similarly colored tuffs of fur grew from her wrists and elbows. Her features became more feline and her nails grew. Her teeth bared menacingly, she lashed out with her boot at the door. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3878)
Without pausing, Sasha growls and launches herself at the orcs swinging her dual long swords.

OOC: only the first swing counts, as you had to move more than five feet to reach the enemy.
The orc is caught off guard by the slashing fury that enters the brewery, catching him off guard.
Meanwhile, the bolt hits the poor dying blackscale in its bleeding hide, and it collapses once more, utterly dead. Josh turns to see Gary.
"Chavez, can you see the snipers?"
Eiram bow twangs as he shoots rapid fire shot to cover the warrior's assult.

The orc stands dead before the third arrow hits its arm. The other orcs look curiously from behind some crates, then sneer at the shifter and elf.
OOC: the orcs were caught off gaurd, so everyone else there still have a move to make, and the doorway is still open. That leaves DV and Rakuras.
Gary nodded and looked through his surroundings.
Spot Hidden http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3924
He looked down at Josh and answered;
"There is a lizardfolk hiding at each side of the gate. They're the smallest that I've ever seen and seem to have some kind of camoflaguing because their scales are as grey as the stone walls."
Josh steps closer to the battle sorcerer.
"Sven," He whispers, "Lay down a fireball. Aim for right between the gates, you should be able to catch both of them in the blast."
Sven nods and agrees and sets the fireball set it to go off 10 feet past the gate
http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3925
The lizards make their saves, taking only 15 damage from the fireball. However, 4 charred orcs fall dead beyond the gates, 2 on each side. Another 4 move forward and line up facing the gate. A female half-orc stands before them, dressed in full plate and cloak and weilding a pair of spears. She glares at Josh, who glares back.
"ATTACK!" She yells. The orcs fly into a rage, and the half-orc leads the charge, going straight for Josh with one of her spears in hand. Despite her efforts, she still fails to pierce Josh's mighty armor.
Marosharr releases his arrow squarley into the face of the orc leader's charge. The arrow strikes her, piercing her armor (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3929) and drawing blood (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3930), though it does not strike any vital point.
He ducks back behind the pillar, but the charging orcs will almost certainly have seen him now.
The arrow lands in her back, but she hardly notices. However, her 4 orcs do. They surround the Marosharr, and start swinging their falchions, but they all miss the quick catfolk.
Meanwhile, Josh stands from his defensive position. He brings down his blade upon the orc with a righteous fervor. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3935) 25 points of damage rip through the orc. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3936) Another 8 points of holy damage burns upon her flesh. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3939)
"Your form proves lacking," Josh taunts, "I know of Templars like yourself, but you're the first one with evil running through her veins. Let's see if you can prove your worth."
He swipes again, but she blocks with her spear. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3940)
"Now you're learning." He speaks bluntly but with a smile.
OOC: it seems the downed server lost some of the last posts. For a quick update, the orcs surrounded Marosharr by the pillar, all of them missed, then Gary took a shot at one of the lizardfolk and dealt 8 damage.
Doragon looks at the orcs surrounding the catman. He moved in line with the 3 orcs to the left of Marosharr. After a hearty inhalation of air, he blew forth a line of fire from his mouth. The orcs look in time to take 11 fire damage. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=3948)
Silas watches the fighting begin and smiles, "This reminds me of a rather uplifting melody I once heard in the eastern lands. Noble orc vanquishers, take heart!" With that, he takes the pipes from his side and begins to play a song that inspires courage in the spirits of his allies. (It's +2!)
Filled with courage, Malakin Brings his spear down on the half-orc. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4031) The first blow deals 21 damage. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4032) Malakin twists the spear in the wound. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4033) Another 22 damage hits the half-orc. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4034)
The half-orc slips off the bloody spearhead, and her mind slips from the mortal coil. Her orcs watch as she falls, and shake with sweat drenched faces.
"Well now lets prepare see the light my orcish friends" Sven places his hands apon the orcs to cast scorching rays apon the first orc http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4036

14 damage burns the orc to its knees. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4039) 16 damage to the second snuffs out the orcs life as its rage ends. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4040)
Eiram draws back his and scans for more Orcs changing position slightly ready to let fly or doge on a split seconds notice
The elven sorcess readys her longbow to shoot the next orc to leave the builing.
Gary put in another arrow in the bowstring and scanned the area for any other targets as well.
"Marosharr," Josh shouted, "We can finish off the rabble, get to the other side of the gate and see the snipers don't get away."
Marosharr whirls past the orc further from the path, drawing Icefang and stabbing (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4041") the foul creature in passing. The blade bites crewly into the orc's flesh (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4042") and twists crewly within the wound (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4043")[/url]. Frost crystalizes around the wound (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4044") as the short blade withdraws. The orc drops lifelessly to the ground as the frost creep out from and arround the wound.
Marosharr hears the order to pursue the snipers, and souts "Sir!" He then dashes over to the gate, taking cover just around the corner in order to peer past the door as preparation to dashing through the opening and confronting the snipers.
As Marosharr peers past, something peers back at him. The lizardfolk jumps back, then runs over to its ally. The two fire arrows at the catfolk, one of them misses, but the other strikes him in the neck, dealing 15 damage.
"I'll deal with them personally," Josh says moving forward, "Finish the orc."
Josh moves over to the side near Marosharr, catching sight of the lizardfolk outside the gate. He unleashes a sonic blast that rips toward the lizardfolk whose arrow found the catfolk. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4049) The lizardfolk takes it full on, and is sent sprawling upon the stone street.
Marethial charges at the orc, and delivers a powerful blow. She cuts 16 damage out of its side. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4053) Doragon follows up with his spear. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4054) His spear sticks in and burns the orc into submission, and it falls dead. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4055)
Gary noticed that one of the lizardfolk had been killed by an ally suddenly. He shook his head and tried to steady his aim for a shot at the other one. It would be a difficult hit to make, as it was behind some cover.

The bolt strikes the wall and shatters. Malakin moves forward past Josh, and over closer to the lizardfolk until he's in range to strike it with his spear. The spear is easily maneuvered past the wall and into the lizardfolk. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4058) 19 points of health are ripped from its scales. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4059) The lizardfolk falls.
Josh moves forward, outside the gates. He looks around, but sees no one else coming up on the temple. He looks back to the banner, his countries colors, accented by the setting sun.
"The temple is ours," Josh proclaims.
A cheer rises up from the soldiers.
"Gather the prisoners and escort them back to HQ, then send some men to secure the equipment in the armory."
The soldiers head off with the 4 prisoners in tow. Josh then turns to the others.
"As for the rest of you, you get first pick on any masterwork equipment you can find down there."
Aireluin, from over at her position guarding the gate to the city, raises her sword in salute to the distant standard. She resumes her vigil.
Marethial goes over to Marosharr and helps to remove the arrow from his neck. She puts her hand to the wound, and it seals almost completely. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4063) She taps it again, and it heals completely. She then looks at the two arrows that hit Malakin. She helps remove them, but the wound doesn't seem that severe.
"I think you'll be fine after a night's rest." She tells him, "If you take anymore, I'll be here to heal it then."
Marosharr rubs his neck where the wound has healed, and addresses Marethial; "My thanks for the aid, I didn't fancy having two holes to breath with."
Having been thinking about what Josh said about arming from the temple's stores, Marosharr addresses The higher ranking soldier. "Sir, I don't expect to find any equipment more suitable than what I have already been provided. Shall I stand watch while the others re-arm themselves?"
"Maybe not, but some of us seem less properly equipped," Josh turns to the insectile ninja, "Chavez, see if you can find a proper crossbow and kukri for yourself. When the men return, we're moving onto the graveyard. We have a rogue to track down."
Gary shook his head in confusion when he was asked to get a "kukri". Unfortunately Josh left and started talking to someone else before he could figure out what it was. Shrugging and clicking his mandibles, (he had to admit he was getting used to them, adaption was a great preserver of sanity in times of trouble) he trudged into the armory and got this weird curvy knife that he thought looked cool, and a less rusty crossbow. Then he picked up three cases of bolts. You can always use more bolts.
"It was nothing realy.." Malakin mumbles.. "thanks, though I hope I will not require your attention in the future"
Malakin leans against a wall and waits silently for the others to return...
"All set then," Josh asks seeing Gary return, and he could see his troops coming back through the gate, "The temple is secured, we now check the graveyard. No telling what they may have done there."
Taking Josh's statement as an order, Marosharr slips out the gate, with his sword sheathed again and bow in hand, scouting ahead of the group. Stalking silently and stealthily towards the graveyard, he moves from cover to cover, staying in what shadows there are to conceal his advance, and keeping an eye and an ear out for any more orcs or goblins.
{ooc: Assuming we're still using the geography of the saltmarsh map, it's about 250 feet from the temple gate to the edge of the cemetary, so Marosharr should roll five or six listen, and spot checks, and twice as many hide and move silently checks, assuming he doesn't spot or otherwise encounter any enemies before reaching the edge of the graveyard.}
OOC: Let's just go with taking 10 for now. I told you it would only be important if I ask for it, and since you're doing it as a constant, I'll only ask for a roll when it actually matters.
Malakin moves out with the rest of the people headding towards the grave yard, allowing marosharr plenty of room to scout..
OOC: nothings happening at the gate then?
As they begin to head out, a cart cuts around the corner and stops inside the gate. It's doors and sides open, and out pop the gnome, dwarf and desmodu from before. The dwarf and desmodu set to work gathering up the possessions of the defeated enemies. The gnome oversees all of it, typing away furiously on his tablet.
"Gilman?" Marethial says questioning the gnome.
"Ah, yes, Lieutenant Avalon, Sergeant Marethial, lovely to see you again." He gives a pleasant response, "I heard of your exploits at the temple, and knew you'd need someone to help sort out everything, along with your new found spoils."
The Desmodu and dwarf begin organising all the gear taken from the orcs and lizardfolk.
"Now let's see." The gnome and dwarf look over the items one by one, until all the items have been examined, "Well, you've found quite a bit, it seems the enemy keeps its troops well equipped. Here's what we identified: 2 masterworks longbows (750 GP), 2 +1 Large Greatclubs (4620 GP), 2 +1 spears (4604 GP), 4 vials of poison (2 black adder, 2 blue whinnis, 480 GP), 2 masterwork Greatswords (700 GP), 20 masterwork falchions (7500 GP), 4 masterwork chainmails (1200 GP), 16 Masterwork Studded Leathers (2800 GP), 54 javelins (54 GP), Cloak of Resistance +1 (1000 GP), +1 spiked full plate (2700 GP), 16 potions of cure moderate wounds (4800 GP), 4 potions cure serious wounds (3000 GP), 4 potions of haste (3000 GP), 20 Potions of Bull's Strength (6000 GP), 20 keen edge oils (15000 GP), and 300 GP. Full value: 58508."
"That's more than last time," Josh says with surprise.
"Indeed, but I fear we must bring up a bit about our fee." The gnome approaches the knight.
"Fee?" Josh replies, "You will already be properly compensated by the king for your services, what more is there?"
"Identification costs. If you're going to bring in so many potions and other wondrous items, we need to make up for the cost by asking a little something in return. 100 GP per magic item identified, which means 7000 GP for this group. We don't include the fee for first time customers, but after the amount you brought in last time, we figured it was absolutely neccessary."
"Well, it's not too bad. Very well, deduct the identification costs from the total amount."
"Then your new total is 51508 GP. Divided amongst you-"
"Not yet," Josh stopped the gnome, "Not everyone in my unit is here. I feel they must be paid the same as the rest of us for their hard work. Hold onto your GP for now, we shall take our fair shares once everyone is here. We planned to meet back up at the Temple of Fharlanghn, we shall check back with you there. For now, my unit will be taking whatever items they feel they may need."
[ret-con]
Maroshar selects a haste potion and two Keen Edge oils from the available items, slipping them into one of his belt pouches for easy access, before slipping out the gate to scout ahead.
[/ret-con]
Gilman taps away on his tablet after seeing the catfolk run off with the potions.
"Deduct 2250 from his total..."
Gary peeped up shyly and raised a clawed hand, his sleeves were still covering his arms. To his relief.
"Uhhh...I guess I should take the poisons. I mean, just thought I might be able to use them and...stuff" He said, quailing under the pressure of being the centre of attention and looking downward. He began to just finish the sentence by mumbling quietly.
"While poison can be a dangerous thing," Marethial begins to speak, "Such measures may be neccessary in a time of war. Use them wisely."
"If everyone is finished, it's off to the graveyard." Josh proclaims and begins to head out of the gates.
Edit: Meanwhile (FINALLY), over at the brewery, Amarillis moves in through the sword and stands to the side. She sees an opening in the boxes and takes a shot through it with her longbow. She sees an opening among the crates and fires upon the orc. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4082) While on target, the orc hardly winces from the 3 point hit to its shoulder. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4083)
The orcs fly into a rage, knocking over crates to give them clear shots with their javelins. The first one throws towards Amarillis, but it ends up stuck in the wall behind her. The second goes for Eiram, but it bounces off his armor and falls harmlessly at his feet. However, the third one finallystrikes him for a full 12 points of damage. A final javelin flies and misses the injured ranger. The final two orcs move to the sides of Sasha, standing on either side of the downed orc as they bring their axes down on the shifter. The first axe misses the shifter completely, but the other proves more skilled in his swing. The axe doesn't dig deep enough to hit anything vital, but still takes 13 points out of the shifter's flesh.
Saeoun sees the wounds his friends have endured, and brings a healing hand to the ranger (sacrificing detect undead to cast cure light wounds). (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4093) Zander moves in behind the cleric and throws his club at the orc Amarillis had struck. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4094) The club whaps the orc for 8 points of damage. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4095)
OOC: Finally, people at the brewery may make another move.
Sasha howls in pain and rage as the orc's axe bites deeply into her side. She whirled on the second orc, the one that had struck her. The poor bastard had incured the shifter's full wrath. Flashing steel returns the brute's favor. (1st attack - 1st primary (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4152) 23
damage (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4153) 13) And with a snarl she brings her second blade around for an equally deep slash. (2nd attack - off-hand (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4154) 29

((From what I've seen from the previous round that should have killed him. If not then the third attack is directed at the same orc, otherwise the third strike is directed at the 1st orc to swing at Sasha.))
Finally, flashing a savage grin, Sasha thrusts her longsword into the ugly brute still standing before her. (3rd attack - 2nd primary (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4156) 17

Eiram's bow strings the ground and his shoulder throbs. unwilling to let these scum be the end of him he reach for the bow again. Eiram having recovered his bow he nods to his hound to advance and attack the wounded orc at Sasha left standing on his feet.
The elven hound rushes in and jumps on top of a pile of crates in front of the wounded orc. The boxes prove a little uneven, but the dog keeps its footing. Amarillis looks about, and her hands begin to glow. She takes a 5 foot step to the right, and then releases a purified burning hands, scorching the three orcs on the right with 13 damage. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4167) The boxes before them are scorched by the flames, but manage to stand strong.
The orcs sneer beyond their burned faces. They release their next set of javelins, the first one missing, but the second hits the sorceress, dealing 8 damage. The third even drops his axe and let's fly his javelin, striking the sorceress in the chest. Fortunately, the javelin just barely misses her heart, leaving her only 8 HP less than before.
The other three orcs on the left draw their javelins again. They all aim for the elven hound responsible for the downing of their brother, but even on the unstable boxes, the hound dodges all three javelins.
Saeoun sees the wounds of his ally the sorceress, and moves to her side. The cleric puts a hand to the Amarillis' chest, and the javelins slide out from her sealing wounds. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4180) A small hole remains, all that is left that the positive energy was not able to heal at the time.
"May your wounds fester," The druid speaks, and a strange invisible curtain falls over the orcs. Already, their wounds begin to itch as the decomposition sets in.

Gary's attention was raised when that person...He was pretty sure Marethial was the name, mentioned war. He raised his head from it's usual idle position, idly looking at his strange feet. He started to rub his hands (claws?, talons?) in worry with none of the dexterity he had shown during the battle.
"A...a war? What do you mean? I thought that this was just a raid or..or something. I didn't think I'd end up in a situation like this." He said anxiously
"The city is under siege, dear aberration. Orc and lizardfolk alike are working together to take it from us, but we must not let it happen. The west side has already fallen to the invaders, but that is only for now. We shall push them back, but before we can do that, we must gather our forces for the attack. I have arranged for some help to at least stop the lizardfolk from infiltrating the city further, but it will need to be done under the cover of night and with the help of our allies. They have yet to return from the Temple of Pelor, but I have a feeling they're holding their own elsewhere."
Gary looked downwards and mumbled something that the others could barely hear. "I'm not an abberation. I've heard about those freaks. Like those guys who eat people's brains. I'm not like them"
He looked at his hands and wasn't so sure.
"Aberrations come in many forms, they're just the aliens of the Material World, in either mind or form. You've shown you don't have their destructive tendencies. Just because you don't look like most people doesn't mean you can't fit in. You've proven your loyalties, and that is all the military asks for," Marethial places a hand on Gary's shoulder.
Gary just put his head up. "I wasn't like this before. I can't remember before I woke up here, but I know I wasn't always like this."
Sasha watched the hound finish the orc, then launch itself at the next one. She smirked and turned her own attention, and her silvered steel, to face the other orc who had swung at her.
Her first swing is on target. The orc begins to lose itself to its wounds and falls to the floor, dead.

Edit: Guess not now.
The 4 remaining orcs lob another volley of javelins, aiming for Eiram and Sasha. All the javelins either miss or bounce off their armor.
Zander grows tired of the orcs, and readies his sling. He begins to gain momentum in his swing, but looses his grip, the sling ending up hitting the back wall behind him. OOC: All that's left is Amarillis. Good luck, DV.
Gary had been idly poking around the area, and noticed a bag on the merchant's cart. It was full of spiked triangular metal things. He could definitely see how they could come in handy.
He raised the bag into view and shouted to Gilman, "Hey. How much is this?" he asked
"2300 GP, my boy, though it's worth it the more you use it," Gilman's eyes saw the light crossbow Gary carried, "You seem to be something of a sniper. Perhaps you'd be interesting in a sight for your crossbow. Perfect for making those long ranged hits. Only 150 GP, and I can have it fitted in a matter of minutes."
Gary knew a bargain when he saw one...or when someone else told him that it was a bargain. "I'll take it." he muttered, giving the money over to Gilman.
Gilman took the money and handed the bag to Gary, who handed over his crossbow. Gilman went inside the cart, and 5 minutes later, came out with the crossbow. It was still the same, but two scopes had been set on it, the first screwed onto stock of the crossbow, and the second fixed to the front, screwed on either side of an opening where the bolt could still fly through.
"Make sure to only use it for the longe shots, it'll be too slow for closer shots." Gilman said handing it back over.

The orcs snarl, breathing heavily, then slower, and slower, and slower. The orc in front of Sasha falls backward and lies dying on the floor. The two orcs that remain drop their weapons, raise their hands in the air. The orc in front of the two dogs looks at them shakily. Zander calls off his wolf, then looks to Eiram.
The man tied up in a chair tries to move in his chair, but ends up falling over on his side.
As a healer, Saeoun is naturally concerned. He quickly moves to the person tied in the chair, first removing the gag, then working out the knots. At the same time, he assesses the wounds (if any) and general health of the captive. In a gentle voice, he says, "Hold still, we will have you out in a second."
As the gag is removed, the man coughs and sputters, running his tongue over his teeth to get the taste of the dirty cloth out of his mouth.
"Thank You," He finally said getting up from his undone bonds, "Those ruffians burst in here, waving this shiny goblet in the air and knocking me to the ground. The next thing I knew I was tied up and forced to watch as they down my supplies like the greedy bastards they were. I believe I've seen that goblet before, during the sermons at the Cathedral. There it is."
He points to a gold cup that had rolled to the side of some crates. It's rim was encrusted with red gems set a half inch away from each other around the outside. He then notices the man who untied him was looking him over.
"I believe I'm alright, aside from this nasty bump they gave me," He rubs a large swollen area on his balding scalp, "I must thank you for saving me, it's the least I could do. Ah, I know."
He begins checking around his crates, looking for something.
with a whistle and a tap of his toe Eiram calls his hound to his side. he rubmes his hound between the ears praising his subvocally.

Sasha took a single step back as the orc before her fell from the ranged attack. The shifter glance from one of the remaining orcs to the other, watching as their weapons clanked to the floor of the tavern. A growl of disappointment rumbled in her throat as she glared at the would-be invaders. She snorts as they alllow Amarillis to bind them then finally sheathes her blades.
Turning her attention to the original reason for being there Sasha shifts back to her normal form as she crosses the room. Crouching at the crates she picks up the goblet and crosses back over to Amarillis. "The goblet has been recovered, ma'am."
"Here we are," The man said finally pulling out a rectangular box. He pried off the lid to reveal 5 bottles.
"I got these a short while ago, heard they sharpened a person's senses. Thought they might prove useful in case any of my best customers might decide to actual walk themselves home after a rowdy night. I already mixed them with alcohol, though the stuff isn't that powerful. Should still make for some fun."
He hands the box over to Zander after he had picked up his club.
Amarillis acepts the goblet and adds it into her harverstack.
Thank you, favored of the companions Sasha.

The clerics following Saeoun enter the brewery, seeing that the fight was over. Two of them prepare a stretcher and lay the injured orc upon it, while the others begin gathering the bodies. A shaky Joulzen mills about them gathering the equipment of the fallen orcs. Zander has the two orcs that remain standing help with the bodies.
"Ah, allow me to fetch a cart for all that," The man says rushing off into the back. Moments later, he appears back out front with an open cart and mule.
They begin piling the bodies into the back, along with the equipment. The two clerics with the stretcher carry the orc alongside.
"I suppose we should be returning to the cathedral now," Zander tells Amarillis, "Everything looks ready to go here."
Upon seeing the goblet, Saeoun starts forward, an expression of extreme interest on his face. Facing Amarillis, he says, "You are correct, it is from the Cathedral. A powerful Holy item, used for blessing water. I would like to carry it, if I may."
http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4298
"Well, let's get it back to the temple," Zander says taking the driver's seat in the cart. The back of the cart was filled up, only the passenger seat remained.
"At least it isn't much of a walk back."
Saeoun nods at Zander's suggestion, motioning for his clerics to follow and walking behind the cart.
The group heads out, and makes it back to the cathedral in a matter of minutes. The clerics haul in the stolen items and three living orcs, and Saeoun leads the way into the cathedral. The priest is there to greet them.
"Welcome back. Ah! And I see you brought back the sacred vessel. Thank you, Saeoun, Pelor truly shines down upon you. The clergy and I shall see to the rest."
The priest takes the Sacred Vessel from Saeoun. He stares at it for a moment, then presents it to Saeoun once more.
"You have served the forces of good well, my boy, and I believe you shall serve them even better with this to aid you. I only asked that it may be returned once this horrible siege is over. I will make sure that there is still a cathedral to return it to when this is all over."
Saeoun bows, and accepts the goblet. "Thank you, friend. I will bring it back when the invaders are repulsed, you have my word."
"Thank you for your aid in the tavern." The shifter nodded to Saeoun as she thanked him. "But, we shouldn't linger here. There are still more invaders within the city's walls." Sasha stated, matter of factly, as she moved to stand beside Aramillis. Her eyes kept glancing back to the doors as if worried of another assualt on the temple.
"We should meet up with the others at the third temple," Zander told them, "At least, that was the plan once we had finished things here at the Cathedral."
The group heads back to the cart outside and leaves, heading for the Temple. As they begin to pass the wrought iron fence of the graveyard, a familiar catfolk jumps out from behind the corner. Moments later, Josh and the rest of his team appear as well.
"Ah, Saeoun, Amarillis, I see you've settled things at the Cathedral," Josh said looking at the cart, "Send any supplies or equipment you may have confiscated to the Temple of Kord, Gilman set up shop there and should be able to start assessing their value, and my men can deal with the prisoners and bodies. With that out of the way, I'll need you to come back here. We'll be entering the graveyard soon, as one of my team mates was taken there by some of the orcs. I don't know what that place may hold for us, but having a cleric will certainly help things."
The cart is taken to the grounds of the Temple of Kord, and Gilman and Co. get to work sorting everything while Zander returns.
Marosharr reaches the intersection of the street that runs next to the grave yard, and glances down it in either direction from the protection of the shadows. He spies a group of soldiers and priests approaching, and slips back up the street to report to Lt. Josh.
The catfolk returns to the main body and addresses his commander. "Sir, there is a group of what appears to be out people approaching from the north west."
Josh nods in acknowledgement of Marosharr's report, and continues towards the intersection.
Marosharr says "By your leave," then darts forward again, and turns the corner ahead of the main group.

As the two groups exchange thier greetings and orders, Marosharr slips over to the wrought iron fence, and peers between it's bars, out across the lawn of the graveyard, looking for any sign of the enemy forces amongst the headstones and stone buildings, as twilight shrouds the scene in shades of grey cut through with and stark black shadows.
Marosharr sees little more than rows of tombstones with winding paths around three low hills. At the top of each hill is an ornate stone crypt, standing in the moonlight. Looking up, he can see that the top of the fence surrounding the cemetery is adorned with patterns of evergreen leaves.
"Enter with care, troops," Josh says walking through the iron gates, followed closely by Marethial.
Josh moves along a path between the graves, looking from left to right.
"Hey, you!" A voice yells out to them, "What are you doing here?"
A rather hairy human comes running up to them with a shovel in hand and a full sack over his shoulder.
"I am Lieutenant Josh Avalon of the royal army," Marethial whispers in his ear, "Have I been correctly informed that you are Noshi the caretaker of Saltmarsh Cemetery?"
"That I am, sir" Noshi says standing erect and saluting the lieutenant, "What is your business here, sir?"
"We are searching for a subordinate of mine that had been carried off by some orc invaders. Have you seen two orcs carrying an elf woman by any chance?"
"No sir, but I did find this," Noshi let's down the sack on the ground. The sack opens to reveal three sets of armor and weapons. Marethial kneels down, and her blade begins to glow with light, illuminating the contents of the sack.
"Someone look them over," Josh says pointing to the sack, "What of the equipment's owners?"
"I found nothing but the gear, sir. I don't know where they went."
Marosharr walks 10-20 feet ahead of the main group, eyes and ears peeled for any suspicious activity. Well, any activity, really, as this is a graveyard, and any activity would rather be suspicious.
He puts his hand to his short sword as the Caretaker runs up to the party, but relaxes as Josh addresses the man with apparent recognition. As the two talk, the agile catfolk wanders about, keeping within 10-20 feet of the group, within earshot of the conversation, watching for any signs of movement... or clues to the wherabouts of the owners of the armor and clothes found by the caretaker.
(I think that searching gear means I can take 20, right?)
Gary looks through the gear, trying to see if there is anything out of the ordinary.
...Taking about 2 minutes to do so. *egg timer*
OOC: You may, but it would take you a full 2 minutes to look them over that thoroughly.
"I'm asking you to check the contents, not find an interplanar portal." Josh says after about a minute.
While Josh and Gary, and presumably everyone else, is occupied in examining the gear that Noshi brought to them, Marosharr approaches the man to ask some questions.
"Where did you find that gear?"
"How was it laying around?"
"Are any of the crypts where you find the armor open or easily entered?"
"Are any of them large enough for many people to hide in?"
He asks the questions at a reasonable pace, leting Noshi answer each before asking the next.
"I found them lying on the ground past the hill. It was rather strange, no signs of the owners anywhere. I was planning to take them to the military when you showed up."
Gary finally finished looking over the contents top to bottom. The gear from two of the sets were made by orc hands, and the final one is the equipment of the elf rogue that went missing. There are small streaks of blood on the armors, but hardly enough to warrant a deadly wound if they were inside the armor. There were also a few drops of an unidentifiable white substance, almost a goo of some sort.
Before Gary can say anything, a noise sounded further into the graveyard. For the keener eared, it almost sounds like the rapid shifting of soil. The fog begins to clear, and four shadowy figures can be seen by those with low light vision. Marethial raises her sword.
"What is it?" Josh asks.
"Graverobbers, I believe." Marethial answers.
Marosharr breaks off in mid question, turning towards the sound of shifting earth. He drops into a crouch and draws his sword as the shadowy figures come forward through the dim remains of twilight. The cat folk focuses his keen eyes, trying to discern any detains of the approaching four figures, but is unable to due to distance and the cloying gloom. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4324)
Marosharr moves obliquely towards the figures, keeping some head stones between him and them, in order to get a better look. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4325)
Everyone else moves towards the figures, and the caretaker crouches next to Marosharr.
The figures look humanoid, though their appearance is still hard to discern. One stands before a coffin, and another bends over and touchs the ground. A moment later, a coffin pops up, the earth rolling off it and back into the grave. The first pulls open his coffin, and then grabs the corpse inside. It stuffs it into a sack, which retains it's shape despite just having a human body shoved into it.
The other three figures continue to raise coffins and take the bodies. They still don't notice the group approaching. One of them stops and looks around, but then returns to the coffin it stands over.
"What're they doing here?" Noshi asks Marosharr, "I can't see anything."
"I can't tell what they are. They're using magic and taking bodies."
He moves closer still, using the cover of the head stones to stay hidden (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4326), and ready to dash off at a direction perpendicular to that of his companions. He pads as softly as posbile (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4327) so as not to aleart his quary, and takes a better look (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4328) at what they are and what they are doing.
Gary looked up to see the guy pad away softly. He didn't like being the centre of attention so he shyly moved away quietly and followed him, keeping his crossbow at attention. He used his darkvision to look at the source of the noise as he walked

"WHAT?" Screamed the caretaker. He got right up, as Marosharr slinked off, and marched towards the figures, "YOU THERE," He shouts, "STOP RIGHT THERE."
The figures get up from the coffins and look at the caretaker. As he gets close to them, the nearest one pulls back and throws a punch at the man. The man dodges, barely, but the others move in. The second lands a blow, but Noshi stands strong. The next one lays a powerful blow, and sends the caretaker into the ground. A bulge of earth is all that remains.
The scout and ninja get a look at the perpetrators, and they don't appear to be of the living. These shrunken and disfigured humanoid carcasses move under the power of its own animation, though the details of its shape are blurred beneath a coating of filth and grave dirt. They stare out with bulging eyeballs and silent with a sewn mouth.
"Troops," Josh commands, "repulse these undead thieves.
Josh begins to move closer, when suddenly a pair of ghostly figures rise from the ground. These wavering figures begin a song. The haunting melody echoes through the air, calling for the group to dance. The music makes their souls shrivel, but it also makes them smile, How can something be so awful and so wonderful at the same time?

Min then runs as fast as he can in the direction his master and friend, Quav, commanded.

Marosharr jumps out from behind the headstones, and rushes up to stab at the nearer of the two ghostly figures. He springs towards it. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4338) His short sword bites into the ethereal figure (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4341), and the cold effect (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4344) seems to cause the ghostly substance to whiten and craze in the area of the wound. His attack executed, Marosharr springs back again to a distance of thirty feet, and at an angle, taking him away to the left side of the group of enemies perpendicular to the direction of the rest of the party.
Sasha grinded her teeth as she watched the two figures desicrating the finaaly resting places of those who had shuffled off the mortal coil. At her commanders command the shifter leap from her crouching postion. Her advance tthough was stopped short as the ghostly dou rose up and began their ghastly tune. Sasha wanted to ignore the huanting melody but found herself unable to ignore it. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4346) The shift found herself at its mercy.

Saeoun only shows disdain for the song of the dead. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4370) As if possessed by his deity, Saeoun steps forward and raises his symbol of Pelor above his head. His power shines as if from a person beyond even his own power. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4368) A blinding light radiates from the sun of Pelor, and the crypt chanters discoporate into the mist, and an entomber is reduced to dust and grave dirt. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4369) With the song of the chanters silenced, Sasha and Eiram find their minds free from the melody.
OOC: Sasha and Eiram can both make their moves this turn now that the song has been silenced. Net's character also still has a move to make.
"Know that you are not welcome here, undead," Josh says to them with sword outstretched. He releases a gout of fire breath, burning the entomber Gary had pegged, for 19 damage. OOC: Sorry im late ;)
Malakin shows little need to shake off its effects as the song has stopped.
OOC: THEY'RE DEAD! EVERYONE CAN MOVE NORMALLY NOW! The Crypt Chanter's song dazes creatures only as long as the song is played. Since it has stopped, you can still make your turn this round.
OOC: woops sorry :P thats what i get for ariving late >.<
Malakin advances on the closest opponent, spear down and ready to react to anything they might attempt..
OOC: edit how far away are they ?
With the song of the spirits fading in her ears Sasha was finally able to shake off the effects of their wicked song. With a growl she pulls both her blades and advances on the defilers. ((I assume they're within 30'. If not then disregard the following attack.))
The shifter swings her silvered blade at the first unfortunate creature to fall within her reach. (Attack (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4383) 21 damage (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4384) 10)
((edit: actually the attack roll should be 23 since she's not attacking with both swords this round, there's no penalty. Damage isn't effected by that.))
OOC: About 30 feet away.
The blade slices right through the entombers flesh, leaving a nasty wound made nastier by the accumulation of grave dirt.
"Ranger," Josh calls out, "fill that entomber with arrows. We'll down him soon enough."

though in this case it did him precious little good.
The three entombers look to the scout nearby and surround him. They each take a swing, but prove too slow to keep up with the catfolk.
"Come now," Josh shouts approaching the undead, "Surely you can't be that pathetic?"
Josh draws his sword and stares down the entomber closest to him, leaving it shaking in its filth.
Marethial moves up with him, keeping her guard up.
OOC: the new round is here.
Marosharr easily dodges the clumsy blows of the foul undead creatures. He somersaults along the line of the ghastly creatures away from the party. His acrobatic maneuver allows him to avoid the first (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4424) and second (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4425) of the rotting creatures with relative ease, and the third is unable to attack him as he shoots past, lashing out with his sword (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4426) and disorienting it while he slips past, though his blade strikes with little force, meerly dislodging some grave dirt as it glances off the creature's leathery dessicated skin. He moves past them, back towards where they had first stood, and a little beyond that.
With a Roar and flash of light a glowing bear appears in posision to flank the entomer fighting Sasha, the celestial Bear attempts to aid sasha's attack,
Since the bear just needs to hit AC 10 and got a 15, Sasha's first attack this round gains a +4 to hit (+2 flanking,+2 aid attack), and +2(flanking) for every other attack.
meanwhile, Amerlilis casts Cat's grace on Sasha (sasha's Dex mod changes to +7)
Sasha was, at first, surprised by the bear's sudden appearance, but when it attacked the entomber she gives it no further thought and continues her own assault. Using the animal's attack to her advantage Sasha flanks the enemy and lashes out. To the shifter's dismay her first two attacks are not nearly as effective as she would have liked.

The entomber is reduced to nothing but dirt and a bag left at its side.
Eiram draws his bow again aims at the tomb tumbler nearest him. His first volley had wasted three arrows he only hoped that this second one did not.

shot3 (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4435)
The second shot hits the entomber, dealing 8 damage total.
OOC: it seems that an entomber was not destroyed in the greater turning attempt. The chanters had turn resistance, and didn't leave enough HD damage for the entomber. There are now 3 entombers left, since the 4th was just taken out by Sasha. The 3 are the ones near Marosharr.
Malakin now moves into range of the closest entomber with his spear and attacks swiftly:
To hit = 30 (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4441)
Dammage = 19 (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4442)
Even with its toughened hide, the entomber still get hit hard for 14 points of damage.

OOC: Yes folks it's true, a critical hit with a spell will deal double damage. That does means it's limited to spells that you make an attack roll for, but that's impressive nonetheless.
The two remaining entombers look in time to see the third reduced to nothing, and look to the cleric responsible. They both try to move in but the first is stopped by Malakin's spear. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4521) The spear hits hard, but it's only thanks to the entombers hide that it manages to still move. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4522)
They both reach the cleric and take swings at him, but his armor proves too tough for them to get through.
Just then, a small rumbling is heard, and a hand burst up from the ground. It pulls itself out from the loose soil, and with a roar followed by a few coughs, reveals itself to be the caretaker who had been "entombed" earlier. Marethial rushes over to help him, but Josh turns to the entomber that had been responsible in the first place. He moves in and lays his sword upon the entomber. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4523) His sword musters up 5 points of damage. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4524) However, his blade burns even further with it's holy power, and the undead is engulfed in holy fire and reduced to ash. "You are the last, undead, and you shall recieve no quarter," Josh announces.

"Well done," Josh says sheathing his sword, "And a I offer my gratitude to the new arrivals. Step forward and reveal your identities."
Quav walked forward and introduced himself, "Hello I am glad me and my ... companion could help you." He didn't want to reveal that Min was his slave yet especially since it might no t go over well with the group of adventurers. Min walked over to his master and said, "Besides no thanks is really needed. My name is Min and the Drow you see there is named Quav."
(OOC: sorry for missing a turn before, I had some RL drama to handle)
"I...am called Keothi...Keothi Gathakanathi." Keothi stands, broad shoulders framing a powerfully large physique, his torso and arms wrapped in a ghostly-looking cloth. He walks forward a few steps, bowing lightly to Josh, large hands folded tightly at his chest: "You seemed as if you needed some assistance." He glanced at the other adventurers, nodding sagely in their direction "and to be included in a group as this to fight against those...foul creatures...was most gratifying."
Josh looks to the goliath, and then to the drow. He slows draws his sword, "You have shown a hint of loyalty to the crown. Do you swear to uphold the interests of the kingdom, and oppose its enemies, no matter their form?"
"My loyalty is to myself and my companion.. If you don'ike that then fine. I have nothing against those who are loyal to the crown and the kingdom," Quav said eyeing the sword. "It's a little complicated. The Kingdom could see Quav as an enemy along with me or, considering how most drow act, think I'm his slave. That in turn makes people dislike us, maybe even hate us. So, in turn we tend to try to look out for ourselves rather than everyone else," Min said trying to explain everything.
Josh quirks an eye, and Marethial leans forward, "Some things are better left unsaid. This is war, so do you at least agree to fight for the kingdom?"
It's not as if all of us are loyal to this kingdom. After all they are but humans, as you must understand, Drow. If I may inquire are you one of the followers of the moonlight goddess? There seems to be a aura of light around you, and you do not bear any spider tokens. It would truly be a event to meet one of the sundered that wishes to make peace with the light. O:)
"We will fight for the kingdom as long as no one attacks me or Min," Quav said as he looked at Marethial in the eye. He then sighed and said, "It is true my veiw towards other races are very different than most drow. While some things about me make me different than other drow. There are some things that are the same."
"As long as you don't oppose the kingdom, the kingdom will not oppose you," Josh taps his sword on the shoulders of the drow. He looks to his sword once more, then continues to tap the shoulders of the catfolk.
"From here on, you shall follow my orders. Adhere to my words, and you shall live to see peace restored to this country." He then turns to the goliath, "And what of you, Gathakanathi? Will you follow us in this fight?"
The giant clenches his eyes tightly shut, collecting his thoughts after the conversation between Josh and the Drow. He turns to face him: "I am on the side of right...if your quest is righteous, then I will have no qualms of aligning myself with you..."
He stands fully upright, broad shoulders filling out his large frame as he looks Josh directly in the eye "and I trust you will not try to decieve me."
"We are as we appear to be, noble monk," Josh sheaths his swords, "Soldiers trying to defend their town under siege. Gather the bags from the dirt and the equipment we found."
Marethial picks up one of the bags the entombers were carrying. Noshi also picks up a bags and digs inside it with his hand. He appears to grab something and pulls it out. It reveals itself to be the corpse dressed in soiled finery.
"I knew it, they were trying to steal bodies," Noshi proclaims.
Marethial opens her bag and pull out another body, and then another.
"They were using bags of holding, certainly a lot easier than hauling the bodies off over their shoulders." Marethial says looking to the caretaker.
"Hold on, bring that light over here."
Marethial comes over and shines her sword over the body.
"I thought something was not right," Noshi says looking at the body, "all the jewelry is missing. Someone's pilfered them."
"It couldn't have been the entombers, the gems would have just been a plus with the bodies for their necromancer master."
"Thieving rogues, no doubt."
"We shall look into the problem when the town walls aren't have boulders thrown at them," Josh picks up the two remaining bags, and empties out the remaining bodies, "For now, gravekeeper, you should seek safety, we're escorting refuges out of town-"
"No, I must lay these bodies back in their graves. It is my duty as caretaker."
"Very well, I doubt the enemy should have any more interest in the dead," Josh turns back to his men and women, "Troops, we return to resupply ourselves at the Cathedral of Kord before helping the rest of the refuges at the final temple. Mr. Chavez, bring the bag of equipment. Marethial, carry the other two bags."
If there's any potions or oil in there hand them to me, and I'll idenify them for free.
"You could try, There are about 24 in the there," Marethial tells her.
Sasha snorted as she wiped her blades clean before sheathing them. She only half listened as new introductions were made, her main concern was on what Marethial and Noshi were discussing. The shifter walks over to the two and ponders a possibility as Amerlilis offers to identify some of the recovered goods. She looks up at her commander. "Sir, could it be possible that the necromancer that sent these abominations to collect more materials is working with the invaders? Or just taking advantage of the chaos?" Sasha furrowed her brow. "And with a necromancer about, old bodies may not be his, or her, only target of acquisition. With such a fight raging all over the city and its walls, we should spread word to watch over the newly dead."
I will check these 20, I may walk with you but I will have to concentrate.

Amerillis identifies 5 potions of cure light wounds, 5 of invisibility, 2 of jump, and 2 of shield of faith.
"The lizardfolk and orcs aren't known for their intelligence or knack for necromancy," Marethial speaks to Sasha, "They may have other allies though that are proficient in necromancy. The undead that snuck in were particularily human looking, and did so very soon after the siege started, meaning whoever sent them knew that this siege was going to happen."
The group returns to the temple, and Josh sends two men back to the graveyard to be on watch. The rest of the equipment is turned over to Gilman and Co.
"It'll take a moment," Gilman says handing the bag over to the desmodu, "though it shouldn't take as long since your sorceress seems to be checking over some of the potions."
I'm not sure what these are, *hands the 6 un-ID to the merchants* but these 5 are weak curetive potions, these 5 confer invisbilty, these 2 increase ones jumping proress, and these 2 prodoce a effect that my brother calls a "shield of faith"

"11?" Josh mulls over, "But where did..." Josh looks back and sees some of his people missing.
"Oh, you didn't know, they said they were headed off to the last temple, to get the last of the refuges out. Night has fallen, and they wanted to do it before losing anymore daylight."
"We won't need them for what I have planned in any case," Marethial says stepping towards Simon, "Are those disks I ordered ready?"
"Indeed they are, madam. That'll be 3600 GP for the 4 disks, like we agreed."
"What did order, Mary?" Josh asks. Marethial whispers in his ear. Josh raises the crest of his brow, "It'll be risky, but it's a brilliant way to cut off the enemy's efforts. Simon, take the 3600 from my account."
Simon taps his fingers upon his tablet some more, then gestures to Rawk. Rawk hands over the 4 discs, which marethial stows away in her pack.
"If anyone would like to keep any of the equipment we recently came across, say so now. We'll be leaving shortly."
Ah, before you go, I would like to order a thought bottle, I should have enough, with the treasure gained next time.
Marosharr looks over the displayed equipment is evident distain, until his gaze chances to fall on the pair of leather gloves. He picks up the gloves of dexterity and checks thier fit. "Merchant, I would have these gloves." The catfolk dons the gloves, and retrieves his remaining share of gold, putting it in his haversack.

"Well, that's 4000 GP off your earnings, so it should be alright. Your earnings are now down to 2801 GP, 7 SP. Oh, and we are keepings accounts with valued customers, simply write down your name and money you are depositing, and we'll keep it safe for you. With the amount of gold you've earned it may be preferable to lugging around several hundred lbs in coins." Simon suggested holding out his tablet and a quill.
Marosharr realizes that the ammount of gold is much heavier than he had thought it would be. He grunts and leaves the gold, and the feline characters of his signature, with Simon.
Ah, much more conventent, here is 15600 gp and 20pp, signs with her crest at the end of her first name (instead of sur).
Sasha looked over the piled gains. She found no interest in any of the weapons or armor gathered, nor any of the potions or other nicknacks. The haver sack though, she had seen one before. "Sir merchant." She addressed Gilman. I will take this from my share, if you please." Sasha pulls the Heward's Handy Haversack from the pile. Moving her few possessions from her old pack to the new one the shifter leaves the pack with the pile and shoulders the haversack. She turns to face Josh. "Ready when you are, sir"
"Very well, that brings your latest earnings down to 4801 GP, 7 SP with the Haversack." Simon says not even needing to use his tablet.
"We'll all need to be moving light for this next mission," Marethial tells the group, "I suggest making an account with Simon to hold onto our gold for now. If you haven't noticed, 10000 coins do weigh 200 lbs."
Sasha regarded her command for a brief moment before nodding. "Yes, sir." The shifter had not truly thought about her share of the spoils beyond her immediate needs. She turned to the master merchant. "If possible, I would like to utilize your accounting option."
"Simply sign your name on the tablet and tells us how much you are depositing, along with actually giving us the gold afterward. We shall hold it for you until you wish to withdraw, though you may continue to make purchases from our store without the need to withdraw." Simon holds out the tablet and ink quill again.
Malakin steps forward and begins shuffleing through the equipment, finding nothing worth while at the moment, he turns to Marethial and asks "And what exactly is involved in this next mission?"
Marethial steps forward and whispers in Malakin's ear.
If I may suggest, It is quite dark and we have been fighting for over a day without rest, while the Drow maybe happy in the dark, I need my trance, Since the good merchents have my wagon with them, may I suggest we move over to that building and make camp for the night? I have a large pot, some firewood and some elven trail rations and sausage. I also have a half barrel on supports, a bucket and alot of soap. And I need to change.
"No, we'll require the cover of nightfall for this mission to be a success, and it must be completed as soon as possible. Night had fallen only an hour ago, and we'll be able to rest much more easily after we've tied up this loose end."
Marosharr stands to attention and focuses his attention on Josh, ready to hear what this next mission is.
"hWhat iss the battle plan?"
Marethial steps towards Marosharr and whispers in his ear.
The catfolk nods as she confers her plan to him, then a slightly puzzled look crosses his muzzle. He whispers back a question to her.
A brief whispered conversation ensues. After the brief conversation, Marosharr turns away with a somewhat worried, yet resolute, look on his face, and begins making his gear ready.

Very well, but while I am not familer with the vision capabilties of dragonborn, catfolk and whatever the ninja is. I and the humans cannot see in the dark, I can see better than the humans, and my vision is becoming limited. That puts us in a weakened state, as well is we find more undead they will be much more powerful. As well, we will soon tire weakening us even more.
The dark catfolk speaks up. "I cannot sspeak for the others, but ghive me but a little light to ssee by and I can do my duty well enough." He reaches into his sack and pulls forth a lantern. "An' we need go into darkened passagess, a good sscout is not chaught unprrepaired."
Ah, so a lantern will not be a hinderance, still since rest will become a problem for the non-elven members soon I suggest that we keep out a eye for those who are becoming tired.
Looking over the spoils gained and grabed the Shock Rapier +1 and replaced it with his Rapier. He then turned to Simon and says," reduce the Cost of the new rapier from my account and ad the cost of my old one buy selling it please." Afterwords he joins the others and asks, "So... what is the next course of action?"
((Yes I am a sad sad person...I would say sad sad little man but I am over 6' and aparently still growing?))
Once again, Marethial whispers in the drow's ear.
I have lantern oil in my wagon..help your self, unfortuantly my lanterns are all conceted to the wagon it's self.
Sasha turned over most of the money she was carrying and signs the tablet. 18700 gold coins in total between what she carried and the latest gain.
Once done Ssaha turns back to her commander and awaits her instructions. "Ready, sir."
Malakin follows suit and hands in the majority of his money (15697Gp)..
"I guess thats me sorted... When do we head out?"
"We at least have some moonlight to fight by, and I'm sure I could provide some illumination." Marethial says to the catfolk, "But we must be careful of the brightness, we can't let the enemy notice us."
OOC: for the sake of speeding things up since I wanted everyone to deposit their money for convenience...
Saeoun, Keothi, Gary, Eiram, Zedd and Josh all finish depositing their money with Simon.
"Alright, we've spent enough time here, let's get moving," Josh tells the rest of them.
They head off, Marethial leading the way. She leads them back past the cemetery, and hug the wall of the town. They proceed for what seems like a half hour, when a noise starts to be heard. The audible croaking of dozens of frogs starts to echo in their ears, and soon started to drown out their very footsteps.
"We're getting close," Marethial tried to say, but her voice could barely be heard over the frogs as they round the corner.
(personally i want sure how the whole meet and great with Simon thins was going to work so i was hesitating. all i really wanted out of the deal was to buy a few arrows anyway. and store the unneeded gold.)
Marethial waves the group forward. The turn the corner and head toward the source of the frog croaks. The stone street soon gives way to a gravel path, surrounded by lush grass. Fir and pine trees dot the area. They soon cross an intersection and find themselves walking by a serene wooden building. On the other side of the path is a lake, surrounded by a few willow trees. The group notices that they must watch their step, or end up squashing one of the many frogs that have been causing all the ruckus. Suddenly, the frogs fall silent. Marethial turns to the building, as a halfling dressed in leather and animal skins steps from it.
"Ferrin Kastilar, I presume?" Marethial asks.
The halfling does not answer, not in the traditional way in any case. He moves strangely, and suddenly the grass surrounding the path rises up and wraps around everyone's legs (Everyone make a Reflex Save).
Marethial manages to avoid the grasp of the plants with relative ease. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4770) And even in heavy armor, Josh manages to pull himself from the entangling plants. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4771)
6 humanoids rise from the waters of the lake. These humanoids are a little shorter than humans. Their rounded bodies are covered in fine scales, giving them the appearance of being pudgy or bloated. Their arms and legs are slender, almost willowy, ending in a broad hands and distended feet that look much like flippers. Their fishlike, bullet shaped heads have bulging, silver-black eyes and wide mouths full of sharp teeth.
One of them, holding a pincer staff, speaks in a croaky tongue. The rest close in, the entangling grasses seeming to slip right off their legs.
Quav avoids the plant's grasp with ease. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4774) Min also managaes to avoid the plant's graspe as well. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4775) After hearing what the humanoids say Quav said, "Kill them before they kill us. They are protecting a statue." Quav attempted an eldritch blst at the nearest Kuo-toan and missed horribly. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4776) Min moves in and attacks it with his scythe and unfortunately misses just as bad. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4777)
Eiram jumps (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4778) those plants what were they? (i think i made the save this time)
OOC: Kind of a duh when Zaon managed it with a 15.
Marosharr avoids the grasping blades (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4779), and rushes to attack the magic user (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4780) as the more immediate threat.

http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4783 : frost damage }
He tries to position himself to trap the halfling against the side of the building.
"No, subdue the halfling, don't harm him," Marethial shouts, "He's been charmed. No druid of Obad-Hai would willingly ally with the kuo-toans."
Marethial casts Shield of Faith on Josh, increasing his AC by 3. Josh turns to the goliath, "You heard the lady, monk, pin that halfling."
Josh turns back to the Kuo-Toans and move through the grass, moving toward the kuo-toan holding the pincer staff. He swings the blade down on the frog man. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4784) The blade sinks in for 12 damage. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4785) It flares in the wound with 7 more holy damage. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4786)
Sasha easily avoids the entangling grasp of the flora. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4787) With a growl she pulls her swords and rushes the six water dwellers that emerged from the lake. "Fowl creatures!" The shifter roared as she swung her silvered steel, cutting into the bloated, scaled flesh of her enemy. (attack (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4788) 18 damage (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4789) 8)
Malakin just walks through the plants grasp, thinking nothing of it. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4790) Much more intrested in the potential threat of the six humanoids. Hefting his spear he charges the closest target.

it seems that i miss read it as that the halfling and the magic users were two separate people with the magic user controlling the halfling but mistakes happen.
after talking with the DM and clearing up the misunderstanding the attack will be aimed at the armored kuo toad
first arrow (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4806) Damage (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4810) second arrow (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4808) damage (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4812)

Amerillis Chants <Celestial> Let the Flame of the South add it's power to my strike and let the Flame of the East carry my burning will to the slaves of darkness to cleanse their souls in holy fire<Celestial><Draconic> Fireball<Draconic>. Missing Min and the halfling she sends a small glowing ball that hits one of the kuo-toa, and explodes in a burst of golden fire.
OOC: 12+5=17 SAVE!
44 fire damage
DC 19 reflex for 22 fire damage
Since the average kuo-toa has 11 HP and a Reflex save of +3...I'd say I just Crisped a few kuo-toa. Everyone but Min and Josh in Melee should make that....High dex or evasion...or just good Reflex Saves.
Josh takes the blast full on. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4799) The kuo-toans take the blast as well. 2 of them fall, but two of them stand strong, including the one Josh attacked and the one hit full on by Malakin. The one in armor didn't even feel Sasha's blade.
OOC: E_Voyager, there is no wizard. Last I checked, wizzes didn't do entangle. Marethial called the halfling a druid, and had also said to subdue him. That means not killing him. If I count those arrows as being to the druid, he will have died, and that would mean disobeying a direct order, including killing what is practically a hostage since he's charmed. WOULD YOU LIKE TO RETHINK THAT MOVE?
After some deliberation and aiming possiblities, I have determined that while Josh WAS caught in the fireball, Min was just outside the blast radius. Also, I think you were referring to Marosharr and the halfling on the other side of the road, by the building, on the opposite side from the lake the kuo-toans emerged from. You set the fireball to blow on the end of the line, furthest from our group, but catching the most kuo-toans. This got the two on the end, but the two in the middle were stronger, and Josh was attacking the 3rd one in the line. Min attacked the 4th, and made it just out of the 20 foot blast radius. *Phew* hard being a DM sometimes.
*erased do to circumstances*
Saeoun is immobilized by the plants. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4803) Without being able to get to Josh or anyone else in need and his legs held fast, he has no idea what to do.
Amerillis fishes in her haverstack for a second and tosses a clear vial filled with a bluish-silver liquaid, to josh.
"Drink this!"
OOC: Well....Geomancers do cast entangle....and are sort of an arcane spellcasting class..But the lack of spots and horns kind of nullifess that..
In other news, Fireball is one standerd action...Removing a item from a handy haverstack is a free action...and throwing a item is a move action ... so Josh needs to make a dex check ...Let's say DC 10+2per 10ft past the first 10ft, to catch a Potion of cure light wounds and I need to make a ranged touch attack that hits his AC to throw it to him.
15+7=22 so I'd say I get it close. If he fails it drops and both he and all within a 10ft radius heal 1 HP.
With a throw from 15 feet, Josh just barely catches the bottle. However, he drops his shield in the process. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4807)
The giant easily stays ahead of the encroaching grass, moving into position to try and detain the halfling:
http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4811
He sprints at his target, quickly closing in:
(touch attack roll): http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4814
(grapple check):http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4815
Taking firm hold of the halfling, he wraps a thick forearm under his chin, lifting him off the ground and slowly applying pressure to his trachea. He holds him up, waiting just until he stops struggling:
http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=4816
The halfling proves to be little trouble for the goliath, and can only struggle vainly in his grasp.
Marethial moves behind Josh, before the grass tries to entangle her again.
The second arrow manages to pierce the Kuo-toan's armor, dealing 7 damage.
Also, the unarmored kuotoan struck by Malakin bleeds heavily from the wound, but still stands.
Out of no-where a winged person, gracefully flies low picking put a rock near the kuo-toans and getting their attation. Flying past them and drops down near the lake. Casting daylight on a rock that he had in his hand and drops it into the lake but not before them seeing the blinding daylight because of there eye sight. Then flies up and away from the lake.
A collective cry comes from the kuo-toans as they throw up their hands, trying to block the light from entering their bulbous eyes. Quav also closes his eyes from the sudden flash, even though he has adapted to the light, the quickness of the light was too much.
The kuo-toans flail about blindly. There attacks are easily dodged by everyone.
The grass grabs at Josh once more, but he pulls free. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5035) Marethial stays away from their grasp as well. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5037)
Marethial proves to be more potent this time, healing 28 points of damage. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5039)
With his foe blind, Josh finds it unsporting to attack. Instead, he takes the time to drink the potion Amarillis threw to him.
Min manages to avoid the grasp of the plants again as he moves over to the unarmored Kuo-Toan. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5047) Min manages to hit the Kuo-toan (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5048) and cause 6 damage to it. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5049)
Quav was temporarily blinded by the burst of light and was entangled by the plant's graspe. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5050)In his blind state Quav casts Dark one's Own luck and increases his current reflex by +4. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5051)
The kuo-toan is taken off guard, but still stands.
Marosharr, seeing that the halfling druid is well in hand(litteraly), bigins to move around the periphery of the entangling brass blades. He moves to where he will have the shortest distance to pass through the animated grass to reach one of the kuo-toa, between the slimy creatures and thier escape back into the lake, and prepares to catch any that comes within reach of him.

Josh feels the flames lick his back, dealing 5 damage. At the least, the potion healed 10 damage.
"What have I done to deserve this roasting? You already hit me with that fireball."
The two kuo-toans take 11 points of damage from the fires, but still live. Suddenly, the robed kuo-toans finally gives in to his burns, and falls.
The giant, repositioning himself to gain a good footing, leans back a bit and squeezes hard (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5065), choking the halfling into unconsciousness (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5066).
As the Halfling passes out, the grass begins to recede, freeing everyone from it's grasp. The beginning of a smile barely creeps into his face as the monk lays the limp body on the ground, muttering "at last, that threat's over...if only it were the last..."
Saeoun, now free, looks over to Amarillis with a quirked eye, "Should I just cast Resist Energy on everybody, or are you done with the fire attacks?"
Eriam shakes his head." that's one of the reasons i tend to stick with my bow. less chance of friendly fire when you have distance between you and the enemy."
Ignoring the lightshow going on around him, Malakin advances towards the next kuo-toan, and with a sudden movement he attempts to impale it on the end of his spear:
To hit: 3+18-6/Powerattack = 15 (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5067)
Damage: 4+1+12+12 = 29 (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5068)
The spear slides right over the kuo-toan's hide, leaving nary a scratch.
Sasha growled as her first attack seemed ineffective. Concentrating on thte armored enemy before her she unleashed a flurry of slashs.
The first attack (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5080) (12) misses widely, nearly slipping from her grasp. Luckily her second strike (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5081) (31) is true, but not critical. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5082) (damage (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5083) 10) The shifter's third strike (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5084) finds flesh as well. (damage (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5085) 15)
Only the second slash finds its way through the kuo-toans slippery skin, and it continues to stand.
Sven moves into postion as his eyes beguin to glow like flames "Prepare to see the light my friend..." he slowly wades by the lake abit and then fires off two scorching rays at the armored kuo-toan
12+9=21 and 12+9=21 for attacks
1+4+5+5+0=15 and 2+5+1+1+0=9 for damage
The rays burn right through the kuo-toans armor. He convulses from the searing pain, and falls upon the grass.
The winged person comes from the lake again and pulls out a wing dagger and trys to kill him (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5107) and Dmg (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5108)
The whip dagger bounces off the kuo-toans armor. The kuo-toan blinks several times, then looks over to see all of its allies on the ground, and everyone else around him. He drops his weapon and shakingly puts his hands in the air.
Quav moves towards the Kuo -toan and ask it in it's native tongue "<Bring us to the statue you are gaurding. It is most wise you cooperate since we just took down your comrades.>"
The Kuo-toan looks fearfully at the drow, and shakes its head.
"What statue is this," Josh says picking up his shield and pointing the end of his blade at the kuo-toan.
The kuo-toan starts babbling in its own tongue.
"Quav, can you understand what it's saying?"
"He said, 'They shall kill me if I tell. The statue of Wastri must not be disturbed.' I'm not to sure but I think whoever doesn't want the statue disturbed is serious about it," He said to josh before turning back to the Kuo-toan.
"Let's try that again," Josh says pressing his sword into the kuo-toans throat, "Where is this statue of Wastri?" (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5125)
The kuo-toan gulps, and points shakily across the lake.
Meanwhile, Marethial whispers to Saeoun.
Saeoun thinks on where he has heard that name. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5126)
"Wastri," Saeoun begins, "The Hopping Prophet. He is a minor deity of bigotry and amphibians. He is also a servant of Blibdoolpoolp, the patron deity of kuo-toans, who see her as the sea mother. That would explain what the kuo-toans are doing here, and why frog park has been extra rambuncious recently. This may also explain what the druid of Obad-Hai was doing working with the kuo-toans."
"Sounds like an evil relic that could use some demolition," Josh looks to Marethial.
"We are saving those for later, sir," Marethial retorts, "But I'm sure we have enough muscle and holy power among us to reduce it to rubble."
The kuo-toan drops to its knees, pleading to Josh in its own tongue once more.
Quav sighs and says, "Now he is just begging for life and wanting out protection. He says he will do anything."
"I doubt anything," Marethial interjects, "He's a cleric, he won't turn on his own people, and they'd probably kill him on sight for what he has told us. It's not that hard to put together wh spilled he beans when he's the only one still alive. And judging from his spineless nature, he'll run before actually helping us. Guess that leaves him as a prisoner for now. Trouble is that kuo-toans have rather slick hides, so we can't simply tie him up. We still need everyone for this mission, but we can't bring him along. Hmmmm?"
The Winged person come down and starts to look for a shield on one of the armored Kuo-toans. "Hmmm. i overheard that you wanted to keep him from slipping right?" Still looking.
"They do possess a rather slippery coating on their skin," Marethial answers, "And who are you, exactly? You helped us in the fight, but we haven't been properly introduced."
He looks up again. "Oh right i am sorry i am not as well known here." He bows. " I am Ketmundeva and very please to meet you? Now these armored types usually have a shield of some sort that might help." Looking down again.
He finds a shield on the body of the kuo-toan fighter.
Ketmundeva <celestial> You are a half-breed of the upper realms, am I right? My family has not had one with that much celestial blood in a long time, but I have seen many paintings of my more enlightend relations. From what sphere do you trace your bloodline? My family has had eladrin blood in our veins for nearly all of our existance. <celestial>
Not waiting for Ketmundeva's reply and turning to Josh, She says " Leader, I would trust this one with my life."
" I-I must beg forgiveness for the fire earlier, so please take this as repayment" She hands him four potions marked with the elven symbol for health, just like the one she tossed him earlier. " I will enspell you the next time so that you may avoid such danger".
OOC: knowledge religion check
16+6+9=41....I know Ketmundeva is a celestial :)
(you guys can use Ket and i will know what or who you are taking about)
Ket turns to the person that talk to him. <celestial>I am please to know someone else in the Eladrin blood line what is you name miss?<celestial> then moves over to Marethial. "This should have a coding on it that should be sticky enough to hold something around it."
(DV does you char. blood line stand out in the Eladrin?)
"And what would that do other than stick a shield on a part of his body?" Josh asks, "You know, we could simply knock him out for now and leave him here to pick up once we're done here."
*turns to face Josh* We might take that course of action; however, something tell me that our new ally might know something we do not. Perhaps it is in our best interest to see what he suggests?
Quav goes over to the Kuo-toan, who is still freaking out, and attempts to Charm it. He succeeds in it and the Kuo-toan calms down and Quav smiles. "I think our new friend has calmed down and won't run off," He said smiling.
"Tell it to go the Cathedral of Kord, where it is to turn itself into the soldiers," Josh tells Quav.
Eiram stands off the the side listening to the conversation as best as he could follow. it seemed that there would be new additions to the part soon but then with this conflict brewing they would probably need the extra help.
Quav turns to the Kyo-Toan and says, "It would be really helpful if you would go to the Cathedral of Kord and turn yourself into the soldiers. I'm positive they will spare your life."
The kuo-toan nods and runs off the way they came.
"Just head straight down the street," Marethial yells to it, then turns back to everyone, "Alright, we have a new objective, destroying that statue. Be prepared for more kuo-toan opposition, they may know we're coming."
Marethial use cure light wouns on Josh once more, healing him fully.
"The rest of you ready yourselves. Ket, what do you know of the kuo-toans so that we may prepare against?" Josh asks.
Sasha wiped off what little of the kuo-toan blood got on her blades. She cursed under her breath as she did so.
She watched with disintrest as the others discussed the prisoner's fate before finally sending it away.
"I was born ready, sir." She stated very near the truth of her existence.
Uninterested in the captive, malakin instead watches the celestial 'Ket' with mild intrest as he cleans his greatspear..
"Ready as ever, sir!" he announces absentmindedly and prepairs to set off once more..
Sven slowly looked away from the team abit shivering abit and trys to warm himself up abnit "Hmmmm..I feel something strange and familer...Oh why did it had to be that long.."
Looks up again at Josh still holding the shield. "Well what i know of them is that They are immune to poison and paralysis, have electricity resistance, and when multiple kuo-taon clerics can also charge up their divine energy to create a lightning bolt. So watch when they start to congregate. That is what i know."
"They've most likely done just that around the statue, with plenty of their clerics," Marethial turned to their cleric, "Saeoun, we'll need some resistance to lightning."
"I can only protect 8 of you with it," He responds.
"Stick to those in the front, then," Josh replies, "The rest will hang back out of the range of their attack."
Saeoun casts mass resist energy (electricity) on Josh, Marethial, Sasha, Malakin, Keothi, Marosharr, Eiram and himself.
"Eriam, I'm almost out of powerfull attack spells, and archers tend to be more effective when we fly. Have you any obection to magical flight? Josh and Eriam I'm going to cast a spell that should help your ranged attacks and avoidance on you two. We should gather up the equipment of the kou-toa I have a wand that will let me find the magical items."
Turning Back to Ket "I am called Amarillis, Potential Heir of the House of Stacirillis, the blood of many Eladrins including Queen Morwel and the Divine Blood of Corellan Larethian flows in my veins."
"Well it is very nice to meet someone of noble blood" Bows to Amarillis. "And i have already said my name and my leinge will not be said..." Looks around then looks down for something of a bow on one of the dead kou-toa.
None of the kuo-toans appears to have been carrying any bows or other ranged weapons.
"Ranged Weapons don't work as well underwater," Marethial commented.
They found 3 full plates, 3 pincer staves, a heavy wooden shield, 2 pair of bracers, a ring, 6 vials (3 yellow, two with silver liquid and the third a murky blue), 2 Sianghams, that strange whip the fighter had been carrying, and 4727 GP.
"Marosharr, check to see if anything got lost in the grass," Marethial asks the scout.
Amarillis whips out a wand and with a few minutes of concentarion her eyes gain a flicking gold glow. She points to all of the magical items.
OOc: Use wand of detect magic....Find magic...Mmmm...Magic
Amarillis detects magic in the area. She soon figures out that there are 16 items generating magic. She pinpoints the magic coming from two of the suit of armor, the whip, the sianghams, the shield, the bracers, the ring, three of the vials, along with 4 others she can't quite see, but 3 of them are emanating a strong aura of conjuration.

Eiram watches Amarillis works then as they spot and (are we gathering the items?) comes to his conclusion. he nods to Amarillis. "I am amenable to magic flight if need be."
"..I can use detect magic at will, jutst thought you should know," Quav said noticing Amarillis using a wand of detect magic.
Marosharr thinks back to the fight to recall if he saw anything fall from any of the kuo-toa before they were defeated.

While he is searching, Marosharr keeps his head cocked in the direction of the water in case any more ambushers should appear while they are stopped.
Reese can see nothing across the lake or in it. However, he finds some things in the grass: 3 small bags that rattle when shaken, and a stone in the shape of a spindle and clear in color.
Marroshar looks in the bags to assess thier contents.
The bags appear to be filled with pointy little teeth. They belong to an animal he can't quite identify, but it would appear to be a small carnivore.
Looking over at Marroshar and seeing him look into the bag. Ket moves over to him. "Could i have a look at that?" and as soon as he does Ket checks his knowlegde of nature. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5152)
He turns to Josh. "Sir, I've found three pouchess of teeth and an odd sstone. I can't imagine that the teeth may be worth something, but the stone seems pretty enough."

Marosharr shrugs and wordlessly holds out one of the bags for Ket to examine.
The teeth belong to the pirahna, a small fish that lives in tropical rivers in schools that strip the flesh from their victims within minutes or seconds.
Sven looked at the items they was holding "Hmmm what would they be carrying teeth for?"
"We'll have to have them identified later," Josh told them, "For now, we should head for the other side of the lake. We'll split into two teams. The one's who are now the protected team will head for the other side from the right. We rest will head there from the left. Team two doesn't move in until they see a bolt of lightning. Till then, you stay 120 feet from the target area, alright?"
Ket looks around to Josh. "The bags hold teeth from what look like pirahna teeth, they live in schools that can strip the flesh of a victims in minutes or even seconds." Hands the bags back to Marosharr. "With witch team will i be going in because i am protected from the lightning too?"
"Hm, provide us with a proper tone for when the battle begins."
"Alright." Ket pulls out his songblade and before we get into battle Ket casts Inspirational Boost, and use the
Words of Creation (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5154) and beings to sing in Celestial an old war beat from old Eladrins times of war.
(if i did this right everyone should get a +4 to attack, dmg, and saving throws)
Amarillis casts fly on both Eiram and herself, then casts Cat's grace on Eiram and Josh. This takes 18 secounds. "ready to go Sir!" Returning the wand to her haverstack and removing her longbow.
Turing to Quav " next time you may cast if you wish..I must admit I did not know that Drow could do that."
"Look if you want to know my history or anything else about me I'll tell you it later when I have the time. I can also tell you quite a bit about Min if you wish also," Quav said to Amarillis. He figured he would be confronted by everyone later considering they would learn about his and Min's relationship.
Min stayed near Quav, silently staying behind him. He was generally happy cause he knew that he had some freedoms when it came to his master... he still obeyed Quav since his fate depended on it.
Josh can feel quicker in his limbs, but his armor prevents his movement.
"I fear that the spell has been halted by my armor's flexibility. Perhaps a spell to put more of a spring in my step next time."
"Alright, let's move out," Josh gives the command, "Those with the resistance will take the right, the rest will take the left. Let's go."
The two groups circle the lake, heading for the other side. On the other side, they find them close to the town wall. Laying before the wall is an overgrown part of the park, looking almost like a bog.
"What's that?" Marethial says as they begin to move into the bog, "I hear chanting."
"Marosharr, Eiram, scout ahead." Josh whispers to them.
"Chantting...Where....I might want to take a look into this" Sven held up his hand to his ear and listened to what it might be
The other group had finished rounding the lake as well, noticing the main force on the other side.
Marethial shushes as they approach, then points to the overgrown section of the park.
The chanting was in tongues, almost unintelligible to the group.
Eiram calls his hound to him with hand gesture then with out a word the two are gone. Eiram and his hound approach the area trying to move silently (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5227) to catch the chanters unaware. as the near them they enter the brush and hide (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5226). Eiram then stares out from the underbrush trying to spot (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5228) what kind of ceremony was going so as to report this findings back the the group..
Marosharr nods and moves ahead of the group, taking care not to be seen (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5242) or heard (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5243) by whoever may be chanting. He noislessly slips forward towards the sound of chanting, trying to make use of what little cover there might be for him to use.
"What can you see?" Josh whispers over to them.
Malakin stays put, not wanting to risk alerting the opponents. Staying low he waits patiently for the scouts to report..
"Im sure he will find something soon sir" as he ajusts some straps on his coat
Josh shushes him with a raised hand, and continues to look to the scout and ranger.
Eiram whispers back to josh " there are toads in a simpler facing away form up and chanting to some statue of a toad"
"What formation are they in?" He whispers to them.
Eiram responds. "they are in a half circle facing the statue and away form us. the seem pretty focus on their chant so if you want to try ambushing them then this is probably the time to do so"
"Any ideas," Marethial whispers to the spellcasters.
"Well I can think of something...Hope I have time" he whispered quietly
Marosharr spies the chanting creatures, and makes note of thier positions, then heads back to his task force with all due stealth.
In a low whisper, he reports his findings. "I have seen a number of those fish people chanting in a semi circle about something. I could not make an accurate count of them, nor did I see what it is they are gathered about."
He looked to his friends in the group and whispered "Alright...Everyone stand back..I Got a spell that can help" he creates a fire and aims it at a opening in the foilage http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5328
Everyone backs away from the brush.
A red bead shoots from Sven's finger, zooms through the foliage, and explode upon the back of a kuotoan and explodes. Numerous screams can be heard as the foliage is burned away, and reveals 8 kuotoans burned to a crisp, with three still on their hands and knees.
"To arms," Josh yells drawing his sword and rushing forward.
The kuotoans cower before him, except one, who Josh easily kicks to the ground and lays his blade across its throat.
"Area secure, sir," Marethial tells Josh as she approaches, her weapon also drawn and pointed at the nearest kuo-toan.
"I doubt your lightning could be any worse than what I have endured today, and I'm certain you would be ill fit to deal with the consequences," Josh speaks to the third kuo-toan, pressing his blade further into the neck of the one he has on the ground, and don't even think of running, or the sorcerer that charred your allies will strike you down as well."
Josh turns to his troops, with an arm and a blade still around the kuo-toan, "Monk, see to the statue, I'm sure you can reduce it to rubble in record time."
The kuo-toans scream, but are quickly silenced by Josh and Marethial.
Well, that was a waste of spells..Still we need to give the prisoners a chance to surrender. Those who give up and swear on your goddess that you will not try to hurt us or escape will be treated well and spared...
"Clerics tend to be rather zealotous, can't trust them to follow anything but their deity's decrees," Josh says standing the kuo-toan up, "We'll need to have them properly restrained and returned to the base for imprisonment. For now, they are prisoners of war. I'll need three people to escort them back to base while we finish up here. The scout, monk, ranger, and bard can not volunteer. They'll be needed in order to finish the mission successfully."
The monk moves forward, eyeing the statue. "Consider it done."

He charges at the statue, ducking low as he brings his fist up to his chest, clenched tight as an almost feral intensity flashes in his eyes. With almost a growl, he looses a bass-filled shout and drives his fist into the center of the statue, pieces falling off the edged with each strike. He brings his fist back, taking a low stance and focusing all his energy into the clenched fist...his eyes flare open as with one powerful motion, he drives his fist into the center of the statue...after a moment of silence in repsonse to the thunderous blow, the statue explodes in a shower of dust and pebbles, debris crumbling around him. As the dust fades, the chill in the air gradually decreases.
A smile creases his lips as he stands amidst the rubble.

Sven steps forward to volunteer to take the prisoners back yet there was a some sort of saddness but relaxed look apon his eyes
The kuo-toans bulging eyes turn beady with there mouths agape as the statue is reduced to dust. They cower before the might of the goliath. Josh turns to the others with a smile.
"Well, now that we have that out of the way, that only leaves us with two more things to do," Josh looks to Sven, "Sven, you, Amarillis, and...Sasha shall escort the prisoners back to base. Also, they must carry the equipment of their comrades, that should keep them from running away too fast."
Sneaking had never been a strong point of the shifter warrior so she had not been near enough to the front of the group when the kuo-toans were rushed. The battle had been over before it had truly even begun. She stood near as they were rounded up to be taken back.
She was a little upset to be sent back but she saluted her commanding officer. "Yes, sir." She glared down at the slimy creatures and almost found herself wishing they would try something on the way back. At least back in the city she would be able to help clear it out, or at least she hoped.
Sword in hand she waited for Swen and Amarillis to lead the prisoners off. She could take up the rear guard.
Very well..But I feel that you are making a mistake...I am just not sure how..
Ket finally moving again. "Ummm... what i do?" Looking to Josh because he seems to be in charge.
"This last step requires people with a bit more...mobility. Though I myself am not prepared for the task, I must remain here, to see to it that the task is completed."
Josh sends off the group escorting the prisoners (Amarillis, Sasha and Sven), watching until they're out of sight. He then turns back to the rest.
"Alright, this is it. We're booby trapping the tunnel. The reason I chose you people is because of what I require for us to get to that tunnel unnoticed."
"There are rumors of a hidden tunnel, but we're not sure if we can rely on that," Marethial added, "They are only rumors, and fortunately the enemy hasn't found it by the looks of it. That's why you people remain. We're going to need to scale the wall, and we know you can do this without much trouble, or sound for that matter. Now come, we must move quickly."
The group moves to the opposite side of the park, till they reach the far West side.
"Alright, this is the closest spot in the park to the Tunnel that feeds the river into Saltmarsh. This is where we scale the wall. I'm afraid I'm a bit unskilled for this, but the rest of you do fine. Unless we find that tunnel, you'll be on your own. However, I think Marethial could ride on Keothi's back. If he could scale the wall as fast as he did last time, he shouldn't have any trouble with a little extra weight."
Josh turns to the bard, "I think you know a way to get over on your own."
"I can easily get over this all. My armor allows me to sprout a pair of wings and fly for a few minutes," Quav said as looked at the wall. It wouldn't take too long for him to get over the wall. A couple rounds at the most.
Ket spread his wings out and takes off just hovering over them waiting for them to come over because he wasn't too graceful with a sword as the other were. "I am ready."
"The wall is only 20 feet tall," Marethial told them, "It shouldn't take that much time to clear it."
"Hmmm..You know I just had something come to my mind but i think it can wait Josh.." As he had some sort of depressed tone but understanding mood
Marosharr eyes the wall with an expression of annoyance on his face. He looks for any sort of hand holds, or for any projections a rope could be snagged on near the top.
"I ssuppose I sshould tell you, ths easy sscaling of ssheer blank wall is beyond my skillss."
Marosharr pulls a length of rope from his pack, and begins tying knots along its legth.
"If someone would be so good as to tie an end at the top of the wall, I'm sure we can all be up it in short order," he states, looking at Josh's armored form.
"Hm, might just be enough. Someone tie off to their waist before ascending the wall. Then tie it off once you get to the top. We'll be able to follow shortly after."
"I'll do it," Said Quav as he grabed the rope and his armor sproted wings. He rose into the air with the rope and secures the rope to the wall when he reaches the top. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5372) He goes down the other side of the wall to wait for the others with ket.
Min scaled the wall by climbing up the rope and waited at the top for the others to climb up.
"Alright, everybody up the rope," Josh said taking hold.
He had no trouble scaling the wall with the rope. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5399)
Neither did Marethial. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5400)
With both of them now on top of the rampart, they waved for the rest to follow.
Ket still hovering above them starts to look around Searching around (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5401) for anything.
Ket does not find anything within 5 feet of where he is (OOC: Because search is used to check a 5 foot area. I think you meant to perform a spot check).
Marosharr climbs the rope with careful deliberate movements. He reaches the top of the wall, but stays loy and in cover of the battlements, cautious of casting a sillouete or shadow that might alert an enemy. He carefully peers over the ramparts and checks to see if any foes might be present (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5402) to witness thier descent to the ground outside the city walls.
Marosharr can see the marshes right outside the city walls, but he sees no one nearby.
Eiram grips the rope with both hands and begins to climb (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5503). his hound in a sling on his back
Seeing that everyone is get over without much help, He lands and folds his wings in again and looks up to see everyone getting over the wall. He has his hand on his hilt of his weapon just in case something is going to attack.
The giant quickly makes his way up and over the wall.
[check]http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5508
Everyone makes it to the rampart.
"Alright, down the other side," Josh whispers to them, "Quav, tie the rope off on the other side so we can repel down."
Marosharr takes the initiative, and his rope, and hauls it up and over to drop the loose end over the outward side of the wall. He makes a few adjustments to ensure it deosn't slip free frmo the point it was already secured to.
"I ssuggest the strongest climber descend lhast and climb down unasssisted, so the rope is not left hanging for enemy forces to use."
The dark catfolk then lowers himself over the side of the wall, quickly disapearing into the darkness below
"Keothi, you head down last. It should be no problem for a monk such as yourself," Josh turns to the rest, "Marosharr, Eiram, head down first and scout for any signs of enemies in the area."
Eiram and lands lightly as he reached the bottom of the rope. his hounds jumps form it's confinement. with a hand gesture he silences the hound and glazes around the area attempt to spot (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5625) any hazards or threats.
EDIT.
he spots a suspicious shadows hanging in the water. he is unsure of what it is as it is about 80 away, just around the bend leading into the swamp. this distance makes it It is hard to make out, but its definitely there.
a moment later he closes his eyes to focus and listens (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5629) as well hoping for clues. with an upraised hand palm away form the group he calls for attention then he gestures in the direction of the shadow in the water gesturing that they should show caution.
Min climbs down the otherside and joins Quav as they wait for the rest of their party to join them.
Malakin climbs down behind Min, rearranging his armour at the bottom..
He approaches Eiram carefully, and whispers to him : "What is it? More kuo-toan ?"
Eiram replies in a oft whisper. i'm not sure but it was there. a shadow in the water near the edge f the bend in the swamp. it's about 80 that way. " he points to were she saw he shadow searching to any more signs of it.
Marosharr lands softly on the ground, and looks around again for any sign of activity (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5737). He focuses his keen hearing in all direcrtions (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5738), seeking to pick up any signs of movement.
When Eriam points out the shadow he sees, Maroshar focuses (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5739) his senses (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5740) towards it in hopes of picking up what it may be.
Marosharr sees little more than the green figure that lies beneath the water's surface, unable to make out its shape.
Marosharr can hear little more than the sounds of the frogs and other wildlife.
Marosharr indicates with ahnd signals that he will investigate the apparition, and carefully makes his way towards the water, being careful to not let himself be easily seen by whatever it is he is approaching (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5795). He treads softly (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5796) on the soft grass and soft marshy lies in the shadow of the city wall, closing to half the distance from whatever it may be lying in the water. He strains his sight (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5797) in the evening's dim light, focusing all his attention towards making out what it may be that lies below the surface.
The catfolk can not see the green shape any more clearly due to the murky water of the swamp. However, his movement is not gone unnoticed, as two arrows whiz by his head.
Finally, Marosharr's eyes do not fail him, and the picture becomes all too clear (Natural 20). The bushes at the bend in the swamp rustle and two green-skinned humanoids burst from hiding. They exhibit speed and agility in contrast to their squat body and thick scales. They look like short lizardfolk, but with a distinct draconic appearance. They drop their bows in favor of a pair of wicked blades and decked in black leather armor, they show off their teeth with evil grins. However, those malicious smiles are dwarfed by the mandibles upon the green-scaled, dragonlike creatures they ride.
At the same time, A draconic shape leaps from the water, slashing with razortipped, clawed wings. A frill on its forehead and extending down its back suggests a green dragon was somehow involved in the creation of this beast.
They all stare at the catfolk, who had little more than grass along the shore to hide behind.
"To arms," Josh shouts form atop the wall before grabbing hold of the rope and rappeling down to the ground. He tries to move in, drawing his sword and shield.
"Get behind me, scout, that thing will tear you apart if you stand your ground."
Marethial takes to the rope behind Josh , and draws her shield, but leaves her other hand open for casting.
Quav attempts to shoot the draconic beast with an eldritch blast and leaves nary a scratch on it. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=579) Min closes in on the same beast and attempts to harm it with his scythe. Unfortunately he doesn't harm it with his scythe. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5799)
Marosharr springs to meet the creature in front of him, detouring his movement to attack the flank of the creature. He draws his sword, and stabs the beast before him (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5800), but his sword meerly glances off it's thick hide. Marosharr completes his spring and backs off, moving around behind Josh before the creature has a chance to retaliate.

With the monster down on the ground, Malaking finds it easy to shove the spear into the creature's back.
Ket seeing one of their number is gone down starts to glow a little then the emanation of the radial burst of a Holy smite will be from the river, near the two enemies on lizardback so only hitting them. They take 15 dmg (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5908) each.
With little else to do, Saeoun climbs down the rope, and prepares for the eventual healing.
The winged water creature is struck blind along with one of the lizard men by the holy smite. The mounts also find themselves in the dark.
The beast, blinded, tries to stagger back up, but it is quickly smacked back down by the goliath monk. It lets out a dying scream before falling limp. The lizard men try to control their blinded mounts. They end up spending the entire round just trying to get them under control.
Min attempts to identify the creature and sees that it was a Greenspawn razorfiend. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5909) He also curses one of the lizard men with a Hexblade's curse and sends his familiar over to the other side of the river.
Quav aims a eldritch blast at one of the lizard men yet nothing seems to happen. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5910)
Josh tries to hit the unblinded enemy with a breath of electricity, but it only does 5 damage. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5911)
"Come you miserable cowards, surely you aren't gutless enough to face me man to man," He taunts the enemy. They enemy seems to take the bait as they sneer at him.
Marethial and Saeoun take up positions beside Josh as he moves on past the corpse of the fallen razorfiend.
"These are the spawn of Tiamat," Saeoun speaks up, "The litte ones are Greenspawn Sneaks, who operate as scouts in Tiamat's army. The things they ride are Greenspawn Leapers, which are also spawn of Tiamat. The lizardfolk must be working with the followers of the evil dragon goddess."
"Then wipe them out," Josh orders, pointing his sword directly in front of him, "All of them."
Ket seeing that one might be running soon because of the damage that has been done to his group, he spreads his large wings out and flies up and over the under brush so that he is behind him and pulls out his whip. With another glow of the holy energy strikes at the blinded foe. With a Attack (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5936) And To Crit. "A fine blow," Josh declares, staring at the third sneak Ket had just pegged around the corner, "Keothi, see to it that the little sneak doesn't get away."
Amarillis comes galloping in on the back of her warhorse with Nilo perched on her head. (She's a good 600ft away, 60ft move speed run x4 swamp (trail) x3/4=180 ft per round, She will reach the fight in 4 rounds)

Marosharr takes a stride towards the river, and pushes off of the bank, jumping accross with cat-like ease and grace (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5967). He lands on the far bank, upstream of the group of sneaks, just next to one, and Lashes out with his sword (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5968). His cold blade takes the creature by surprise, Creweling cutting into it (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5969), and piercing it in a vital place (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5970). The cold blade jolts the creature with frost (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=5971), and it tumbles, lifeless, to the ground. Marosharr quickly withdraws his blade from the creature, and sprints some distance upstream from the remaining two.
The mount is deprived of its rider, and left helpless.
"Good work. Well then, monk, let's go with the one that can still see the fate that awaits him."
Malakin watches Marosharr jump the river and does not follow, instead he pulls out a javelin and throws it towards the nearest opponent still standing..

Malakin nails the sneak that can still see. It manages to remain on its mount despite the blow.\
OOC:Hm, Papi seems to have gone absent for a while. Oh well, let's get this going again.
Keothi jumps across the river with relative ease. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6028)
He takes hold of the sneak's leg. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6029) He tries to pull the sneak out of the saddle, but it won't budge. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6030)
The sneaks and their mounts finally shake off the blindness. One of the sneaks tries to circle around Keothi, But Keothi lays a kick to the leaper's jaw. The sneak is sent hurtling off as the leaper mount is sent sprawling to the ground lifeless. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6031) The sneak rolls with the fall, and continues onward, still spurred by Josh's taunt. It leaps across the river, only to find a pair of swords waiting for him. Marethial's blade slips from her hand, (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6032) But Josh's sword pierces the sneak as it comes down upon the other side of the river. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6033) He rips out another 11 damage from the sneak. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6034) The blade flares with holy energy, dealing another 11 points of damage. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6035) While extremely bloodied, the creature still stands.
With the monk occupied, the other sneak sees its chance. It kicks the sides of the leaper, and the two go flying over the river. It just makes it across, but then beelines to the wall and climbs it with ease. It attempts to close in on Josh, but ends up stopping short.
The final leaper, finding itself surrounded, wounded, and without a rider, attempts to withdraw, running scared. However, it doesn't get far, as Ket finds plenty of time to crack his whip against its side as it tries to pass. The leaper falls in the mud, dying.
"You picked a good day to die," Josh announces to the sneak before him. He brings his sword to bear against the sneak once more. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6036) He deals another 10 points of damage upon the creature's skull. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6037) Holy energy courses through its mind, and a look of utter horror appears upon the sneak's face as it falls into the muck, convulsing in its last moments of life before death. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6038)
OOC: New Round, finally.
Marosharr sheathes his sword and moves to a position directly accross the river from the remaining sneak, readying his shortbow as he moves.
Eiram aims at the sneak and fires arrow (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6044) arrow (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6045) arrow (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6046)
Amarillis moves 240ft Guiding with Knees (DC 5 12+8=20 Success) and casting fly on herself (Concentration DC 15 6+12=18 Success) Next round into the fight!
Quav aims an eldritch blast at the sneak and just barely hits it (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6088) and causes 17 damage to it.[/ur]
Min commands his animal companion to get as close to the sneak as possible and then moves back away from the wall. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6089)
Despite the shots, the sneak remains fastened to his mount on the wall.
Malakin quickly tracks the sneak riding towards the wall, takes aim and hurls a second javelin as it climbs:

Ket, already having his wings out flew up to get a better view of them and casts Insidious Rhythm on the mount.
The mount pauses for a moment. A distinct ringing enters its ears, and it covers them with its claws. However, it forgets that it was using those claws to stay on the wall, and accidentally falls off. The mount takes 3 damage from impacting with the ground. It manages to pick itself up, but just barely as it wobbles on its hind legs.
"Now is the time," Josh moves past Marethial with his sword over his head.
He attempts to strike the sneak, but it manages to dodge the blow on its mount. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6113)
Keothi takes a flying leap across the river, landing with enough motion to dive into an enemy, driving his fist into his stomach for 9 damage.
[rolls verified by DM, sorry I lost the links >.<]
And with that blow, the situation dawns upon the sneak.
"Lay down your arms," Josh orders the sneak, "You are surrounded. If you surrender, you'll make it out of this alive."
The sneak looks around, seeing that it is surrounded. It then looks to Josh and raises its weapons. Josh raises his shield, but looks on with astonishment as the sneak stabs its blade into the skull of its mount, and through its heart. It freezes, then begins to slip from its mounts back as the thing begins to collapse. It wears a display of teeth on its face, whether it is a pain-filled grimace, or a mocking grin, is uncertain.
Josh glares at the pair of corpses, then sheathes his sword and shield.
"What shall we do now?" Quav asked as he looked at the corpses on the ground. He was honestly curious as to what to do. Min walked over to Quav and sighed as he looked at the corpses ion the ground and sighed. At times like this he would sometimes wish he could be one of those amoung the dead and at the same time be glad he is alive.
Eiram looks around. this was truing out to be something other then what he expected when he signed on. he sighed. ah well he's committed and he would give his best.
"Damn it," Marethial says in a sort of hushed tone, "We can't leave these bodies here. They'll be too suspicious of the tunnel to set off the disks."
"We could drag them back to town and have them burried or something. That or throw them in the river or something," Quav said unsure of what to really do with the bodies.
With a graceful dive Amarillis swoops down to the ground. "Sorry I'm late...but I happened to see the Spawn's choice..I fear I know the reason. There is a party of somethings moving barrels down the river. Ket has better eyes than me he may be able to identify the creatures. I could see them as I crested the wall."
She pauses and turns to Quav..."I saw some traces of my brother's work while catching up to you...If he sees you Drow...well... surrender is your best bet, Otril is a bit insane. and he has a great hatred of Drow...almost as great as his hatred of undead. I was supposed to meet him here in a week and I fear he came early just as I did. I would morn your death...I feel that you are trying to remove your taint and I would like to see that happen....just like I would like him to retract that dammned vow...." Her voice trails off and she looks off to the side.
OCC: I'm mentioning Otril for a reason...I'm almost to 9th level...one more battle should do it..and I'm taking leadership at 9th...and he's my cohort..and yes insane does discribe him (I'm thinking of having him take a level or two of the beserk PrC from Deities and demigods...I think that should tell you a bit about him)
(Mana I have a Script for his intro already written so tell me when to plop it in)
"And that's why I travel with Min. We have a... unique relationship. It's rather complicated and I fear it would only make you think worse of me," Quav said not wanting to go into the history of him and Min.
Min sighed and sat on the edge of the river. He figured that Quav was being a little arogent and knew what would happen apon his death.
" I do not mean to impliy that you cannot defend yourself...but that very few things enrage him more than fiends or Drow..and he left the house due to those rages..Lia and I are the only ones who can shock him out of them and if I am not there...well he won't kill you if you surrender and do not display your taint. He takes after our Shiradi great grandfather so he's not very elven in apperance...So please take care...Drow....Quav"
"My history, both ancestral and personal, might be enough to convince him otherwise. In fact if you knew you would probley place me with the rest of my kind. Most people do but then again you don't know my history," Quav said with a slight smugness. He knew either way he wouldn't surrender when he has done nothing wroung.
" Your fiendish blood? if that is the ancestral history you mean, then I know of that...It's hard to keep such a thing hidden if you use it's power so often, and blood does not always tell ..but if you feel I have misjudged you Drow.." She pauses and then starts up again "Perhaps you may be right and you are damned but pehaps you have the potental to reclaim the light...Perhaps you will reverse the fall of Araushnee or perhaps you will fall further...but I have learned that the only things one cannot ever know is the potential of one's soul...and the the final straws that break one's faith or outlook "
OOC: Quav and Otril have a few things in common (at least on the surface) and Amarillis is starting to see that...
"So you know that my ancester is a devil, But what you don't know is that is the very reason I travel with Min. If want to get technical Min has to travel with me. He is my slave. It's more complicated than you think though," Quav said with a smile, "But it's not for me to tell."
Min stood up and said, "He's right... It's my story so I should tell it. You see one of my ancesters was cursed to live a life of sertitude to one of Devil ancestry or a devil so they will be free apon their death. But if they choose to live a free life then they will not be free in death. The only way to lift the curse though is by having a demon and a Devil work together."
" And so you have a curse...you keep with the one who shares that...Quav, your curse frees Min from his...and so in some small way you keep this curse for another...you are not just using him. Min could find a different master, am I right? So he stays with you because he chooses you. The Seldarine can be cruel. Your curses in a way connect you two. "
She looks up at the sky for a moment then looks at Quav "I mentioned that vow before...My brother, Ortil, was my twin...well he still is...He was the Heir before me and had well...a perfect life. He married his childhood love, a nymph and cleric of Elebrin Liothiel named Sylsealasri. He was a cleric of Correllon Larethian and was very near to becoming the head of the church.... Sylsealasri was two months pregnent with their first child. A border town reported problems with a drow necromancer and a few packs of zombies. My brother went and so did Sylsealasri..despite his arguments..a few lower ranked clerics and some warriors would get there a few days later."
" I'm still not sure just what happened, but when the reforcements arrived... Sylsealasri was dead and Ortil was on the brink of death...with a clouded left eye. They healed him..and he told them the only thing I know about those three days...That the drow was being used by a virtuous drinker called Karn."
She looks around for a bit before continuing.
" He asked for Sylsealasri and apon learning of her death....ripped out his left tainted eye. Of course, he was a powerful cleric in those days, and atempted to revive her...only to fail time and time again. Finally he cast a powerful spell to let him find out from Correllon Larethian why his only love was barred from him...I was there when the answer came..and he made that vow. Now you may not know this but...our house has a bit of divine blood...that of Correllon Larethian himself...and alot of eladrin blood in our veins....So not one of the house ever worshiped another god.....until that day.
She raises her head and stares into the sky as she speaks
'Because her child was tainted and to restore one is to restore both, rather than let the child be born I must keep her soul at my side' that was the answer he was given...I don't think his mind could take that 'betrayal'...I think the madness started then...anyway, he...well shouted 'I swear on Sylsealasri that I will pay no more homage to the god that kept my love's soul, who will not even let me join her in death, nor will I love or marry till she is returned, the blight that took her from me is eraticated in full or the demon god that set the demon that took both her and my eye is dead!' He denouced the house and the heirship...and left. 10 years ago he came to the house and left a necklace that had belonged to Sylsealasri that was missing when she was found...around the neck of our newborn sister. He follows Ayillia now."
Looking back at Quav "In a way you remind me of him"
Josh rolls his eyes, "Not the best time for stories about family. Hm...perhaps if we attack the boats carrying the barrels, they'll take that to be our main mission here, and distract them from the charges set in the tunnel. Yes, but how to go about it, this long night is starting to wear thin on us, and the convoy is most likely heavily gaurded."
"If we only knew what kind of barrels they were carrying," Marethial wondered, "Perhaps it's gunpowder...no, it's too damp in the swamp to keep that stuff dry, and I doubt the lizardfolk even know what a gun is."
"Sorry about that and I'll go up ahead and see if I can identify what's in the barrels," Quav said volunteering to go ahead.
"Alright," Marethial told him, "Look for some symbol on the side. Lots of armies like to do that to easily identify what supplies they have at just a glance."
When Quav left, Marethial turned back to the others, "Alright, Keothi, Marosharr, and Eiram, and need your help in setting the disks."
Quav returns from scouting and says, "I saw the ship, they weren't barrels but jars, and on the side was a circle. It appeared to be black due to the fact it was on the edge of my vision."
Marosharr checks the bodies on his side of the river, to make sure of them, then springs back accross the river (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6242).
"How many are the boatss and how many on them? I think we could disstract them eassily enough with an attack if we pretend to be driven off."
"You need me to help set up the diskss? how may I be of sservice?"
{OOC: Let me know how many, if any, spot or search checks I should make for checking the bodies for signs of life.}
Ket drops back down and folds his wings back in. "Is there any infomation that we can get off of these boddies like a note or something like that because by the look of these things they were kind of a scouting party."
"Well I only saw one ship and it was rounding a corner about 120' out and considering that is on the edge of my vision I think it would be rather hard to count how many of the jar's there were. I had to use my spyglass to see one of the jars," Quav said explaining things as they were.
(okayd this with DM!)
Ket looks up at the explaintion of the symbol on the side of the barrels. "I know that symbol that is one for oil... if i remember it right. Also I can help you with those disks."
"Oil you say," Marethial gets an idea, "Okay, we need to set up those discs first."
They set to work, and Ket shows them key points in the tunnel that'll allow it to collapse more efficiently. Marethial instructs them on how to set the discs, and then they place three of them, finding one extra.
"Hm, perhaps we could use the remaining disc for the distraction."
"Distraction nothing, if those boats are carrying oil, we may collapse the entire wall and not just the tunnel," Josh announces with severity, "We need to stop those boats before they can get close to the wall. It would be simple enough to set off the oil. But we'd need some sort of fire attack from long range to do it. If we're lucky, we'll not only take out the shipment, but some lizardfolk from inside the city may try to take the tunnel to see the commotion and set off the discs themselves."
"Oil, iss it?"
Marosharr shrugs a shoulder, and pulls a few arrows with large slotted metal heads from his pack.
"I have these arrowss, they catch fire in flight. If the fire can get to the oil, I don't think they'll find anything else worth worrying about. Might they not, however, have taken care against fire?"
"They're pots, meaning they should be thick enough to possibly resist being pierced by an arrow. We'd need something to start a hole. From there, it all goes downhill."
"Well I could try putting a hole in one of the jars with an eldritch blast," Quav said.
"Alright," Josh said turning to Quav and Marosharr, "Ready yourselves at the bend in the river. When that boats come around it, Quav, you put a hole in the pot, Marosharr, you follow up with the arrow. All we need is a leak to light them up. Before they realize what's happened, they'll be lit up like a sunburst. Everyone else, get back over the wall while we prep for the attack."
Josh moves to face the river around the bend. He waves Quav and Marosharr over.
Marosharr slinks to the area Josh indicates and takes up a station with a dragonbreath arrow stung to his bow, hiding himself to wait his moment (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6256) to fire an arrow into the soon to be broken jars of oil.
Quav moves to where Marosharr and Josh are and readies himself to fire an eldritch blast when the time is right.
Ket moves back to the wall and flies on top of it waiting for the others also.
Marethial waves everyone else back up the rope. Keothi climbs the wall himself, to allow room on the rope for others. He even has Saeoun ride on his back, to help speed things up.
"Eiram, Min, you go first. Malakin, if you've got it in you, climb the wall alongside Keothi. We don't know how much time they have, so we need to move fast."
Min starts climbing up the rope per instructions.
As everyone finishes ascending the wall, the boat finally turns into view.
"Now, fire," Josh orders Quav in a hushed tone, "Send off the arrow once you hear the pot smash."
Quav fires an eldritch balst at the pot and hits it. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6259) The blast breaks open the pot and oil begins to leak. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6260)
Marosharr takes aim, and releases his arrow (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6261) at the at the leaking jar of oil. It bursts in to flames as the force of it's flight forces air over the volatile chemicals in the head, and the flaming arrow strikes into the leaking oil.
The arrow screeches through the air as the wind ignites it and envelopes it in flames. The lizardfolk at the head of the boat watches with surprise, which quickly turns to horror, as the arrow streaks by and hit the jar of oil that had mysteriously cracked open. The flames spread across the oil, and suddenly...BOOM! THe jar goes up, and the explosion hits the next jar, and the next, and the next. Soon the boat is blown to smithereens as flaming debris shoot out into the swamp, and into the jars of the boat behind it. A brilliant chain reaction had started, and soon enough, five boats had flown off into the swamp, setting the place afire. What little oil remained stucks to the leaves of the plants, and slowly oozed its way down what remained of the river.
"Come on!" Josh waves to Quav and Marosharr.
They run to the rope, and quav goes up first, followed by Marosharr, and then a slow moving Josh. Finally, they reach the top with the others.
"Quickly now, tie the rope back to the other side. We're not out of the woods yet, not till we get back to the temple."
As Josh clambers onto the parapet, Marroshar begins hauling up the rope, positioning it so it again drops down inside the city's walls. He scans the area below the wall and quickly climbs down to keep the lower end secure.
Josh waves the other over. Both Keothi and Malakin simply slide down while the others use the rope.
The park has fallen silent, with only the sounds of burning flames from outside being audible.
Malakin, once every one is down looks to Josh for instruction..
"One moment."
Josh listens intently, and then hears the resounding explosions coming from the tunnel.
"Now, Let's get back to the temple."
"Of course, we'll want to retrieve the halfling druid Ferrin from the shrine in the park," Marethial notes.
The group heads out, picks up Ferrin, and hurries back to the temple of Kord. They follow the wall, watching the flames burn and the enemy shout as they try to put it out. The group finally gets back to the temple, and a cheer rises from the troops there.
"Mission accomplished, everyone." Josh declares.
"Sir, we've secured the prisoners," One of the soldiers reports, "and have found some dormitories in the temple where you can rest."
"That will probably be a good idea. It's been a long day, and the enemy will be in too much disarray to mount an attack. Everyone try to rest as easy as you can, the day we face tommorrow may have even more in store for us."
Ket looks around at the temple then heads back outside. Expanding his wings he moves to the nearest tree and lands in it.
Marroshar finds his way to the dormitory, and divests himself of his heavy equipment and armor, placing his gear in his pack, and hanging it at the foot of an unclaimed bed. He stretches his arms high above his head, and stands on his tip toes, stretching out all his muscles as he lets loose a tremendous yawn. It's been a tiring long day, and this has been his first chance to really rest since breaking camp this morning. He sits on the bed, and continues to sinuously roll his muscles and work out the kinks and tensions of the day, while taking in the details of the room.
Eriam sat him his room thinking. he absentmindedly rubbed his hound's head. he was remembering the trip back. While passing back through the park, Eriam noticed something carved into a rock in the Frog Park. it was a messages in trail signs an a signature. The message read, "To the East of Southward, Three tens Ks. See you on the Misty Isle." While cryptic, Eriam's survival skills are good enough to translate. it read to him "Head 30 kilometers Southeast of this position to the next location." this however was not what concerned him. it was the second line. The second line was merely a signature. but it was one he would know anywhere. it reminded him of the letter that started him on this journey.
Sven wandered around in traces of his mind shuffleing his feet slowly looking at the ground most the time and felt almost somewhat nearly broken up of something on his mind and most likey wanting to explain it all but it was too soon to explain at the moment so he mostly stood close to the team stable as he could without dissapointment and relaxed the memory inside his head so he wouldnt be bothered with it while most the time he scented a battle was admists along the journeys he was in with his group he was in with
Josh checked around the Cathedral, making a mental note of every soldier he came across. At the ends of his rounds, he returned to Marethial.
"We're missing a few of the troops," He told her.
"Some did leave to escort the refuges to the docks." Marethial noted.
"Yes, but Chavez and Keothi were with us up until we left the park. I fear they're MIA. We may need to go over our latest spoils of war."
Josh returns to outside, and finds the merchant's cart. However, Simon was not in sight. However, he could see a light at the back door of the cart. He stands before the door, with a sign that reads, "Welcome." He turns the knob, and steps inside to a surprising sight.
The inside of the cart seemed physically impossible. It was a shop, with a 20 by 20 foot floorspace outlined with glass display cases. 5 feet behind the cases, the walls stood covered in an assortment of weapons, armor, accessories and other items. At the back of the shop, Simon stepped from a door leading to a darkened space with a red glow.
"Ah, Lt. Avalon," Simon said with a gleeful tone, "it is a pleasure to see you again. How can I help you today?"
"I assume my men dropped off the latest aquisitions?"
"Ah yes," Simon whipped out his tablet, "+1 Full Plate (2650 GP), 2 Full Plates (3000 GP), 3 Masterwork pincer staffs (924 GP), +2 full Plate (5650 GP), Ring of Protection +1 (2000 GP), 2 Bracers of Armor +1 (2000 GP), 13157 GP in cleric goods [3 Bags of Teeth (6000 GP), Liquid Vortex (3300 GP), 3857 GP], +1 Heavy Wooden Shield (1157 GP), +1 Aquatic Scourge (8320 GP), 3 vials Giant Wasp Poison (630 GP), 870 GP, 2 +1 Sianghams (4604 GP), Clear Spindle Ioun Stone (4000 GP), 2 vials of silversheen (500 GP), 120 GP, 11 Full Plates (16500 GP), 11 Heavy Wooden Shields (77 GP), 11 Masterwork Spears (3322 GP), and 6600 GP."
"I fear we're down to it being split 10 ways, some of the men have gone missing."
"Oh, how unfortunate," Simon taps fervently on his tablet, "Well then: (76081-1600)/10 = 7608 GP each. I'll add it straight to your accounts. This brings your personal account to 202 PP, 19604 GP, 12 SP."
"Would you be able to upgrade my armor?"
"Of course, what kind of upgrade would you like?"
"A simple enhancement."
Josh removes his armor with the help of marethial and lays it upon the counter/display case.
"Hm, this should be simple enough-"
"I need it done by tommorrow."
"Uh, well, that could be doable, we'll have to work all night though-"
"Good, I'll return in the morning."
Josh leaves the shop with Marethial in tow.
They return to the barracks in the cathedral. There, Josh notices Eiram.
"Something on your mind, soldier?" He asks the ranger.
Meanwhile, Marethial comes across the distraught battle sorcerer.
"You seem troubled," She tells him, "Anything wrong?"
Quav and Min find their to the barracks and remove their armor and equipment, setting them at the foot of a couple of beds. "Min you are free to look around this town and talk to the people. I shall remain here in case my appearance with you becomes a problem," Quav said as he streached out a bit and then rested on a bed. "I have no desire to look about this place at the moment and your appearance has never caused me trouble before and I doubt it ever will," Min said in response as he sat on the bed across from Quav.
Josh looks over to Min for a moment, "It's too dangerous to wander the town right now. It is under siege, after all."
Eiram packs up his personal belonging and heads to were they last met as a group. there were things that he wanted to know and to the leader of the party was a good place to start. He needed to know what he had gotten himself into.
Slowly Sven looked at Marethial carfuly and said with a calm tone. "Hmmm nothing really m'lady..I am fine yet its mainly the past that mostly troubles me the most of my thought." Neverless Sven went to sit onto his bed carfuly staring out the window in a quiet thought on his mind that brings him much of his mother and how life was for her and inhumanly justicefied for what she was.
Malakin finds his way to the barracks and takes the closest free bed. After removing the less comfortable segments of his armour he sits down on the edge and begins examining his weapons in silence making sure they are in tip-top condition..
Ket pulls out one of his many journals and starts to read in. After a little bit he then draws out a pen and ink and starts to write into the journal about the day's experience, like what information he gave out, what he thinks of the party members, and so on.
Amarillis looks at the Merchants and asks "Have you the item I asked for?"
They hand her a black bottle ingraved with runes, "That will be 20,000, I'll deduct it from your total. You have 3,254 gp left "
She retires to a room and sets into a meditive pose, searching for the holy flame that gives her her powers. She finds yet another spark that glows in her heart and grasps the understanding of a new spell.
Eiram got up and stretched. then he left his ream and headed to the merchant's cart. he need to buy some more arrows and there were a few other things he wished to buy as well.
"Ah, Mr. Eiram, good to see you. What can I get for you today?"
Eiram smile though he was not happy. " i would like a bundle of arrows and information on a place called misty isle"
There were plenty of arrows in the armory, so they're free of charge. You may wish to get a quiver of ehlonna though, that's proven helpful to a number of rangers. As for the Misty Isle-"
"THE MISTY ISLE!" Someone shouts as they throw open the curtain leading to the backroom. Gilman walks out and nearly pushes Simon aside, but the gnome steps out of the way before that happens.
"Sit down, my boy, this is a rather tragic tale," The dwarf informs the ranger as he flips through the pages of his book, "As I'm sure you have heard, during ancient times, the elven deity Corellon Larethian put out the eye of the orc deity Gruumsh. To have his revenge for this loss, Gruumsh conspired with Kurtulmak, the deity of the kobolds, and with their combined power, they stole away the wondrous elven settlement known as the Misty Isle. Corellon and her followers attepted to find her lost brethren, but even the most powerful elven diviners could not discern the location of the island. All they could learn was that the elves that lived their were still alive, and that they are now prisoners in an unknown land. With that, an order of elite elves was created, known as the Seekers of the Misty Isle. These elves are most from the flock of clerics and rangers, and with there skills, they search endlessly for the Misty Isle. However, in all their years, the Seekers have found little more than a smattering of clues as to where the Isle now resides, as it could be anywhere on the Great Wheel. Some scholars, including myself, believe that the island may exist within a realm occupied by Gruumsh or Kurtulmak, and most likely heavily guarded. For all we know it may be kept at the heart of Gruumsh's territory on the Battlefields of Acheron. Surely, it may be the only place the Seekers haven't checked, for they have sacrificed their combat skills for better tracking prowess, and in the end, Gruumsh's sanctuary would be surrounded by thousands of his best warriors, if not millions. The life of the Seeker is oftentimes a solitary one, and their ranks are composed primarily of outcasts who have little else to live for but to go in search of a futile dream.
"In any case, if you are interested in that quiver, it is only 1100 GP."
Ket after finishing up his journal entry, he starts to hum a song looking at the many things around him.
As smoke rose from around the city, the troops took to their beds.
Wakeup call came at 8 the next morning, just enough time for the spellcasters to recover their spells. The troops were marched to a quick breakfast of rations before moving to the courtyard outside the temple. Josh surveyed the sky, seeing the smoke still rose. In fact, it seems even more smoke was coming form outside the city. It took to the sky and blocked out the sun, leaving a nauseating gloom over the town.
He returned his gaze to his troops, and saw an approaching ranger, one of the town's watch turned scout.
"Status, nothing too serious happened while we regained our strength, did it?"
Josh asked.
"The enemy was put in dissarray from the explosion by the marsh. However, while the tunnel was sealed, several of the town bridges were lost. Only one of the major bridges and the one by the now collapsed tunnel still stand. I believe it was our side that destroyed the bridges, to keep the enemy from crossing over too easily. However, the two bridges that remain were secured by the enemy thanks to their position nearby the embassy. The enemy has been held back for the most part, but I fear that the embassy is the foothold they need to push further onto this side of the river. Also, the East gate had to be sealed when another orc force started from the East. They almost got over with the help of Gambol, but the two units you placed at the gate managed to slay it before it made it over the wall. However, they were locked outside the gate, and were soon overwhelmed by the enemy."
"Then our objective is clear," Josh turns to his platoon, "Troops, today we see to securing this side of the river, and taking back the remaining bridges."
Marethial takes out a map and lays it down a nearby supply crate:
http://wizards.com/dnd/images/dmg2_maps/DMG2_map1.jpg (http://wizards.com/dnd/images/dmg2_maps/DMG2_map1.jpg)
Josh points to locations 22, 35, and 36.
"These are the bridges," Marethial explained, pointing at 35 and 36, then to 22 "And this is the Lizard Embassy. It's original purpose was to resolved differences with the lizardfolk and the people of Saltmarsh. Now the Lizardfolk have turned into a base of operations for themselves. Since the other bridges were destroyed, the lizardfolk have moved all their units to the embassy and bridges, hoping to secure them while they recuperate from the loss of the other bridges."
"If we are to take back the town, the Embassy must be taken Today!" Josh slams his fist.
"Master Avalon," a familiar voice spoke behind him. Josh turns to find Simon, "Your armor is ready. I hope it is to your satisfaction."
Rawk hands over the armor, which appears to have been polished alongside its enhancement. Josh sets to work immediately suiting up, but continues to talk.
"Due to their positions, we must take the bridge closest to us first. It is furthest from the embassy, and we will need to secure it, or will be surrounded if we try to take the embassy first. Once the bridge is secure, we can bottleneck those bastards. However, it'll take a little more power to take the bridge. Watchman, see to the East gate and tell them to bring the cannons to the bridge South of the Lizard Embassy. They will be crucial is breaking up enemy defenses on the bridge. Go now!"
The ranger runs off, heading for the East gate.
"As for my spellcasters, you will be assisting the cannons, but only to a degree. A fireball or two each, but you must save the rest of your energy for taking the other bridge and the embassy."
Josh finally finishes suiting up and flexes a little to get comfortable.
"Once the enemy defenses have been softened up, the grunts will swarm the bridge. I've seen what a mob of peasants can do to a single person, let's see what a mob of soldiers can do to some halfwit lizardfolk. As for the rest of you...what is that buzzing?"
Josh's gaze returns to the sky as a buzz pierces the air. Moments pass as nothing arises, when suddenly, a giant wasp flies into view, high in the sky. It is soon joined by another, then another, and another. Suddenly an entire company, about 50 wasps, fly over the wall. They continue their flight, heading straight for the temple.
"ARCHERS, AT THE READY!" Josh bellows, "PAIR UP AND PICK YOUR TARGETS! GRUNTS, GRAB YOUR BOWS FROM THE ARMORY AND JOIN IN SHOOTING THOSE THINGS DOWN! The rest of you," He turns to his team," Do what you must, but see to it that those things go down before they can try anything, and try to get a look to see if they're carrying anything. They could be attempting a bombing run for all we know, and we can't let them take this position!"
"Ok, Ket, Sven, Quav and Min, Follow me!" Amarillis Shouts. She waits for her comrades to follow her. They then round the corner and make their way through the winding streets...the streets seem oddly deserted for a town under siege..The reason becomes Quite Apparent as soon as they round the next corner.
As they turn the corner they see a nightmarish scene. A tall figure in armor and helm, both covered in red blood and green icor with patches of white ash, with great spikes jutting from the breastplate and helm, holds a sword to a dark robed figure's neck with one hand while holding the robed figure tightly in the other. As you watch the armored figure decapitates the robed figure who crumbles into dust. Suddenly you become aware of the countless fragments of animate tissue that surround you still twitching despite their separation from any body or mind. The terrible figure turns toward you and charges. Amarillis's voice rings out "Sylsaelasri". And the figure halts and looks directly at the group and gives you a good look at him. A beardless male with his left eyelid sewn shut, not disguising the missing eyeball however, flame red hair with streaks of golden hair running through and green-gold eyes. He has a elven cast to his features but is far too tall to be a pure-breed elf. The helm is shaped like a great eagle and glints of gold and bronze peek through the gore. The armor spikes are revealed as the wings of golden eagle who has in it's beak an embedded silver chain leading to a stylized golden phoenix. The entire armor is covered in feather patterns in fact.
"Amarillis Selire!, You came!" Intones the figure, sheathing his sword. Amarillis rushes forward and stands before the man. "Ortil, Nimin..." She starts only to be cut off by Ortil "How many years will it take for you to realize that Ortil Starillisslan is dead! Only Ael'haeath Starillisslanque remains..... as much as you want Ortil back, he died 34 years ago with her and you need to accept it, Selire!" "Then why does Ael'haeath call me Selire still.... Ortil Nimin?" The man who calls himself Ael'haeath and Amarillis calls Ortil, looks down at her and says <elven>"Because you still call me Nimin...and because Ortil left you with such a burden."<elven>
OOC:
Sorry for moving other people...But I did want to get this moving..and get my cohort.
Those who speak elven will recogize Nimin as a term for "Younger brother" and Selire as one for "Older sister"
Ael'haeath roughly translates to "Knight of the eternal sun".
(If you speak elven you can make an Knowledge (Religion) check) (Ket can make a Bardic Knowledge check...He has a +2 circumstance bonus on either check)
Starillisslan is "Son of the fire star" or a son of a noble house called Starilliss, Starillisslanque is a "Lost Son of Starilliss" or a male exile of house Starilliss.
(If you speak elven you can make an Knowledge (Royalty and Noblity) check (if you don't have ranks forget it)) (Ket can make a Bardic Knowledge check)
Eriam hurriedly grabs his bow and new quiver filled with arrows. in moments he is ready to take his place with the other archers his loyal hound in his shadow like always. he draws his bow aiming at one of the wasp and prepares to fire
Ket looks up and sees all of the bugs coming and cast Inspirational Boost. Then when it is done, he starts to sing but from the start of it, it sounds normal but moving more into it you hear words that seem to be coming from Celesta itself. (Everyone gets a +4 to saves against fear, and attack and damage rolls.) And Opens his wing starts to move with Amarillis but now as quick as the others and moves on top of the wall to get a better view of the battlefield.
(Non-leathal damage=5 (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/Rolls.html))
While the "We can do it" beat to Ket's song was uplifting, Marethial rushes over and casts Shield of Faith on him, to make him less of a target.
"I need a guage on those fliers!" Josh barks, "Everyone opens fire once they come within 100 feet, but we need to know how high they are up before that can be done."
Marosharr pulls out his bow, and tries to guage the distance to the wasps (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6344).
"They're at 80 yards!" he shouts, as they begin thier descent towards the group. "I see something ridding them." he adds, as he pulls an arrow and nocks it.
He takes aim and readies himself to shout out when the wasps close to 100 feet, and to fire his bow.
Marosharr squints down the length of his shaft at the approaching wasps, trying to make out what is riding them. (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6345)
"They are beginning their descent. Ready your arrows!"
The archers pull back their bowstrings, the tips poised and ready to fire upon the enemy once they are within range.
Malakin hurries into a position to cover the others with his spear, he draws a javelin and prepares to throw it once the wasps are with in 100ft...
Quav fires an Eledirtch spear (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6358) towards one of the wasps and hits it for 19 damage (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6372). The wasp is hurt but it still lives.
OOC: (in response to post below this) I know where Quav is but that doesn't mean he can't fire at one of the wasps
OOC: Quav is with me
OOC: Damn, somehow I went to think you were just outside the temple gates. Let's write that off as done in the round before leaving to follow the rest of the spellcasters. He moved 30 feet, catches what Marosharr said about their distance, and so he takes the standard action to fire off a shot before continuing on his merry way.
I feel like a movie director when I'm DMing.
Also, I could use Ket staying at the temple to help support the troops. He is the bard after all, and he'll prove far more helpful there.
OOC: Manawolf that is fine with me that he stay at the temple.
The wasps grow closer. Even Josh can now see the riders on their backs.
The time finally comes, "FIRE!"
The arrows fly, two at a time to each of 5 of the wasps. With the help of Ket's inspirational music, all but one arrow finds their mark. The first wasp finds itself hit with 19 damage, the second a devastating 23, the third 16 damage, fourth 14, and the fifth a mere 7.
The wasps continue, now at 60 feet above the group.
OOC: the characters who have their arrows trained may now fire as well.
Marosharr looses his arrow at the incomming wasps (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6383) as they come within 100 feet. The first arrow arcs up and strikes the wasp, followed by a volley of (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6382) two more arrows (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6384).
The three arrows impact the lead wasp with brutal accuracy (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6385), but fail to bring it down.
"Second pair, fire on the Marosharr's target!" Josh orders.
The two turn their bows to the lead wasp, and fire. The arrows hit, and the wasp falls into a spin. The lizardfolk hits the ground first, smacking 22 HP out of it.
The other archers fire, but there aim seems harried, as only 3 others hit. The first pair manage to deal 16 damage, and the wasp follows it's leader to the ground. The rider lands with the cracking of bones, as it is left broken on the pavement in 21 less HP.
The final arrow hit the third for 6 damage.
Eiram draws back and fires (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6388) at the wasp. he smiles as the arrow hits (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6392)
Erimes smiles then attackes with full force (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6389)
again (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6390) again (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6391)
striking with arrow (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Eiram#187027) after arrow (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Eiram#187028)
after arrow (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Eiram#187029)
The wasp comes crashing down, within another lizardfolk rider dead upon the pavement.
Malakin throws his Javelin towards the closest wasp:
To hit: 14 + 10 = 24 (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Malakin#187148)
dammage: 2 + 5 = 7 (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Malakin#187149)
Then readys another.
Despite the distance, the javelin hits the wasp the second pair of archers had hit.

Josh moves in to attack the downed lizardfolk that was still alive. He deals 11 damage from the blade, and 6 damage from holy energy. (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Josh%20Avalon#187281) Marethial moves in as well to finish the job. She hits for another 6 damage, yet it still hangs on. (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Marethial#187284)
The Lizardfolk grabs hold of Josh's leg, and Josh feels a strange burning sensation. However, he grits his teeth, and the pain quickly passes. With the flip of his sword, he drives it home into the lizardfolk's skull, and the final burning of holy energy causes the life of flicker out of the enemy. (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Josh%20Avalon#187287)
The remaining riders grow weary after seeing the act, but they still press onward. 5 of them zoom toward Josh, and the wasps turn to impale him with their stingers. However, their stingers bounce off the knight's full plate.
Two of the wasps fly back up, heading for the clock tower, or more accurately, the top of the banner upon the cathedral.
The rest buzz over the troops at 30 feet, throwing down javelins on the defenders. Many of them concentrate their javelins on Josh...but their aim proves lost. Instead, they clatter on the pavement, and the rest prove useless against the well armored and light footed soldiers.
"Archers, aim at the wasps by the standard!" Josh points with his sword, "Five to each of the two."
The ten archers split into two groups, and open fire on the wasps. The first one gets hit for a collective 24 damage by 3 of the archers, and 4 hit the other for a whopping 42. The second goes down, along with its rider from 100 feet, and both land with a splat.
"Finish off that wasp," Josh yells to his subordinates, "It can not be allowed to remove the standard!"
Meanwhile, the spellcasters, while far from the cathedral, begin to hear the buzzing noise once more. They look up to see 10 of the wasps overhead, at 120 feet.
OOC: New round, go nuts.
Ael'shaeath quickly stows his spear and removes and nocks his bow shooting at one wasp
OOC:

Amarillis nocks her longbow and fires at the same wasp (as long as it hasn't died)
OOC:

Damage 5
OOC:
Ael'shaeath has Spawn screen active for another 5 hours
And No One has made knowledge checks.
Sven looked up to the sky and knew what to do...He cast off a fireball into the air, which blows up between four of the wasps in midair. Total damage is 31 (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Sven#187464)
Quav fires a Eldritch spear (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Quav#187566) towrds one of the Wasps. It hits and causes 13 damage to it (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Quav#187567) in the process.
Min readies himself to take down any lizardmen that fall off the Wasps.
OOC: basically min is going to attack any lizardmen that land and if they are dased he'll just tryo to end their lives befor they recover.
The assualt knocks two of the wasps out of the air and the other two badly burnt. All 4 of their riders fall from the mounts, and burst into a pile of ashes upon hitting the ground.
The riderless waps turn to the other riders and attack. One of them hits with its stinger for 9 damage, but the lizardfolk stay in his mount. The two attacked retaliate, but only one hits. However, that one hit was all it took to take down one of the burned wasps. Another rider moves in to stop the final rogue wasp, and manages to do so.
The final 3 riders divebomb Sven. Two miss, but the final one hits, dealing 17 damage.
OOC: A new round has begun for the spellcasters, and the wasps that flew down are close enough to attack in melee. 3 more are still in the air. As for the people still at the temple, it is still a new round, so get shooting.
Marosharr moves to where he is within 30 feet of the closest target, and fires an arrow at it.

I find the flame of the South-east, The flame of the cold that leads to the East Flame, the destroyer. In all I find truth, and I ask for power from each. <Celestial><Elven> Shards of Cold fire<elven> Two ice crystals shaped like flames fly from her hand to each strike one of the riders in the sky . She then Retrives a potion from her pack (free) and Drinks it (move)

(Elemental darts are sort of like magic missile, but need a ranged touch attack to hit, deal elemental damage, do 1d6+1/caster level, effect objects, have a save, can crit, and are a second level spell) (the ranged touch can really help if you roll a twenty, No?)
OOC: Yes, spells that require rolling a d20 to hit can critical unless it says that it can not.
The first rider in the attack is hit hard, and flying off its mount, landed with more of a smash than a splat upon the pavement. The second manages to hold fast, despite also suffering from the wasp sting.
Sven keeps an eye for sudden moves and casts off two scorching rays apon the remaining wasps. Total roll is a 30 damage (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Sven#187616)
Keeping his spear held in his off hand, Malakin throws his javelin up at yet another wasp.
ToHit: 23 (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Malakin#187630)
Dammage:11 (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Malakin#187631)
Eiram sees the wasp dives towards the stand and takes aim firing at one wasp after the another. causing it to fall from the sky (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Eiram#187662) then without hesitation he aims and fires taking down a wounded wasp near Malakin that his comrade had struck moments before.
The two wasps fell, and one by one there numbers were dwindling. Only 35 more remained.
OOC: Alright, let's get this back on the road.
IC: The riders send their javelins flying again, but once more without guidance the javelins fall short of their target. 5 of the wasps zoom down at Josh, attempting to sting him, but they bounce readily off his armor.
Ket swoops over to before the doors of the temple, continuing his song. The doors fly open and ten more archers run out.
"Archers, 5 to a wasp!" Josh order, "Now, FIRE!"
The arrows fly, 3 hitting the first wasp for 27 damage, 4 to the second for 32, 3 to the third for 18 and 4 to the fourth for 37.
All 4 wasps fall.
Josh swings away at the wasps, Hitting two of them, one of them critically. (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=959709) He slices deep for 30 and 17 damage. (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=959712) Marethial moves in and follows up, hitting the second wasp just as hard for 18 damage. (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=959715) Then, Saeoun comes out of nowhere, and strikes the first wasp. (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=959722) The two wasps of the 5 that attacked Josh fall.
OOC: Finally speeding this thing up. Three wasps are now close enough to the ground to be attacked in melee, and there are now only 29 wasps in all left at the temple. This marks a new round, so everyone at the temple is set to go again. I still need Zaon to make his move amongst the spellcasters.
Marosharr moves himself atleast ten feet to put himself in a good position to fire at tose wasps still in the air, and to keep hemself out of the probable melee that should shape up where some of the wasps have come to ground level. He draws back and fires an arrow at one of the wasps still airborne. (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Marosharr#188033) The arrow pierces the wasp's chitinous exoskeleton. (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Marosharr#188034)
Quav fires at one of the wasps, and hits for 16 damage. Min hits the wasp attacking Sven, and hits for 10 damage. The wasp Min hits makes it's final descent to the ground. The lizardfolk jumps off and poises its lance. The two wasps still around Sven try to attack again but miss, and so do their riders. The one on the ground attacks Min, but the lance proves clumsy in its two handed grasp. The remaining wasps dive at Quav, 3 miss, but one hits, dealing 7 damage. Quav manages to stave off the poison from the sting.
Eiram draws his bow and sets his is sights on more attacking wasp unleashing a series of
arrows. (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Eiram#188102)
Another wasp falls and dies upon impact, along with its rider.
Malakin, finding targets with in reach of the ground, grasps his spear firmly and moves to attack the closest wasp:
Tohit: 5 + 18 = 23 (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Malakin#188174)
Dammage: 1+1+12 = 14 (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Malakin#188175)
The wasps are hit by Malakin and Marosharr, but remain in flight.
"Concentrate your attacks, don't stop firing at one till it falls," Josh commands, still fighting off the wasps around him.
Ket already moved to where he was most needed and takes out his Whip. Seeing that a wasp was near by and strikes (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6440) at it and almost criting (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6441) it and doing 12 damage (http://members.lycos.co.uk/noentiendo/ViewRollByNumber.php?RollNumber=6442).
The riders draw their last javelins, and 30 sticks go flying through the air. Half clink and splinter on the knight's armor, and the other half fly past, fall short, or ricochet off the half-celestial bard. Two lizardfolk take stabs at Josh, but their lances prove useless.
Josh retaliates against the already battered wasp. His first swipe hits, but the second misses. (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=974554) The wasp falls along with its rider. (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=974559)
The archers take aim at their next targets and fire. 3 hit the first wasp, 4 hit the second, only 1 hit the third, and all five hit the fourth. (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=974562) Wasp 1 gets hit for 28, Wasp 2 for 29, Wasp 3 12, and Wasp 4 a staggering 42 damage. (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=974623) Only the last one falls. 30 wasps still remain.
"Pick off the three injured," Josh orders.
OOC: Once again, a new round.
Marosharr shifts his position again to bring himself within short range of one fo the injured wasps. He fires another arrow at it. (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Marosharr#188433) The Arrow strikes the wasp through the abdomen (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Marosharr#188434), but it remains in the air, despite the arrow lodged in it's flesh and chitin.
Min attacks one of the ground wasps and causes 5 damage to it. (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Min#188469)
Quav aims a Eldritch blast at one of the wasps in the air and hits it for 13 damage. (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Quav#188474)
rapid fire attack on wounded wasp. (1d20+19=39, 1d8+7=8, 1d20+19=20, 1d8+7=14, 1d20+19=25, 1d8+7=9) (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1022314) Eriam's first short flies true then as he readies a second he is thrown off balance dropping his bow.
Malakin makes to attack another wasp with his spear:
Tohit: 5 + 18 = 23 (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Malakin#189403)
Dammage: 6+6+12 = 24 (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Malakin#189404)
(OOC: secondattack if he does not have to move:)
Tohit: 4 + 13 = 17 (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Malakin#189405)
Dammage: 3+1+12 = 16 (http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Malakin#189406)
The spear strikes well, and the wasp falls. The single arrow Eiram got off was still enough to take down another wasp.
Ket flies up to the third wasp in the bunch, and his whip rips it from the sky. (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1044496)
The riders still in the air reach for their next javelins...but feel nothing.
"Run out of ammo," Josh says smuggly, "Come back when you're restocked, though I think the results will be the same."
24 of the riders fly off, back toward the swamp, but five remain. They point their lances and stingers in a combined charge at Josh. If not for the Shield of faith, they might have made it through the cracks in Josh's armor.
Josh returns the gesture, missing on the first slash, but hitting for double on the second, dealing 22 damage to the wasp. (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1044558) Marethial and Saeoun follow up, dealing 9 and 5 damage to the wasp. The wasp falls to the ground, just another amonst the two dozen fallen giant insects.
OOC: Finally, a new round, and only 4 enemies left (the other 24 got frightened and ran off.)
Eriam picks up his dropped bow then aims at one of the four remaining wasp.
fires at wasp (1d20+19=35, 1d8+7=9) (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1054424)
Marosharr moves to within 30 of the closest wasp and fires another arrow
{to hit: http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Marosharr#190473 }
{damage if hit: http://krisinchico.brinkster.net/searchroll.asp?username=Marosharr#190475 I may be forgetting some damage bonus, though.}
OOC: You did leave out a d6. I rolled the extra, and you got another 6, bringing the total to 18 damage.
The arrow strikes hard, but the wasp still lives.
Min rushes towards the closest wasp and attacks it. He hits it causing 5 damage. (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1117302)
Quav fires off an eledritch Blast at the nearest wasp causing 14 damage. (http://invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1117309)
