Post by: Nikki on April 25, 2009, 06:17:28 PM
Perfect World International (http://pwi.perfectworld.com/)

It's free, Good graphics, Fairly few n00bs, and best of all, It's free! (With the exception of premium items~)

Alright where to start. Well i've been playing it since about October and needless to say, I've been hooked. (Hence me not posting for so long! yay!) I play a Venomancer that just reached level 27 and i'm having a helluvatime leveling up now~

It's a pretty good game and if anyone's up for playin, i'm game~

Looks interesting. Im not usually into mmos due to the whole monthly paying thing, but since this one is free... though the graphics look like they would rape my laptop for breakfast, and I hardly ever get a chance to use my gaming rig. I might give it a shot, though.

I have an account, but it's my wife that's addicted to it. XD

Most of our characters are on Lost City, my wife also started on Dreamweaver.

Hobo: Yeah, i'm pretty sure it'd eat some computers alive twice.

James: Whoo! Reeled one in! Lol, i'll have to swap from Sanctuary to Lost City every once in a while and see if i can find ya~

My main Chara's name is Ozzey, and my secondary is Kyuhyun

Hmm... It seems like my wife has switched her main to dreamweaver (and me along with her).

Oh that's funny, really it is.  I've played this since back when, but in the original Perfect World with all the really bad translations.  I have a lot of trouble getting into the endless repetition and stopped playing around level 20-something.  I was playing the fox-girl, can't remember what they are called in Perfect World Asia... having a pet to fight for me was cool though.

I probably would be trying it out right now if it wasn't taking forever and a half to download...  Asia needs better net access.

(seriously, I've got a cable modem and can play Eve Online with no lag.  Not even graphics lag *hugs his super-awesome compy*)

Update:  Five hours later... 16%.....  IT'S LIKE DIAL-UP ALL OVER AGAIN!

seriously, 0.1kb/s?!?!?!?!?!  THE HELL?!?!?!

Well, it is free to download, I bet their bandwidth is completely flooded...  But still, it's outrageous...

It's actually nice to hear that, Azlan  ;) I'm sort of getting tired of it...mainly because i keep dying due to being stabbed in the back by my team members  :<

And as for download speed...Maybe it's just me but it took me less than an hour to download. Maybe because it was a good time and it wasn't very popular yet? Dunno.

Well, I finally manged to download and install the client (after two tries due to the first download getting corrupted).  Anyway, it looks decent, but unplayable from my perspective.  Again, it appears that bandwidth is at a very high premium on these servers as I get disconnected literally every five minutes.

The funny thing is, I'm running with a cable modem on computer that I habitually keep virus free and I'm still running into horrendous lag.  Maybe it's the DDOS effect of having so many players running around, maybe it's the fact that I'm almost literally on the otherside of the planet from them in the back-ass end of nowhere, but it's not the fault of my connection on my compy.

In any case, it looks like something I'd like to play, but getting dropped every five minutes on the lowest ping server makes it nigh impossible.

Hm.

That's pretty odd, really.

Then again it IS slowly getting a bit popular so maybe that could be a cause?

*Has no idea what she's talking about*  >3>
