Title: Art Thread: Ink [MA] [Updated: 03/26/2007]
Post by: Magic on July 15, 2006, 06:13:24 AM
Ah, greetings. Care for some soul? They're quite delectable, as well as being beneficial to your life essence. I've lived nine millenia from consuming them.

Sigh.

I just wish people didn't make such a mess when you're trying to rip their souls out.

Disclaimer: There will be coming works that's a bit more severe; swordfights with the sword still in the middle of slicing the enemy in two, the like. If you're like Abel, and can't stand copious amounts of blood, close this window.

"Mages suck." My view of mages in certain games way back--

Low health. Can't fend themselves off at point blank. Worthless against people who can use metamagics (magic-alteration spells, spellbreaking, null magic fields; like that bat over there.). Worthless against Sages/Professors. (Ragnarok Online.) Worthless against some golems. Worthless against beings of pure energy.

And this is why I multiclassed a L15 Warlock with a L5 Warrior on NWN.

Now that was effective. Not as stealthy as the Ranger-Rogue, though...  :laugh

I must always revert to the quote: Any technology sufficiently advanced is indistinguishable from magic.

Very nice art.

I agree with the multiclassing magic-using types or utilizing good combat magic classes.

She is the Knight-Slayer. She's a bat, and she's devoted to the elimination of all knights, adventurers and heros. She knows no concept of good, nor evil, she knows only to kill.

I haven't given her a set age, or name yet. I need help on that.

Im guessing Vampire... it just fits the character better.

As for a name...

how about Mina Harker, as in the victim of Dracula, Brahmes Stalker [Okay that may too much of a stretch] Eliza Basley, a name derived from the Blood Countess Elizabeth/Erzsabet Bathory.

She's a-- bat. I never really got specific with the species. A vampire bat it is then.

The first would seem typical. An alteration of Mina Harker, perhaps?

EDIT: The bat, not Sonja.

I have news for you, Xzelia. Jack Sparrow is an asshole. He makes Dennis Leary look like Mother Theresa. His hair hasn't been washed... ever. There are more critters crawling around in his underwear than there are in a corpses's brain. He's perpetually DRUNK. He has an entire movie based on him being a jerk to everyone around him and betraying his crew, his friends, the people who saved his life, and the person he sold his soul to. He has exactly one moment where he voluntarily does something 'good' and then he gets vored by a giant tentacle monster.

Jack Sparrow is not sexy. Pirates are not cool.

...except for Wildy and her loyal crew.

...and maybe Luffy.

Figured. And for those of you who don't know what I mean by Soul Blade; Soul Blade is the old, old precursor to the Soul Caliber series, originally released on the Playstation 1 (the original grey box, not the vaguely-more-recent slimmed down white ones). It was probably used in arcades too, but I still have an old copy floating around for my PS.

Also known as Soul Edge - the sword around which the game was focused. Wikupedia! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soul_Blade)

Indeedy, and what a magnificent series of games it is. ^.^ Soul Edge was the arcade name for the soul blade, if i remember correctly. Either way, the series rules.

There's this nice rooftop on an apartment that my friend lives in, close to my home. There's almost always a good wind passing by there at night.

I don't know if it's pollution or not, though.

I think we have that general overlapping of eyes and hair that seems to haunt anime styles.  Maybe it's both, the cheeks too bony and the eye is too centered.  Even with your correction it looked slightly off.  Anyway, we're disgracing our guest of honor, so we should probably drop it.

I actually think that both of these look off. I think the placement of the nose is actually what does it. Looks like it needs to go a little more to the left. I think the fact that the eye is centered over the nose is what throws it off.

The figure at the front looks nicely sozzled. Scratch that, he looks like he's ready to pass out. Scratch that, he looks like he's high and shaking the hand of a tiny pixie. That glass is going to fall out of his hand any moment. Although that will probably be more due to the violent death than the trip.

To another artist, I presume.

"Who?"

For starters, those who have drawn fan art of him. Zina?

"Isn't he still scarred from being with Zina?"

Point. Well then, how about-

I was going to say that he looked a little feline for a husky, but it does actually work - it's the angle of the nose which makes the muzzle look short.

When faced with a large -battleship- named The Pink Ferret which dwarfs most Royal Navy frigates, armed with 55 24lbs cannons loaded with bomb shot, tacking at 4.3 knots broadside off port bow--

Will you surrender to the redheaded femme fatale ferret pirate or die a very fiery and explosive death?

Related to a game I'm playing now. Apparently you can play a redheaded female pirate, which amuses me to no end. Reminds you of someone?

Donny's mine. :B Don't have a lot of pics of him, though. At least, none that're suitable for this forum. This one is the cleanest, I guess.

Ooh...

Nice details on the body and hair. especially on the abs Come to think of it, you're the only one I've ever seen pull off cross-hatching really well as a method for shading, I really like it.

I think Dan's missing a tail in this, though.

When I was a kid they had a rather annoying series of adverts where an anthro fox would try to trick the polar bear into getting off the mint so he could stand on it instead (since it was a stupid idea having the bear on it anyway)

No not yet, thankfully, but as a member of the vast right wing conspiracy I'm privy to certain inside info.  If we come out ahead in  November we will be enacting a series of invasive laws to place restrictions on various people.  Page 16 of the latest errata, Part II section 1 subsection b line 37 states that among those laws will be a total prohibition on ferrets of ambiguous or non-hetero sexuality as well as a new requirement for all members of the mustelid family to get a government permit in order to wear clothing of a pink hue. We aim to please my good friend!
