Title: 02/28/09 [DMFA Filler] - Crunch
Post by: Sukasa on February 27, 2009, 10:55:22 PM
Man, that sucks Amber :/  Well, I hope you're able to find a decent mouse.  I know how annoying it can be when computers don't work, I can only imagine how much worse it is when you're tight on money  :<

Sukasa, you should probably edit the thread title. This is a filler, not the actual comic 978 :P

Nonsense, they're quite tasty if cooked properly. Granted, I wouldn't eat them myself, but I'm sure some people appreciate the flavor of a properly seasoned mouse.

In some ways, it's depressing that Amber can draw a better picture with her computer falling about her than I'd ever be able to on my best day........

:( Poor Amber, she works so hard and technology conspires against her.  Let us know if we can do anything to help.  I'd offer to color stuff for you for a few strips but I doubt you'd be happy with that solution. -_-

Ugh, yeah. Computer annoyances are annoying.

Try not to stress too much about it. And don't worry about hiatusing. If your computer isn't working right, then it's not working right.

And maybe make offerings to Daffy Duck, the Egyptian god of frustration. :)

Ah, but fried mice are so crunchy!

"Good morning, Agatha."
"Good morning, Krosp. Is that breakfast you have there? I'm starving."
"Oh, dig in."
"Aaah! It's a bowl of blue mice!"
"Ain't it great? I love this place. Eat up!"
"They're still alive!"
"Oh, yeah, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, you know."
"Where's that lightning gun? Where is it? Here it is! Hah!" *BZZZT* "Gottem!"
"Perfect! ... You make the best fried mice ever."

Reminds me of that scene in the Satiricon, with the dormice at Trimalchio's feast.

The look on Amber's face reminds me of Mr. Jinks the cat when he thinks about the mice Pixie and Dixie. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixie_and_Dixie_and_Mr._Jinks)

"I hate meeses to pieces"

Girl Genius FTW!

*wanders off to clean off the desk as the screen and keyboard shields did their job.*

Is there anything special about the mouse Amber uses?

Around here the common computer mouse costs around $10 - hardly an expense.

I'd suggest a wireless mouse so she doesn't get strangled by the cord as much...

Edit: Needed to edit out an error... :P

Did the cord from her new mouse choke Amber?

Yeah. That's a standard mouse, which is wired (point 1), and runs at, usually, around 150dpi resolution. The one she has is wireless (triple the cost to start with, last I looked) and probably one fo the higher quality ones - 600 or 1200 dpi resolution.

Not exactly cheap.

And she's also ranting because she has a place to rant. Not because she expects anyone to help. And, of course, she's also just spent a _lot_ of money on visas and the like, so she's feeling skint.

If it's not one thing, it's another, you know. :-/
