Sorry if this is obvious, but I've been looking for several minutes and I can't find it. Is there a way to delete your posts on this forum?
No. I don't like that option, as I have seen it abused in fights many a time. I find editing much better because then, if a poster edits the content away, at least we can see that they did that, and the people they're fighting with don't look like they should be hospitalized. ;)
If you double post, or decide you don't want your post around, just edit it to "delete me" or make it something silly. Either way.
Additionally, if a moderator deletes a post, it is recycled to the Abandoned Mine. Once it is deleted from there, however, it is completely gone.
Ah, ok. Fights are not approved of in other forums I frequent, I guess that's why I've never found any problems with deleted posts.
We have no issue with fights, mostly cause I can't usually stay out of them. However, the rules still apply. No trolling, and no personal shit. If it gets personal, take it to the IMs.
Oh, and when the fight gets boring for outside readers, we usually close them.

Well, he could dlete the content of the post by editing it, but we would still be able to mock him for having an empty post.

Anyway, I'd just like to point out that I've never seen post deletion abused on any forum I've been to. The one I'm in (tbk.fameflame.dk/phpBB2 (http://tbk.fameflame.dk/phpBB2)) allows post deletion if the post has not been replied to.

The biggest worry I have is that people look at who I am and not what I am saying. It's wonderful that you'll push past any and all points in an arguement and go straight for my reputation. I find things unreasonable when change doesn't occur. When people go quietly into the night and just stop talking to you about things. Nothing gets accomplished that way.
