Title: [Art] King's Art thread 11/29/08
Post by: King Of Hearts on November 28, 2008, 10:47:49 AM
Not sure if using my old thread would constitute as necro-ing, so here's a new thread.

Its been a couple of months, my PC has been busted for the most part... started to assemble a new one, replacing my old CPU part by part as I get the money for said replacement parts.

11/29/08
-Janus
-Family Portait
-Zig vs Clint

Originaly, this was supposed to be a Happy b-day pic... then I either forgot or my PC broke, its either one or the other. *shrugs*

This can only end in violence or shonen-ai... or violent shonen-ai.

Wow, these are wicked.  I don't even know where to start.

Janus giftart:

While the faces are awesome, it's actually the flowers that impress me the most.  Those look incredible.  Very stylish.

Zig vs. Clint:

I think the thing that impresses me most here is the way you do the anatomy.  It really reminds me of the sort of styles you see in Marvel and DC comics which is really impressive.  The details are great (and blended well with the color) though there is one thing that I'm not sure of (but I'm not good at this stuff) is that, on Clints arm, it almost looks like the chest muscles are attached to the bicep.  Though that just might be me not looking at it right.  Otherwise.  I have to say I'm jealous.

Family Portrait:

I love the way you've done everyone's outfits.  The clothing more so than the armor (though it's incredibly impressive) because I've always found simple garments harder to draw than the detailed ones.

Alright.  I'm done praising all over the place.  Love the work.

Newp. The Art Section gets a bye on that. Sort of - specifically for Thread Owners, rather than just generally.

Mostly, it's "be reasonable" ;-]

You'll probably find that the auto-locker has locked it, unless I coded it to avoid the art forum, which I might have - I seem to recall doing something like that...

I vote for violence and shonen-ai. >:3

Great work, KoF! In fact, every one of these three pictures is great. :] Naturally, I especially like the ZigVS Clint one. >:]

Ah, I thought that looked like Zig!  Nicely done.  Nice use of colour on the Janus pic as well.

I think I like Zig vs. Clint most. It's very dynamic. How did you do the shading on that?

Also, those are some very adorable kids in the family portrait.

And just last night I said I tend to trip over random art. Hot damn. Yay for two-faced deities that are me!  :hug

Maybe one day you'll get to that ancient idea of a serious Janus Bond action pic. ;)

Now that you mentioned it, yeah I think I shouldve run the bicep line to close up with the deltoid.

man now that was an old idea... last thought I had on the matter I think was a homage to the Goldfinger scene with the laser.

So long as you don't take the Casino Royale approach with the knotted rope. *cringe*

...granted, Bond and Doctor Jy have a markedly different relationship, but Seriousness!

Well there's the torture scene from Die another day... granted the movie in itself was torture enough.

The only part I ever saw of Die Another Day was the fleeing from the satellite cannon across the ice, and that was because it was on TV and family was watching it. You could always try another movie poster-style pastiche. Or the brawl from the start of Casino Royale. There are many inspiratory options out there should you ever decide to do the idea, anyway.  :giggle
