Played this online with my friends and, as expected, it's just plain crazy! 5 different types of randomly generating zombies with random spawn points and dark levels. I must say that nothing is more annoying than being grabbed by a giant zombie tongue and getting slashed to pieces. Anyways, it's pretty fun. I think the highlight though was being a zombie and thwarting the survivors. They are the only ones I've ever played that play entirely different than the other army.
I was severely disappointed with L4D. No matter what level you play in, the game and monsters are always the same, even online. Plus the fact that it ran alot like Counter Strike in my eyes didn't help its position. Overall, the game got very redundant very quickly. I hope that RE5 will have online play, cuz atleast that will have more depth than this game ever could -_-
I had a blast with it, and was amazed and how little dickery there was despite playing with total strangers online.
It's like people would shut up and focus on playing through, though it might have something to do with the game's AI director throwing ugly surprises at you if you idle/go Rambo/make stupid mistakes :U
It pretty much screws you over no matter what you do. The strategy I found helpful is help your allies whenever possible and keep moving.
I might have played it if Valve didn't hate PS3.
I'm getting it for PC at Christmas. Woot.
Lucky you, my PC can't run it.

Oh? What's it need that's special?
More RAM, better video card, processor is fine, though.

Ah. I was thinking of buying it myself. I'll have to check the specs carefully first, I think.
This is kind of how things went during our little match at RBW:
Sofox is pinned! A teammate must help him!Sofox: "Get here and help me, you bastard!"
Tapewolf: "Uh... where are you?"
Sofox: "Over here!"
Tapewolf: "Oh. What do I do?! What do I do?!"
Sofox: "Kill the zombie!"
Tapewolf: (Puts a bullet through Sofox' head) "Oops."

Using melee to knock the hunter off is safer, just so you know for future sessions :)

... I think you have a different idea of what "help" is to Sofox, there. ;-]
Edit:
Although, thinking about it, it
did resolve his problem...

Strangely enough, he grew less and less willing to ask me for help as the game progressed. This may also have had something to do with my strategy for dealing with a mass zombie attack (running like hell while they ate my teammates).
Not a terribly effective strategy, since it would turn your team mates into more zombies, thereby giving you a bigger problem later...
... that t-shirt (http://www.splitreason.com/product/608) comes into mind.
Add me on steam, I can't remember if the name was Fhistleb or icvdilpalazzo..... I should really get my usernames straightened out XD.
Anywho we could all play Left 4 Dead, would be tons of fun.
I want to play but I can't. When ever I try the vectors get all wonky, I'm seeing walls where there shouldn't be and at the weirdest angles, no walls where there should be and I've never seen any other sprites. on the one map I played I managed to find the invisable door and get inside the building, all the while the computer was telling me to stick with my invisible team mates, only to get eaten by the invisible zombies
I got the game for Christmas, Found out though that I need to upgrade my Graphic card before before I can play it or the other game I got for Christmas (COD4).

That sounds like the issue I'm having with the game. I hear the audio just fine but the picture is terrible.
I have one friend on Steam who plays with me. We have fun together.
And die horribly in finales 8D
Heh Tape, don't remember that scenario happening exactly but there were certainly some scenarios involving helping that happened organically.
I think at one stage I was mock claiming how an NPC Survivor was a better friend then you were.
Also, at least once during the con after playing the game, I closed my eyes and suddenly saw an image of a gigantic horder of fursuiters racing towards us.
Anyway, I've actually got this game for the PC now if anyone wants to play with me. Because I love continuous identities and my alias is unique enough, my Steam name is Sofox.
I play L4D on Steam! Add Akisohida to your steam friends! :) I have beaten every 'move' on Normal except for Blood Harvest.
Protip if your friend is entangled by a Smoker and still nearby, MELEE THEM! The Push does no damage to your friend but will break the smokers tongue. Same with Hunters. Melee them off of friends and the moment one jumps at you, the MOMENT he starts to leap, melee. With some practice, you will be smacking Hunters out of the air as they try to pounce you.
I now own each of the four posters in the game for each of the different scenarios. My room is truly awesome. Plus a t-shirt that says "No Cure. No Hope. No Problem."

Where did you get them?! I must know!
Hot Topic. The same as where I get all my nerd supplies, like gloves and do-rag with the Naruto Leaf Village symbol plates on them and my Tri-Force shirt.
Or you could try the Valve Store (http://store.valvesoftware.com/index.html).
Anyway, I got the game for the 360 (for ease of play when friends are over) the day it came out, and have absolutely loved it. Fire works out well if you're surrounded by a rush or just trying to take out the witch or tank. I still haven't managed to actually survive Blood Harvest though. The last time I was nearly into the truck when a tank punched me off into a zombie horde.
You might want to fix your link, HeroZero. Just a hint, but the forum doesn't use the " around anything in tags.
I once saw a Tank and a Hunter fighting a Witch for no reason.
Hehe. I once came within spitting distaince of the All 4 Dead achievement on PC. Incapped 2 survivors, killed a third with a smack off of the roof, and was charging the last when I finally died to fire. ;.;

if it was in vursus then they were trying to rile her up so you'd trigger her more easily.
