Yesterday certainly was an interesting day.
My mom's BF asked me and my sister if we wanted to go to the movies with him.
We went to see the new james bond movie. little did we know he had an altererior motive behind the outing. once he got both of us together he announced he was planning to ask my mom to marry him and wanted to know if we'd object.
Needless to say me and sis were both thrilled. after the movie we went to the jewelery story to help him pick out a ring... well my sis did, I'm pretty useless in a jewelers... my tastes are too simple... I felt the sizing rings were very pretty.
*chuckles*
I realy did not expect that to happen
Wow!
Nice that he asked. Question to ask is "If we objected, what would you do?", though.
Still, lovely that he took you to help him choose a ring.
Hey, that's great TGH. I'm happy for ya and family. Nice of him to take you ring shopping with him. :januscat
That's awesome news.
Congratulations to your mom!
And congratulations to you!
hmm, as I surmised from the topic title, this is, indeed, a deep subject.
Congratuations, TGH.^_^

Deep.. and possibly containing water at the bottom? *rimshot*
Congrats, TGH.
Grats big guy, I am glad you have this happening for you so quickly!
another congrats, you deserve it
as far as ring shopping, theres a wider variety of styles then you would think if you go to a good jewler. i had actually had my eye on a very nice looking (scratch proof) titanium ring with a very nice silver finish for only one hundred dollars, but i didnt give them long enough notice to craft it, so my word of suggestion is have plenty of time on rings as some may take a month pluss to make, then resize.
again, congrats, kudos, and i wish ye both well in your lives together

not something we even considered really
Don's a nice guy and he makes mom happy
pluss Mom is a big girl so we feel it's not realy our place to interfere.
Oh, don't get me wrong. It's not that I'm suggesting you should.
The response that he'd provide is the useful bit of information. Shows who he's thinking of, and what, as it were.
And yes, your mother is, indeed, big enough to look after herself. As noted previously - it's polite and friendly that he asked you, but not essential. His relationship to her is the important part - it's just that you're an important part of her life, so he's being thoughtful enough to speak to you as well as to her.
It's a good sign.
