Title: when is coincidence too coincidental.
Post by: GabrielsThoughts on November 04, 2008, 11:11:46 PM
Okay, both are stories about a racoon. and so far the only notable similarity seems to be woo, and that the star of  both comics are  raccoons, but I think the coincidence is to coincidental. Am I Just being paranoid?  The arts are distinguishably different, and the themes will likely diverge. But,  Could a Raccoon named woo  be based off of one or the other?

Maybe this is something you should be asking one of the authors...? I'm sure they can answer your question better than anyone else here.

Hey guys! Author/illustrator of Woo Tales here. Just to clarify, my comic has been around since Fall of 2006. It looks quite different now, the older comics can be found here: http://floppity.comicgenesis.com/

Must just be a big coincidence, when Woo was created I tried thinking of a name that wouldn't easily be replicated. I guess I was wrong! That's the internet for you.

I thought you named him woo 'cause that's all he said in the first comics... ya know, before he got smarted.

Out of interest, how did you find out that this query was being posed?

(Not that I'm not fully behind your right to come here and respond, mind. I'm just curious *grin*)

I often look through my referrers out of curiosity where new traffic is concerned. ^_^

Most websites on paid-for hosting have something like Webaliser, AWstats, ModLogan and so on which will show you where people are coming from.  Alternatively, you can grab the logfiles directly from the server and analyse them by hand.

For instance, I know that a couple of people who came to my comic were actually searching Google or something for Rachel Keslensky, author of "Last Resort"  :P

Along a similar vein, if you mention wikifur three times some place, wikifur automatically generates an e-mail and sends it to Greenreaper, who runs it.

Creepy! I love the internets.

... Sort of like Hastur?

You say "wikifur, wikifur, wikifur", and GreenReaper shows up?
