Title: 09/30/08 [Perfect Date Cover] - Mukucookies
Post by: AndersW on September 29, 2008, 10:39:09 PM
Perfect Date takes place in the Sims.  Who knew?

Your title is wrong. It's muku cookies, as in the item from Super Mario RPG.

The password on the cover doesn't have a space, so I didn't put one in the title.

I think he's talking about the swap of the  murucookies over mukucookies.

You also spelled it "muru". No Muku Cookies for you.

EDIT: Also, I spite you with bad karma.

Ugh. Honestly Darkmoon. You could have just as easily edited the thread title yourself rather than dragging this into an internet slap fight.

Seriously.

*edit*
In an effort to derail the topic further, I will mention that there has actually been two updates.  But the second one is a secret page that is up to you guys to find.

*EDIT* Taken care of. *EDIT*

Anyway. This promises to be interesting. I eagerly await Thursday's update to see where this goes.

As for the rant about art and artists... you're right, Amber. I don't feel like putting up an example because then I'd feel like an egotist, but I agree with you.

Out of curiosity, is this going to be similar to the Secret Cast Pages in which we have to search for secret links? Or is this more URL-oriented?

Basically, this is just an eloquent way of saying HINTS PLZ. :>

In all honesty, I'm going to be up all night looking for this. Nobody try and stop me.

Its the Konami code. "The code was first used in the 1986 release of Gradius for the Nintendo Entertainment System but was made famous in North America in the NES version of Contra." The above was taken from Wikipedia.

We're the same age, and I still don't get it. I mean, I remember a cheat code from one of my games that was fairly similar... maybe it was a reference to the Konami code. For the record, my first game platform was an N64. I'm a console boy mostly.

And I've never played The Sims either, or whatever this mini-arc is in reference to. This will be a learning experience.

Don't ban me please, :< I'm not giving a link or any info. And also I'm just gonna say, Darkmoon, if you read this, said brother of mine doesn't like you, don't ask me about it, ask him. I'm with Kipiru. Not a single clue. Can't even seem to find the secret cast pages. And the new one's harder to find? I fail, apparently. Are hints allowed on the forum, so long as they're vague enough?

The new perfect date arc does look like it could be fun, though. Even if most of us are distracted by secrets.

Can't see. Dammit. Stupid game. Dammit.") And I used to beat my brother mercilessly at Bowling all the time when we were six or seven...

I found one of the original secret pages, but I'm still two shy...

This comic (http://xkcd.com/55/) exemplifies my take on the newest secret page.

(Not to mention that Firefox 3.0 has eliminated my original approach...  :P)

Just read the comic. Don't fret about searching, because you won't find it.

@Amiga: Yes, they still are secret.

Ok, I'm 20, but I started out with an NES and a Genesis. I wish I still had my SNES, and if it had been up to me I would. However, no such luck. One of these days I intend to acquire a new one.

My collection is great for people that have never seen some of the older, or more obscure, systems. I've had a friend go "what's that?" to my TurboGraphix, and more than one person has been shocked that I own a Virtual Boy.

I heard the virtual boy was quite the bomb. True?

25, for those who are interested. My proudest old school system is the original gameboy. That thing is heavy enough and durable enough to knock someone the frig out and still work. XD

The Virtual Boy isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be, but it's not a great system. You really can't play it for more than 30 minutes or so before you have to do something else. My eyes never strained, but standing in a good position just to play the bugger isn't comfortable for long stints.

The old Game Boy is solid, yeah. I've seen pictures of Game Boys caught in house fires. The games inside them melted to the shell, but the thing would still turn on and work. You really couldn't play it, since the buttons were melted, but the internals would survive.

I have 4 Game Boys. ! regular old, One Play it Loud Red, a Color, and a Pocket (Ice Blue). I have a ton of Game Boy games, but I don't think I even own one Color game. Just never bothered...

I don't feel to old for my first being an Atari then SNES, PSX, Sega Genesis (not kidding either, markdowns are awesome), DreamCast (dead too soon Jim), PS2, NES (yay ebay), and PS3. I have a Gameboy pocket and a couple of games that my friend was throwing out but never really cared for it. I don't do portable play.
Side's, can't play Half Life mods on anything but the PC.

I feel like a tool for cheating to find the original two hidden pages months ago. I'll try and find the new one honestly for a week before I give in. :mwaha

Indeed. Though unfortunately if people are going to gloat about their method of finding it as cheating...then I suppose I shall in future time takes steps to prevent said methods from being used.  You guys are only shooting yourselves in the foot really.

Part of the whole point of the secret pages is not only to offer bonus stuff for peeps who know where to look...but to also try to get people interactive and active. I highly encourage people to share the secret pages they found. The only requirement is that you are not suppose to post it directly on the forums.

I honestly do not care about the method of finding, be it via a friend, careful searching, random luck, or more dramatic site-bending means. But if people are going to treat their methods as somehow "cheating the system"...then I am going to counter-act in equal measure.

I'll give one hint myself, Amber has mentioned where you can look for ONE of them which was in her news post yesterday but you still have to find it yourself :) I can't believe I missed the second page, I even looked where it was. Whoops aha.

It's a test of your memory skills, or if you read the whole thing... Never occured to me to look there myself and there it was when I had a nudge, go fig. Sides it's no fun telling exactly where to look if you specifically ask for hints is it? Sometimes you just have to do Prince of Persia impressions and fling yourself off things a few times then wonder how the hell it didn't occur to you to look there sooner :3

I found one of the original pages by sheer accident as I thought it was a mistake, it's certainly doable and it is good fun looking. And yes I admit I tried link things like those Jack riddles before anything else which was a bust aha.

For those who missed it, she said that the final Hybrid Genetics post was moved to the Demo 101 page, and that there was another update somewhere else in the site. She also mentioned that she was looking forward to the current update schema, I think, and that things would be entertainingly interesting keeping up with it.

Unless I'm mixing my memory with previous days, which is possible.

I presume that the same restrictions apply to this one as to the previous two, though. After all, once you've found it, it's not fair to ruin it for everyone else. ;-]

I spent a good chunk of the last 13 hours looking for the three secret pages, and found all three of them in the last hour or so.  One I actually did a google for and found a link to(though not the on-site link to it).  I then set to brute forcing it by manually scanning the pages.  The older two pages are similar.  The latest extra page would have fouled me if I hadn't been thinking to look for just such a trick, what took me so long was I was looking in the wrong place for most of the time.

Although, I feel happy  :3 for finding them  :mwaha , I was not happy when I found out I had 3 pages I HAD :eager to find, but had no clues to help me find them.  :<

Was it worth all the time I put into finding them?...honestly, no.  Don't get me wrong, I like secret stuffs like that, but I had more important things that I put off doing so I could satisfy my DMFA jones.  :cry

Heh.

Registered just to say it:

Total time to find new secret page: 1.2 seconds (I blame my slow internet connection)
Total time spent checking every single page of the site three times before realizing I had actually found it in the first seconds of the search: 28-30 hours.
Total Results: I love Amber's ability to hide the secret in such a simple way it's hard to find them if you search for them; That is, until you realize you've had it dancing in your nose wearing a hula dress and a rainbow wig and you didn't saw it.

About Gaming Consoles: In my times we didn't have any fancy schmancy videogames! We had sticks! Two sticks, and a rock. And we had to share the rock; And we had to go twenty miles walking with hands, up a hill, in winter, during a snowstorm, to get the rock. You're lucky about your new generation consoles. =P

In truth, my first console ever was my father's Game & Watch ("Fire", the 1980 edition), then I got a SNES, and kept playing it for a loooong time until almost the end of the N64. Followed by a GBA, once again near the end of its time. It's just recently I acquired a NDS (For free, won in a contest), and it'll be ten or more years until I get another one.

__

p.s. Hello everybody. Passing through mandatory introduction thread later; I'm a little short of time right now.

I'm 18. The NES was my first. It pwnt me. Stupid mario bros...
The SNES was my second with me viciously attached to Kirby Super Star and Kirby's Avalanche.
The PS1 was my third starting with Frogger and Spice World (sister's), then maturing into Final Fantasy and Chrono Cross. PS. Final Fantasy Origins was my first RPG, followed by FF Tactics.
The GBC and it's GBB&W back compatibility led me a safe time considering GBB&W doesn't play GBC. *phew*
N64 and Hey You Pikachu were my next, also grabbing Zelda:OoT and Pokemon Stadium.
Gamecube came next with more games than I can single out. (ToS, Luigi's Mansion, FFCC, etc.)
Gameboy Advance came after I lost my GC, unfortunately. Loved it, though.
My DS is now my current prospect of gaming, alongside my laptop.
I plan to get a Wii sometime, then save up for a PS3. XBOX can and WILL wait until I somehow bore myself with the previous three.

EDIT: I've found two out of three, and I need somehelp with the last one. If someone could help me via PM *hint hint* that would be good.

Yeah, my replacement PS2 was the Singstar bundle so I could have a white one. I didn't want another black one and I knew everyone would want the Silver. Besides the included usb microphone is of awesome quality and works with your computer.
The Singstar game is happily sitting in the box out in storage.
