Well, at long last it's happened. Jack Thompson has been permanently disbarred from the Florida Bar. He has 30 days to clear his affairs before the disbarment takes effect. He will go to another state and try to apply. If they refuse him, he will start slandering them and doing all sorts of dumb crap like he always does. Ever notice how he always states he is a 'Chritsian lawyer'? Like his religion makes him more important or something? :P
I think he uses it more like a shield than just an attention getter (and it helps him drum up support, no denying it). If anyone attacks him he can use it to claim that it's because he's a Christian and he's getting slammed for it... not that he's a piss poor lawyer and a bit of a jerk. It's been a part of his argument against the Florida Bar a few times I believe.
Because, you know, Christians are horribly oppressed.

You have to admit that now a days Christianity is getting assaulted a bit in the western world. It's still quite large enough that it can defend itself just fine, but it's becoming more and more common for people to mock it and put down it's practitioners and the faith itself (with or without facts to back up the mockery no less). There are a lot more groups out there whose views differ greatly from it and a lot of them are becoming more vocal about their opinions. Do I think this is bad? No. Not at all. I'm one of those with differing views. It's new to a people/faith who were for the longest time the dominant force on the northern half of this continent (American Continent that is) and a large presence on many others. Some folks have even gone so far as to feel targeted as a result of people who have differing views and who voice them just as loudly as any other.
Jack T. has come across as one of those people who feels targeted for his faith... and not his poor ability in the courts and his misbehavior.
Edit: and even if he doesn't feel that, he knows that there are people out there who do and that they will relate with him as a result.

Stop me if I'm wrong, but isn't "Thou shalt not bear false witness" part of the Christian doctrine? It's pretty much all he's ever done. That said, some of his responses were so bizarre, that it just makes me think he may actually be insane.
