Title: Symphony named Best Side-Scroller by GameObserver.com
Post by: Jix on August 22, 2008, 04:27:37 AM
Hey guys, just thought I'd let you know www.GameObserver.com (http://www.gameobserver.com) named SOTN the best Scroller of all time.

http://www.gameobserver.com/features/inside/all-platforms/top-20-scrollers-38/ (http://www.gameobserver.com/features/inside/all-platforms/top-20-scrollers-38/)

In a Top 20 it beat out classics that included Metroid and various Mario titles.

Well, I'll be danged. That'll make some people on the forum happy. I mean, it's just a Top Twenty list, but someone thought that it was worthy of the position, so that counts for something.

Of course, the sad part is that I haven't even heard of half of those games, let alone played any of them.

Incidentally, may I be the first to say "Welcome aboard," Jix?

Thanks!

I personally never heard of Guardian Heroes until now, but I guess the game must be good if it got the 3rd spot...

I never heard of Guardian Heroes either.  Then again, we never did much with the Saturn when we got it oh so many years ago.  I'm surprised that Metal Slug didn't make the top ten.  That was a pretty awesome game.  And I'm rather pleased with they way they represented the Mario series.
