Have you guys heard of this one yet? People Magazine got copies of the Pitt-Jolie twins and are running the pictures in their magazine. They spent fourteen million dollars on these pictures. WTF. Fourteeen million? I got a niece and nephew, and I can't even give their pictures away. And they're cute kids too (my niece and nephew I mean)!
Eh, it's been on my local news the past couple of days. I try to not listen to celebrity stories/gossip and stuff, I figure it only encourages them.
But yes, $14 million does seem rather excessive for something like that.
That is way too much money for baby pictures. That stuff should be free. Cute babies. :D
damn, isn't that nearly as much as they get for making a whole movie?
worst part is that if they paid that much, means they will actually make more than that from selling gossip magazines, which then means there's loads of people who waste their times reading this kind of crap
Ay gewalt. That is absolutely insane. Yes, babies are cute (I'm glad we agree about that) but 14 million for pictures? Nuts. Just plain nuts.
Please tell me I am not the only person on this forum who doesn't follow celebrity news.
I don't normally follow celebrity news. But I heard this one on the radio, and it was outrageous enough for me to post about it.

Boxy, you get a hug. :hug It may not be a Random Hug, but it's a hug. You have no idea how much better that made me feel.
Hug approved. -double hug- All that "news" is just ridiculous nonsense.
I quite agree
where can i find someone willing to pay me to take photos of my offspring?
i bet eowyn is ten times cuter then those celebrity spawn, and at least fifty times more lethal
OMG dude 14 mil? Thats crazy. Maybe if my niece and nephew get famous ill sell their baby pictures for boatloads of money.
If you birth it, they will come...
That's a lot of money.
Hope Jolie would donate much of it [Or all of it] to charity.

the only people that would pay for those are the kind of people you don't want near her.

Hey, you're from Denver? Cool, that's where my mom's from! Well, the Fort Collins area, but that's pretty close (says the guy who drives a hundred miles each way to visit his parents on the weekends).
But back on topic, I can't say it enough: This. Is. In. Sane.
Yus, Denver :B 100 miles each way? daaaang~
Also back on topic, i think the money would be better spent on much better things. such as...oh let's say...Alternative energy sources? Or maybe taking care of vets? Hm...this gives me an idea.
It's not as stupid as it may look. It's a price paid for something that will help sell more copies of People Magazine. The price being so high gives plenty of attention from other media, and having your brand mentioned again and again and again is always effective (and free) advertising. They probably get more press out of this than if they'd spent the 14 million on adverts. I'm sure many people initially going "WTF" over this info will end up picking up a copy of People just to see what the hubbub's about. By which I don't mean the babies, but the magazine itself.
It has the opposite effect on me. I might have taken a look if it was just casual pictures taken for nothing. But with this sort of fanatical nonsense, I'm actively avoiding the pictures.

I don't read that claptrap anyway, so it's not so much as I'm avoiding it as I am doing what I do anyway. Yay me.
And you can probably see them for free on the internet anyway.
my wife reads 'people', mostly to keep track of whats coming out soon, crosswords, and to laugh at how stupid people are. some of the random articles are weird though, and have nothing to do with celebrities or entertainment just to confuse you
We get the media we deserve.

That's what I meant. I might see a magazine in a rack at the store, or something on the Internet in a news site. But now I turn in disgust and assure myself of seeing nothing! Bah! :P
