So I'm at work, typing away like a good little code monkey and I realize.. I've got a lot of ways to waste time. So I figured everyone else does as well. So, what are your favorite safe for work ways to waste time?
Currently mine are:
Digg (http://www.digg.com)
Cracked (some nsfw, check first) (http://www.cracked.com)
The Register (particularly odds&sods/bofh) (http://www.theregister.co.uk)
Slashdot (http://slashdot.org)
Foamy (potentially nsfw, tread lightly) (http://www.illwillpress.com)
Ars Technica (http://arstechnica.com/index.ars)
And off course, webcomics and forums but if I were to start posting those, we'd be here a while. Unfortunately at my work streaming video is a no-no (unless it's for a work presentation, and even then you need approval) so things like youtube and google video are out for me (and some of the stuff on cracked for that matter too).
Well, there's this forum (http://clockworkmansion.com/forum) that I frequent...
I spend a lot of time gaming though. A lot of time. My current biggest timewasters are retro games I've downloaded from Abandonia (http://www.abandonia.com) and Home of the Underdogs (http://www.the-underdogs.info/). My interest in retro games has spiked recently since I finally got DOSBox (http://www.dosbox.com) to work properly on my computers. Now I'm not completely dependant on VDM Sound (http://sourceforge.net/projects/vdmsound/) to run my older DOS games.
There's Furcadia (http://www.furcadia.com[/url) which I spend a good deal of time on.
I also put some time aside to check up on the Mother 3 Fan Translation Project (http://mother3.fobby.net/). I check it several times a day.
Then there's also Newgrounds (http://www.newgrounds.com). I check it daily, several times a day, to see what's new.
And then there's a whole list of comics that I read on a daily basis.
It's a wonder I get any work done at all during the work week.
I argue about sports on the internet.
Well, aside from posting on forums like these, I also skim forums like these. A lot of the time when I'm bored I try to think up ideas for my fantasy universe (which is part of the reason that I carry a small notebook with me everywhere - so that I can write down ideas as they come to me). Then there are the webcomics (all five or six of them that I follow with any real frequency). I really have no life, even on the internet, do I?

I'm currently on three other forums besides this one. Two of them are related to El Goonish Shive (http://www.egscomics.com/).

Only five or six?? I have about thirty on my webcomic list (http://www.users.on.net/~richrocks/webcomics-list.htm).

Well, aside from DMFA, the only one on that list that I really follow is Ozy and Millie. I actually have the original copy of the May 30th issue... aka "the proposal" issue.
Let's see...
VG Cats
DMFA (duh...)
Questionable Content
Irregular Webcomic and Darths & Droids
Ozy and Millie
...
And there are a few that I check up on occasionally (Oh My Gods immediately rises in my head), and I'm trying to find a point where I can add CVRPG to that list. Sheesh, I really do have no life, even compared to other people on the internet. That makes Mow sad... :mowsad
Surfing the tropes wiki. This forum and the irc occasionally. I carry my ipod just about everywhere, so I can always just close my eyes and listen to the music. Webcomics too sometimes, but I prefer to check those at home. I've got about 21 of those that I check daily. About 8 or so that I don't read that regularly.

Ah, forgot the Tropes wiki! I should probably get an account there at some point so that I can help out there... if it weren't for the fact that it would take me away from here.
As for my iPod... it's not a time waster for me, it's the soundtrack for my life. In all seriousness, I just like listening to music, so it basically goes wherever I go.
Most of my timewasters are offline, in the form of hobbies or books. Or spending time with my :januscat :januscat :januscat :januscat :januscat herd of cats.

Even better, you don't need an account. All the account does is not make you pop in an "I'm not a bot" password everytime you edit.

Are you trying to get rid of me, Fragmaster01?
I browse the Phoenix Wright Kink Meme and fill in requests under an anonymous handle.
I talk to my friends, draw, dick around in Photoshop, and write. RPing is my primary time-killer.

Would it lessen your spam posting if what he said is true? ;-P

Drat! They've figured me out!
RPing, mostly. And Megaman, which is a sudden and bizarre new obsession.
I'm still in my new person probationary period at work, and don't have a lot of free time anyway- if I do get bored, I tend to hit news sites. Technically, it can be spun as doing work (I work as a media relations specialist), even though BBCNews, Drudge, and a few others I go to will probably never have anything to say about my employer.
my favorite ways to waste time are:
-watching tv
-playing videogames...and some "Mabinogi" (by Nexon Corp)
-surf the net, and rp with people...sometimes on forums, sometimes on messenger.
Video games, video games, video games. Sometimes I go on youtube, but I spend alot of time playing VGs.
Did you mention that you like video games :P
I spend my time here, doing some StarCraft mapping, and working on a TC Mod for a game that probably nobody here's heard of.
Ways to waste time, unfortunately i have alot of time to waste and am way too lazy to list my methods for killing boredom so basics are:
Video games, perhaps a movie, talking to random people on the internet, talking to random people in my town, practice swordsmanship, go camping, work, attempt to write things, annoy my cat with a strong of fabric, cook food, draw stuff, rant about things to people who could probably care less, re-read random arcs of dmfa because dmfa never seems to lose its awesomeness..and yeah..that should do it for now.
Wasting time... I don't really have time to waste. But I find some to waste anyway!
I usually watch lots of anime and think how cool it would be to have powers and giant robots.
Or I sit and read snuggled up with my great big plush lion, Alondro! He's so snuggly cuddly! Squee!
*Charles is sleep-deprived again from an all-nighter in the lab... in case it wasn't already obvious* :mowdizzy
Favorite ways to waste time...hmmmm...I admit that during breaks from classes I have a LOT of time to waste, so it's hard to know what to even start doing. x3
In short my favorite activities are video games (like many others here, oy), or reading, or walking outside, or sitting on the porch and watching hummingbirds fight over the feeders, or browsing YouTube for various things, or drawing, or listening to music, or writing, or posting here, or posting other places, or reading through a webcomic's archive (if I'm REALLY bored), or just chatting with people...if they don't find me much of a bore anyway. ^^;
Work safe method of screwing off, hmm, that'd be TV Tropes, Pandora, this forum, and some other ones.
