Title: Fluffy's Gender?
Post by: Raiettei on May 14, 2008, 07:06:11 PM
Just askin'.

That's never been disclosed, has it?

...or HAS it?

Eh, sometimes Fluffy is referred to as a he, sometimes as a her...considering that bow they wear, I think of them as a she.

That kind of renders this topic useless, doesn't it?

I always figured Fluffy had been either spayed or neutered, so it's gender was pretty much rendered a moot point.   :mowtongue

When I first saw that white bow (I think much earlier than the posted example) I thought it was a bone, like you might see in a hairdo on the Flintstones. That said, I generally consider Fluffy to be a she (regardless of Aleolus' "fixed" suggestion, shame on you ).

Or possibly none of the above (herm/none(asexual)/undefined (in the case of non-dual-gender creature types)).

The problem is, Fluffy thinks its obvious...  and anyone who's checked was left as nothing but a blood splatter, so never lived to speak about it.

I'm sorry, but even though this is my own topic, I thought I might as well toss my thought out there...

If it were ever to be voiced, dont'cha think it'd have a voice ACTRESS sounding MALE?

This post doesn't matter much, but whatever.

I'm Outta My Mind!

Thank you.

Without knowing which Fluffy is, it makes him/her difficult to cast.  That's one reason we've mostly skipped the Amber/Fluffy scenes.  Having said that, we will need the 'mimes' scene when the SAIA arc is finished but it's something we'll think about closer to that time.

Nah, I'd follow situations like this in shows where
a)you think its a girl, but its actually a guy---girly enough voice that could be borderline male
b)just what gender is (character)---inbetween voice slightly girly, occasionally manly
c)girl in disguise(e.g. Natani from TwoKinds, if she were voiced)---Manly base, when caught unaware or in moments of stress, girly shriek/whining
d)actually third/no gender---alternate neutral/girly/manly

and while I'm thinking about it, if Deebs were voiced it's have to be sqeaky girly except for exclamations, like DEATH BRINGER needs a deep voice

I always imagined Deeb's "DEATH BRINGER!" as being even squeakier XD

In truth... I kind of imagined Deebs having the same kind of vocal stress as Lil from the Rugrats. So yeah, she would kind of squeak when she exaggerates... Wait... I don't even know if that makes sense.
I think Deebs' voice exaggeration would compare to her normal voice like Lil's exaggeration compared to her own. Does that make sense?

When I think of Deeb's voice I think of Akira from Lucky Star http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nHbQuz3uww (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nHbQuz3uww), with the deathbringer being the deeper voice when Akira is pissed off.

simply get Tony to voice Fluffy. Job done.

What's to stop amber from just making another gender?

I always thought only having 2 genders was a little limiting for storylines xP

"Fluffy. He's just a mangy fuzzball with a bow."

Amber did this on purpose. Fluffy's gender is not meant to be known. (http://missmab.com/Comics/Vol_825.php)

Neither. He's still alive and moving at the end of it.

I was referring more to the looking than the success of the "kill" attack (ok, so the last one wasn't even an injury attack)
