I really don't care what you post. After doing a few of these I learned to stop looking for serious answers. I know I didn't get all the villains but everyone I talk to seems to agree that these are the only ones worth mentioning.

For me it's a toss up between Kefka and Sephiroth.  Most of the hardcore fans will compare every FF villain to Sephiroth.  But Kefka was downright f'ed up insane, and you can't say that the Light of Judgment wasn't something you'd like to have in your hands.

But I chose Sephiroth anyway because when it comes to the badass factor, Sephiroth wins out.

I chose Kefka. I was introduced to Final Fantasy through FF 4 and 6 (2&3 US), and no villain I've seen has equaled Kefka in deception, sadism, and raw insanity. He was portrayed as the right-hand man to the obvious big bad very well, right up to the point that he stabbed the emperor, shoved him off the floating continent, and ruined the world.

Sephiroth, I dunno. It's probably just backlash to the rabid fanbois I've seen on the interwebs, but the Sephiroth I've seen in the game and the Sephiroth I hear about don't quite match up. He struck me as insane, but not quite as dangerous to be around as Kuja or Kefka. Anyway, Sephiroth tried to end the world. Kefka did it.

Yes Kefka was an evil, sadistic, backstabbing genius! However I still saw him as slightly sane. Sephiroth however was ENTIRELY insane. I agree that it was a toss up between the two.  And now random Final Fantasy related smilies. :kefka :choco :moogle :cecil :rm

Kuja destroyed a world cause he got a little mad.
So I go with him. Plus his demeanor amuses me.

Garland.

I mean, how do you compete with ``I, Garland, will knock you all down''?

Well Sephiroth almost got away with it.  I mean, he did successfully summon Meteor and it did wreck up the place pretty good, and killed a lot of people in the process.

I think that Kefka exemplifies the term villen.  Sephiroth is the most bad-ass cahracter, but he's not particularly evil (a sociopatic momma's boy, maybe...) because he doesn't seem to understand what's wrong.  Kefka knows darn well what he's doing is wrong, and he revels in it.

*is crucified by Sephiroth fangirls*

True. He was one of the more successful villains. (emphasis on more) PRAISE HOJO!

(Couple spoilers)

I never played XI, so I couldn't say anything about that game.  Of the remaining people, Sephiroth is the only one who's truly badass enough.  Seifer was just some stupid kid who got greedy, Kuja was too much of a pansy (feathers in the hair, make-up, wanting to marry Dagger), and Seymour seemed to have a bit of a point when it came to his motives, but I wouldn't have done anything to support him.

So, since I know nothing of Kefka, I say Sephiroth.

Could be worse, you could have thought it was refering to Fur Fighters (http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/image/445100.html) or it's Sequal (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/image/468554.html).

Oh, Sephi was evil alright, he spent at least 20 years as a normal person and had all the values of a regular human- but at one point he suddenly decided he was some greater being and all human lives were worth bupkis. thats the point, thinking that a human life is worthless almost always is the core of how 'evil' someone is.

'No. It ain't. When people say things are a lot more complicated than that, they means they're getting worried that they won't like the truth. People as things, that's where it starts.'

... That's an interesting position with a certain amount of value to it, Brun.

How about folks who think people are worth something, but still go ahead and kill people anyway?

Oh, I know he was normal before, but I think that he didn't choose his course as such.  I get the impression that he became insane with the mako poisoning and learning the truth of his origins.  Sure, he ahs a few evil moments right before that going insane, but he's not entirely corrupt in the way that Kefka is.

where the heck is queen brahne from 9 or Beatrix while she was evil? i would vote for them truthfully
Title: Re: Random FF question. >.>
Post by: Eibborn on January 11, 2008, 10:27:20 PM
Really? Brahne was such a low-grade villain, if you ask me. She was being manipulated from behind the whole time. It was Kuja who really ripped everyone apart. And Beatrix is AWESOME, but in no way a villain. She's a good person, just following a person who isn't, but used to be. It's the good old loyalty vs what you think is right dilemma, same as Steiner's.

I like my bishounen and all, but in terms of villainy Kefka is your man. The man was sadistic, of questoinably sanity, and actually succeeded where many villains fail - destroying the world.

And then presided over the World of Ruin until the protagonists managed to pull themselves together and take him down.

we shoudl create a ratings system for vilians- categories include evilness, bad assitude, an  'oh shit' factor to measure how insanely powerful they are, cunning, organizational skills, and some measure of how feared they were.

some of our 'great' villains may have crap scores in one or two categories

Sephiroth.  There's just something about a guy carrying around a six and a half foot long sword and swinging it as if it were a carving knife that freaks me out.

Yup. With Kefka, the protagonists didn't have their final showdown with the villain at the last possible moment before his plans came to fruition. He already went through with those plans, and had been having fun just toying with the world for months before the heroes finally assaulted his tower.

I haven't played the game in a long time, but wasn't his endgame pretty much "Well, I've destroyed the world. The next logical step is godhood! Whee!" which he -also- actually achieves (if his final form is anything to judge by) but is taken down anyway.

Kefka's awesome.
Title: Re: Random FF question. >.>

I'm pretty sure the godhood happens first, then he tears the world apart.
(spoiler ahead)

...

...

...

...

...

I'm pretty sure that it counts as achieving godhood when he stole the three godess's power messing with thier statues and proceeded to used that power to rip the world asunder and remold it as he saw fit.

Probably one of the only Final Fantasy games where the final villen isn't some random guy that shows up when you defeat the guy you've been struggling against the entire game, but is actually that guy.

gawd whats with missing out the first lot, they had some weird bad guys they are well worth mentioning especially with how long it takes to kill ff 4 and ff2's bosses, like 5x longer then 6-X2

as probably one of the only people to complete every squaresoft game ever made (i will not recognise enix's work)

i'd say the best bad guys are definitely azul from dirge of cerberus. kuja from 9 and the originals badguy chaos from ff1.

sephiroth has gotta be the worst boss ever as far as time to kill goes, it takes 3 minutes, 5 lots of kotr summon with hp absorb, mp absorb attached and x-summon and both forms lose without causing any damage.

oooh, and yiazmat from 12, that thing took me 30 hours to kill. gawd it had 3 dozen health bars and 50mil hp.

Well, come on, any boss is a pushover if you level yourself excessively and get all of the the best summons and weapons.

Maybe you ought to count the time spent getting Kings of the Round, as well.

Post by: NDDR on January 15, 2008, 08:58:15 AM
it took me around 2 hours to get a golden chocobo to get to the island with knights of the round, knights of the round then takes approximately 3 hours to master when lvling up on bouncers in the last area before sephiroth. they give excessive points to materia, also used that method to get 8 master summons/command/magic, i have 2 of each equipped to each member of the party.

second worst boss is every single one of them in final fantasy 8, as Selphie had a move that could beat them all in 1 turn each battle, kinda defeats the point of having fights in the game at all.

12 had the best bosses as far as challenges go. the last boss had 409,264hp and is immune to all attacks for half the battle, Fafnir had 1,390,378hp, Hellwyrm had 8,930,711hp. Omega Mark XII had 10,370,699hp, yiazmat with 50,122,254hp and immunity to all affects and an instant full heal technique used if u don't get to it and use dispel in time.

as far as story goes, kefka was definitely the most evil boss, poisoning Doma castle and wiping out the planet twice.
