Title: A walk down memory lane by an old Lost Lake resident
Post by: PegasusJF on June 14, 2007, 03:09:25 AM
By an impulse I decided to walk down old paths.  Reminescing over old friends and the places we meet.

For the first time in years, I've returned to Furcadia.

I remember when I first came on, around 1996 IIRC, intrigued by the stories of a talented artist, Carrie O'Kaye.  I happened to meet one furre, her name started with a B, bellia IIRC.  After wandering around I found Lost Lake, and met Alexsi.

Needless to say, I was instantly enamored with Furcadia at that point.

Alexsi was instantly welcoming, she was a very loving person, someone to talk to, a shoulder to cry on.  Through her I met many of the other characters who become regulars or cameos on this fine strip.

I heard her voice once, it sounded mature for her real age, but it was a kind, loving voice.

I still have an old picture of her on my computer, she was most beautiful.

I wasn't active in Furc when she died, I actually didn't show up much before (to my regret, she always welcomed me with a very enthusiastic "PEG!" when I came around).  I actually learned the news here....

The one thing I miss the most about Furc, well, back then the client didn't have an effective chat log system like it does today. I'm a bit fond of looking through old chat logs (I have 3 years worth for EVE Online that I dive through on occasion).  It would have been cool to look through the logs where I first met Alexsi, Mab, Merlitz, Kanni, Wildy (I do miss you Wildy), and other fond friends.  Plus the enjoyable and meaningful conversations we had since then.

Lost lake was very much like it was way back when.  Some extra pretty graphics but it's all good (though it was hard finding it in the mess of dream portals that now exist in Allegria).

Well, I think I've vented enough.  I know I'm not a frequent poster but I needed to speak felt that this would be a good place to do so.

To Miss Mab, keep up the good work and thanks for the recent cameos!

Also, congrats on your marriage!

To some in Furc who might remember me:  I hope you are well, and pray for abundant blessings.

To Alexsi:  You are not forgotten, may you rest in God's peace.

God Bless

No, you're still the vet you are, I have always been a fan of DMFA, but only sporadically went on the forums.

I wish I was around in the earlier times. I was new to DMFA by... um... *does math*... 2004 or 2003 (can't remember exactly).
I was there when Amber's brother messed up the site, resulting in the new look we are familiar with today.

Man, I still haven't been on Furcadia since the sister-related-computer-crash incident of November 2005. I mean, I was on a few times at my mom's, but she probably doesn't want me to be there. The names I was using were probably deleted. (Which reminds me, hm, wonder if whoever has that "Lili Zanotto" alt is still using it...?)

Welcome to the forums, Pegasus. It's verah nice to meet you. :3
(Man, what's Furc like, now? My friend called me and had me look at the new Digos.)

Say Pegasus. This is probably gonna seem like a dumb question but I'll ask anyways. Since you were there back in the early days, does that mean you're who Dark Pegasus was based on?

I believe it has been asked before, or maybe I dreamt that up. I can't remember. Sounds like something the wiki should have an article on.

Considering there are only 14 posts in this thread (15 counting this one) and not one of them says anything about it. And Pegasus has 4 posts total, 3 of which are in this thread and the fourth is in a thread from 2006 that, from his post, has nothing to do with the character Dark Pegasus.

I didn't think to check the Wiki so I'll go do that then.

It may have been before we made the switch to this new forum, but I could swear he's been by before and people have posed the question. He is obviously one of the old LL people, but whether or not it's related to DP is anyone's guess.

Nowhere near that point, I just thought this thread had run it's course.

In fact, I got something I'm working on for your viewing pleasure!  :mowsmile

Meh, I tried to get into Furcadia, but I never found anything that stuck. Lack of good companionship, I guess.

Anyway, I never knew you, but it felt good to read your post.

Cameron already said that Kaskar, awhile ago I might add.

:rolleyes Or even the Pegasus, in the early Warrior team in the 'Merelitz and the Human' flashback ... ( I do remember to read the flashbacks, even the one when Merl was on a date with Mab ... )

I was just wondering why you just quoted me, with no further text? Maybe there is a problem caused in being different time zones, and also that I try to continually update my posts. The previous quote given, and the one present is due to me updating my posts, instead of just doing another.

If readers look at my major  posts, they should look at them later, to see what I have updated.  Maybe that is part of why I seem to talk gibberish. Time-Lag ...

Just noticed that Llearch, thanks.

Kaskar as I'd said in the now fixed post. Proof you don't pay attention the way you seem to want everyone else to pay attention to you. I'll say this loud and clear so you hear me.

CAMERON ALREADY SAID SEVERAL POSTS AGO THAT PEGASUS IS PROBABLY THE ONE FROM MERLITZ'S GROUP. PAY ATTENTION IF YOU WANT US TO PAY ATTENTION TO YOU!!!

Did you get that?

Well, I did say I would make something special for you guys.  So here it is.

Some one hour-ish sketches of Pegasus Job Fidelis.

and...

Comments would be appreciated.

God Bless

ps...some random bio factoids.

My character is the Pegasus was and is (in Mabs continuity) in Merlitz's adventure party.

My character's story focuses on what happened before he came to Lost Lake.

pps....Wildy!!! Nice to see you!

EDIT:  Sunny-Chiba, yes, I do remember that name, I'm afraid specifics elude me atm, so any refreshing of my dodgy memory would be appreciated.  But anyway, thanks for replying!

really sorry to say this, but...

Quote from: Hubb, Second-Hand Lions
Nothing sadder than a couple of old has-beens talkin' about their glory days.

is something I agree with.  As nice as it is to see that an old-timer from Lost Lake is here, focusing on the past like that is more depressing.

Looking back never told anyone where they were going.

But also remembering past joys can help strentghen a person's spirit.  Focusing on them excessively, yes, that is bad, but otherwise, it's a good thing.

Yes, this is true.  As with everything in life, it requires a fine balance, and remember that in Second-Hand Lions, Hubb was pretty much proven wrong during the whole movie, as his brother tells their grandnephiew about those glory days.

Still, there are a couple of boards I could go back and do exactly this same thing at.  One wouldn't remember me, though they'd still give a warm welcome.  The other has exactly one person there who misses me, and with all due respect, he should really move on.(Even if he did manage to get back in contact, he'd find I'm a very different person)

If your past is worth reflecting on, that's great.  Mine is better left forgotten.

I'm not going to welcome you back to the board, old-timer.  I will, however, welcome you to the board, new guy, hope you enjoy the experience.

   8) The one-hourish's sketches look fine by me. A bit of inking, and if you want to, colouring, could tend to enhance the picture. But then, you get to an end point of, " What would make it look even better ? ", and tend to waste time.

I also assume that the Pegasus mentioned is the same one as the one used in the recent " Get me to the Church on time Chapter ",  where Abel had morphed himself into Merlitz's form, and maybe this Pegasus shows some of the same attributes as the ones shown in the chapter ...

No, that's not it, he's just being stupid as he's forgetting the fact that merlitz's adventuring party showed up in both chapters and is not actually two different parties.

Sorry, PegasusJF, if I had misconstrued , or misunderstood any of the major points in your character. What I do not understand is why everyone is making such a big thing about it.

Hey, it's all good.  I'm just a minor character here.

Such debates might become more relevant when I release my own story that focuses on Pegasus's life before he came to, well, in Mab's it's Furrae, in mine, well, I'll have to figure out something that sounds good, but generally in Furcadia.
