ho-hum...so i guess being royalty isn't all that now huh? and talking in third person? Za?
and probably only after a week or so =3
Edit: And by a week i mean by Fae-standards...
How many laws are they up to now? I sure there were some who went overboard out of the gate.
Going by what we know of the Fae, there must be some pre-ety unusual laws out there.
Maybe some laws made out of boredom?
'Thou shalt not park thy elephant on the sidewalk on sundays'
Hehe, "thou shalt not bring a non-fae to thy fae-kingdom or lest the universe shalt explode".
Considering the length the fae have existed, it could happen. :)
No one is allowed to carry an ice cream cone in there back pocket
It is illigale to have a donkey in a bathtub
Anyone entering the fae realm for the express purpose of commiting a crime must have written consent from the riegning monarch
I hope there is a 'thou shalt not consume a turnip or derivitives there of, durring a blue moon without laying a pair of pants on a table.'

I love it XD
"No fae is allowed to look masculine"
XD
i love that one too.
Another question: how long was Mab Stressed ou----i mean...queen? ^^;
*still celebrating*
I wonder if the third person thing was a early rule "Thou shalt refer to thyself in the third personar if thou art monarch." particularly like the "Surprise, oh the monarchy you shouldn't have." panel.
I'll bet a few of those laws are for things like censuses (hey, they need to figure out how many of the 2,438,165 are outside of the fae realm) and administrative stuff.
Maybe some of these were passed in the Fae kingdom?
Stupid Laws (http://www.skrause.org/humor/stupidlaws.shtml)
Poor pity person who has to sit in the stinky throne and so forth..And I am royality as well..And AMber...I know your pain of June as well :cry
:mowhappy I wonder if a fae king or queen is allowed to delegate powers. Mab talks here of making laws. A queen does not need to be there to do all the menial paperwork. They should be able to enjoy some of the perks, and enjoy. However, if Wildy was a fae, the fae kingdom's tranquility would be long gone. ( Remember when she went power mad in the Early strips, when Alexi was away ... )
Seems there are no perks. Fae do whatever the hell they want anyway, rulership means now you actually HAVE to do something.
What I was referring to also was, " If Wildy was a Fae ... ( ie, Wildy San, villianous ferret. egomaniac, born terror and troublemaker, brother is head of the Twinks, put her own brand (w.s) on Dan, and always is outragious in many other ways ... ). Don't think of a mild mannered Mab. Think of an egomanical Wildy ...
Somehow I don't get the last panel at all.
I just don't know what Amber wants to tell us and/or if there was pun at all.
PS: This list of stupid laws has a couple of laws that are not stupid at all. At least one is in effect here and I haven't heared anybody yet who said it was a bad or stupid law.
:mwaha Think what would happen if Wildy was Queen of the Fae Kingdom. For a taste of what could happen, return to comic #23, #24, #25, and #26 . Real Power Tripping ...

This law was repealed after the first time it happened, thus Mab's comment in previous comic. ;)
I have a law that I think would be great: No Charlines allowed in the Fae kingdom!
*Charline :< *
I have to say that Mab in the last couple comics has been drawn really well. I mean it, the art is just stunning.

:< It is not the laws that are really bad, but the fact that that is all you do. You are only a figurehead, no more ...
You get that comic and then you get "Dear June, please die in a fire, k?"
Ah, juxtaposition. How I love it.

I think that explains more than a few blue laws in this country.
Sadly, others can be explained through different, somewhat more depressing means.

I would like to say that Mab is looking much better imho. I don't know what it is, but she is just drawn cuter than I seem to remember. Not as cute as Nutmeg, but still cute. :giggle
Maybe Nutmeg exiled Mab after Mab gave Nutmeg the monarchy?
Exile would be a fitting punishment for something as horrible as giving someone the monarchy. An eye for an eye as it were.

I think the last panel is equating the Monarchy to fruitcake. It's just a gift that gets passed around way too many times.

There is a set number of fae. They have been and always will be. Age is meaningless to them unless it plays a part in their current 'role'.
There is ONLY one law there.... Thou Shalt NEVER be Predictable :raspberry
Yeah i saw how the monarchy get pass around be glad it's not a ugly tie or sweater *Hold on* I think those Faes would like that.

Thou shalt only consume sugar.
Wow. While this strategy does not come as a big surprise, I must admit that that was not how I expected the fae to deal with their monarchy. Wouldn't an authoritarian democracy make more sense then? All of the fae decide who they want to lead them, who leads with absolute power for as long as they want, then they step down and the fae decide who replaces them.

If I became King of the Fae, I would spend my reign interviewing rocks for the office of Minister Assistant to the Prime Minister. Spending the better part of a century learning of a rock's qualifications will keep me out of the hair of the other Fae. :)

At least now we know why Azlan spends so much time around Lost Lake. Serves him right for trying to cover up his Faemininity. :mowwink Afraid of his wife NOTHING.
:mowhappy So Nutmeg would not be really doing Mab a favour, If she offered Mab the throne. What would happen if one of the other characters at Lost Lake was offered the Royal office, even for a few years. Mab would consider this a novelty, and worthy of thought ... Either that, or the child is named " Mab " . ( A boy called Mab ? ) I wonder on all possibilities ... Maybe the " Mabberatzi " should follow this up ?
Hm. How old is Mab anyway? Cause she did say they give up the throne after a few thousand years...
And also, is it because she gave up the title of Queen that Mab was thrown out of the Fae kingdom?
The question of age is irrelevant. She's a Fae. They're immortal until they choose otherwise. End subject.
The query about why she got thrown out, though... Hmm. No idea. Let's wait and see. ;-]
It does not really matter that Mab once gave up her throne, because it was a bit of pain. If Nutmeg gives up her throne to Mab, Mab can do with it, including delegating non-fae to do duties, or anything else. Mab can even delegate the running and even the thinking of running a kingdom to others. All that Mab need to do is to be on one side of each coin, wave royally at celebrations, and do a couple of speeches, ( ghost written ) . Otherwise, she can do as she feels ...
We're not even sure if someone's allowed to be Queen/King more then once. I'd assume so since theirs only two something million of them, but maybe they have some rule where you're not allowed to be again until everyone has had a turn.
Also I'd like to put the whole freaking 'non-fae ruler' thing out there to Amber if she's around. I know she comes in these threads every now and then so Amber if you're reading this could you put this question to bed please? Is it possible for a non-fae to be made ruler of the fae by any means whatsoever?
