You know what I didn't realize? That CVRPG menu looks different when viewed in Firexox than in Netscape.
In Firefox...

...and Netscape...
So, what's going on?
I'd guess that Netscape adds a blank line after each element in a list...
Netscape adds more spacing, that's all. It's probably reading something I put in to control IE. It's not a huge deal, only mildly irritating looking.
What version of Netscape are you using?
Netscape 8.1.2
Alright, I'll do some checking, see if there's any known Netscape browser hacks for that series... worst comes to worst, I'll note the issue on the compatibility page I run on CVRPG.
Why are you using Netscape? :batman
I didn't feel like asking that question...
You really don't want to know the answer. :)
:batman
Is the answer porn? :3
That's your answer to everything, though, Amber.
(not that I'm saying you're -wrong-, now... :-] )
It's only her always her answer because almost invariably it's always the correct answer...
(and in Mab's case, she's always looking for porn, anyway, so she just assumes everyone else is too)
Well, here's the answer. I'm using a shared computer, and the people I'm living with prefer different browers.
Yeah, I could set up different user profiles for each, or separate user profiles entirely for Windows, but I'm too lazy to do that, so I usually use Netscape, even though I vastly prefer Firefox.
uhhh noob question here but. what's the diffrence? and is firefox free?
Uh.
Netscape is a company. They brought out Netscape Navigator, and it's big brother, Netscape Communicator (that being Navigator and the Mail app, which I forget what it is...)
After a while they started to go broke, and, for various reasons, released the source code to Navigator and Communicator. That became Mozilla.
Several people were less than impressed at the hefty memory footprint of Communicator, and split it up into the little web browser, and the little mail client, so you could run either separately. That's Firefox, and Thunderbird, respectively.
Now, of course, you have Iceweasel, which is the Firefox rebranded for Debian (some licensing issues - basically, the license on some of the images in Firefox is not compatible with the license for Debian, and doesn't let the Debian repositories pack it in such a way that it fits with their management, so they've talked it out and come up with this compromise. It's basically Firefox, with a new theme, more or less) and Navigator and Firefox and IE and Opera and Safari and .... Yeah. There's a few browsers out there.
Many of the Open Source browsers are based on the Mozilla engine - Galeon, Epiphany, Firefox, Mozilla, Iceweasel, amongst others. Opera is an oddball - another company that writes a browser that is free, but has adverts in it. If you buy a copy, the adverts go away...
Are you more enlightened, now? :-]
Short answer is: They're basically the same under the hood, with a few tweaks in how they look. Firefox tends to have all the new code in it, however, since it's open source and they don't need to promise anything about it before releasing it. (note that, despite that, it tends to be more stable and better supported and closer to the standards than most other browsers out there.)
And Firefox is more compliant then Netscape, even though they are both modeled on the same engine. Netscape is still cranking out revisions, last I heard.
I swear by Firefox. In fact, I'm using it now.
The extensions...ohhh the extensions!

I can't help it, but if the answer had been porn, I would feel less confused now.
Well it isn't porn, but I referenced the title CVRPG on a video game my character owns.

That is so awesome! I got a reference! Neat!
I'm gonna have to link you up on CVRPG when I do the comic tonight... So spiffy!
with one stroke of sword, Puff of air attack Grumpy Polar Bear and it vanish like ninja... I agree with Alec, I'd feel cheated also.
I forgot to pimp ya. I need to do that.
And yeah, I'd feel cheated too.
