Title: Timewasters.. (MMO's and the Like)
Post by: Turnsky on February 18, 2007, 08:27:18 AM
We all have them, that one game that we play the most of, Most MMO's are the general Culprit, although not everybody plays one, What's your favorite game to whittle away what free time you have under your belt?

Mine's World of warcraft, by the way, many an update made late by this little bundle of digital narcotics.  :P

I played wow for a while got to level 34 before realizing I couldn't care less about the game and stopped playing. I like the stories in the game but I just started reading the wow-wiki since thats free and wow isn't :P For other MMO's I could say secondlife which I am still on only not regularly and once I played the abomination called RuneScape (run and escape!) my lill bro still plays wow (burning crusade) I like watching him he has a lv 70 charater now and is trying to get his second lv 60 charater to 70 but watching that lost it's magic since he's practically doing 50% the same quests again.

ika pyro, ika pyro, flamezzz

Most recently?
MapleStory is installed on my computer, I beleive I'm level 23 there.
I have a character in runescape with around level 60 in all combat stats, magic, and archery, and varrying skill levels (you can look up Reese Tora if you want to know my actual stats)
I played WoW for about a year, and have(had?) a level 57 fighter on stormrage (and various and sundry other characters of lower level)
I played for a week on Everquest a few years ago (and wasted a 6 month subscription :cry )
I played for a month on Ultima Online before that
I played for a few years on Asheron's Call before that

The sad truth is that I don't have the time to really sit down and play games right now, because I have an almost full time job plus taking classes at my local college.  I haven't loggd in to my latest MMO game (MapleStory) in maybe a month.

I hang out on Trickster Online almost all the time. I've got three characters in there, but I tend to stay with one character when I go on. Haven't been able to go on much because of my brother. :/

a) City of Heroes/Villains. It's entertaining to be one or the other. It makes me happy.

b) I still, occasionally, play Ragnarok Online, since a certain someone sponsered my account. We worked together marvellously. It kind of imploded though.

c) Thinking of getting back into Space Cowboy Online, but I already have enough games to fill the void when I'm not writing or lazing. D:

I had a subscription on iRO that ran out a couple months back.  Didn't renew it.  I discovered XileRO (a free server) which has 1000x exp/job rates.  It's good for people who want to get into WoE quickly, and folks like me who want to get rich and make powerful characters as quickly as possible.  I've got a lv210 Stalker on there and I'm working on a Whitesmith...

Been pretty touch and go with Maplestory.  Haven't played it in a while though.

I've been using GameTap which I find to be totally worth the money.  It's about $9.95 a month, you need a credit card, but the latest game count is 826.  That's a little over one cent per game.  They're currently running Myst Uru Live, which I may try out for the fun of it.  They sparked my full interest when they added Deus Ex and Invisible War to the lineup.

And of course, there's Furcadia.

I used to be on PristonTales (don't think they're running anymore) and I think I still have a character on GunBound and Xiah Online.

Biggest timewaster ever: Civilization 3. Introduced the mantra "One more turn..." into my life.

Current timewaster: 9 Dragons. Atari martial-arts MMO currently being beta-tested.

I've got Civ3 laying around somewhere.  Back in the day I wasted many an hour on Alpha Centauri.
