Title: dswc comic #181
Post by: ilpalazzo on November 06, 2005, 03:52:44 PM
I think thats the number but whatever thats not the point.

I thought it was a great Idea to create the ax kids from Mario rpg and turn them to be captain planet lovers, just the best thing all day.

I'm hungry.

I've been wanting to do a Capt. Planet comic for a bit now. Other comics have done a reference to him at one point or another, so it just seemed like I was missing out.

I may actually bring them back eventually...

I can understand why you did it out of the Earth-Fire-Wind-Water-Heart Order (because the Axem rangers colors don't match up) but why "Air" instead of Wind?

Oh my, you remember Captain Planet too?

I have a confession to make.  When I was younger, I used to have a crush on Kwame.

I actually only watched the show like... twice. It was a really lame show.

This was Darkmoon here. Sorry bout that.

It wasn't lame!  It was overly preachy when it came to environmentalism to be sure, but the concept still kicked butt and some of the episodes were very strong.  And this was before the "anime invasion" so it seemed pretty original at the time.

I didn't like the show's visuals as much when it revamped, even if it did feature better animation.  I liked the old style better.

They revamped it? O_o

Captain Planet Neo: A new team of kids is called by Zordon to save the earth from polution. And now, they can merge their powers to form a giant Captain Planet made out of Prehistoruic animals!

No, it was a visual makeover and they changed some of the voice actors.  Also, the writing seemed to be a little more escapist afterward.  In the earlier episodes you had episodes dealing with drug use, AIDS, and even visions of an apocalypic future on occasion.  Some of these "darker" edges seemed to be smoothed out, although they did resurface at times.

I never really liked Captain Planet too much. Plus, when I was seven or less, I had a dream where he was beating me up or something. :|

Captain Planet always seem gay to me. Very gay. As in, the character seemed like he was gay.

Wasn't there an episode or two with him in drag?

Why do cartoon characters have to be pigeonholed as gay or straight?  Why can't they just be asexual?

He doesn't seem asexual. He seems gay.

Okay, given that Captain Planet is an artifical but sentient construct made of the five elements, how did he seem "gay" to you?  I can't even conceive of him having any sort of biological desires.

The voice and the haircut for me. Then the drag thing I have already mentioned.

Tis a pity. Wasn't the blond chick cute... in an underage sort of way?  :redrum

Constructs can be gay so long as they are imbued with a personality

Yeah. They were quite annoying in the game. Once you take them out, you need to kill the ship's cannon. The face behind the axem rangers.
