Today's comic (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Holidays_2006.jpg) got me... well... singing. I had a certain stupid song stuck in my head when I read it, and increasingly warped lyrics just popped in of their own accord. I wish I could sing it for you in my Jyrras voice, but, alas... no mic. If I get my paws on a decent karaoke arrangement by the time I get home in a few weeks, I might post a vocal version. Until then...
(To the tune of Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPaGQEskSKM), with apologies to... um... anyone who still has a shred of sanity left.)

Now I've fallen in love with a Cubi
Hanging out at Lost Lake Christmas Eve.
You can say it's good clean fun as always,
But that's not what the fans want to believe.
At the mall, we found a novel:
Evil genius versus spy.
Wildy filled the book with pages
Of me performing acts of death by shounen ai.
I stormed right up to her doorstep.
Oh, that book made me so mad!
But I just can't help but wonder
If she wrote about a chance I never had...
Now I've fallen in love with a Cubi
Hanging out at Lost Lake Christmas Eve.
You can say it's good clean fun as always,
But that's not what the fans want to believe.
See, I've always been the cute one.
People huggle me on sight.
Drive-by hugs just aren't the same as
Someone snuggled up in bed with you at night.
First I had a crush on Daniel,
But then I fell for Abel, too.
And don't forget about Lorenda...
Oh, frig! I'm such a messed up kangaroo. (KANGAROO RAT!)
Now I've fallen in love with a Cubi
Hanging out at Lost Lake Christmas Eve.
You can say it's good clean fun as always,
But that's not what the fans want to believe.
Now I find myself at Christmas
Underneath the mistletoe
Squished inside a Cubi sandwich
With the sexiest bishounen that I know.
All the fans around the forums
Want to know what happens next.
I'm afraid if I get lucky,
They'll be posting pictures all over the net.

Good actually...slightly disturbing, but good.
That is VERY funny :mowhappy Especially when you try to sing it out loud (sorta guilty :rolleyes ).
I wanna hear this as a song now. :mwaha
Poor Jyrras...disturbing, cute and funny song xD (all at the same time?)
EDIT: how do you even pronounce 'Jyrras'? Hard, to spell too xD
Quote from: TWINK on December 25, 2006, 09:13:34 PMhow do you even pronounce 'Jyrras'? Hard, to spell too xD
I've always thought it was something like Gyroscope and Cyrus. =/Gyrus/
Edit: OK. Why does xD show up as x D in the original, but as a smilie in the quote?
Nice jingle
that's somewhat brilliant.
...I want to sing it now. ><
...if only I actually remembered the tune
I love it. It has that disturbing feel to it you feel guilty but your not. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I second the motion to have this as a actual song. Who thinks Dan will sing it?
"KANGAROO RAT!" = LOL.
Would you believe it took me this long to really get the picture? (That is, the significance of those three people)
*Charline snerks!* That's so clever and funny! I love it! Picking on Jyrras is fun! >:3

I always go to 'additional options...' and disable the smilies, cause the xD smiley is fugly. :/

Some of those sites out there make you leap through multiple hoops - and then there's the ones that hide the password as you type it, but then show it to you on the next page in plain text. *sigh, shakes head*
i pronounce it as Jyrras (ji-rass)
Kudos. You captured Jyrras's mixed feelings perfectly. And the refrain is hilarious.
I pronounce Jyrras as じらす. :mowwink
On a side note, I don't think Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer was on TV this year....

May be how it's spelled, but for some reason, that's not how I pronounce it :mowtongue
good..now we need someone to sing it and edit it in with the music...
Jyrras got Ran over!!!! >( Nice pic of Jyrass, Dan, Abel, and Lorenda under the mistletoe though. :mowhappy My sanity is hard to lose. :)
All tremble before the unholy might of gothtk14's evil zombie thread! It lacks a pulse now, but the song is still hilarious.
I'm not a Zombie or evil. I'm a good person. I just don't like it when Jyrras gets hurt by someone (except for that one time that was hilarious).
The thread, on the other hand, was well on the way to breaking Rule #5, Section A.
Feel free to peruse that at your leisure. (That was a subtle hint. Take it.)
Which Thread? Mine?
this:
2. Used to indicate the nearer or the more immediate one

You've read the rules, right?
This thread (the one that you are reading now) was borderline dead. Your posting in it is close to breaking Rule 5, section A. Go read that. Now.
And don't do it again.
Since you were so kind as to resurrect this thread...
I've got access to my mic again, but I can't find any karaoke copies of the song that don't "help" you out by singing along with the chorus. :kittydepressed I'll probably have to dust off some MIDI software and produce my own version to sing. Given that it's no longer seasonally appropriate, however, I might not get around to it very soon... :mowninja

Most fans seem to favour ジラス (I rhyme it with "cirrus"), and people who knew the original Jyrras on Furcadia have reported that he preferred that pronunciation. However, Amber pronounces it ジャイラス (rhymes with "Cyrus"). That's currently the official pronunciation and the one that we have our voice actors use in the radio project.
Shush! No show my Hiragana/Katakana mistake!
:mowdizzy
Simply....wonderful. :)
I love it, Tezkat! :hug
