Title: Oblivion
Post by: Fex on December 23, 2006, 06:05:57 PM
I am kinda wondering who plays the next-gen game The Elder Scrolls VI: Oblivion

(Waves hand frantically) I do!

I find it better than Morrowind, even though I totally want an XBox 360 to play the game to its full beautiful potential.  My PC does it little justice.  I don't care if people say the PC version is better.   :mwaha

I've been addicted to it for a while.   :rolleyes  I got the main quest done already and am now pondering whether or not to actually go for the Dark Brotherhood quest...then again I did a few Daedric quests, it might not matter.  My character is an Argonian adventurer: custom class that is.

Argonians I think are good for beginners to the game.  They can breathe underwater and are immune to disease.  Plus lizard people are just cool.   :3  I love the fact that the weapons actually seem to work, instead of in Morrowind as your skills there determine whether it hits or not.  Shot an arrow straight through the head of a zombie once.  Muahaha!   :mwaha

Ahem...awesome game.  I'd recommend it to any RPG lover.

Oy vey... I'm sure there are  :rolleyes

Anyways, I, frankly, didn't like the game. My opinions are detailed here. (http://www.artwire.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=27)

The pixel porn made the game not boring.

oblivion seemed a little less diverse than morrowind, hell, in morrowind if you ran about naked, people would at least tell you to put some pants back on.. but in morrowind, you can be in your birthday suit, and they don't react.

of course, he was also a master alchemist and armorer and and I forget what else skills I had been training up...

I have Oblivion on the Xbox 360. It's totally and instilled in me a fear of unicorns. Also, for a long time my character was a vampire, me unable to do the anti-vampire quest. So I downloaded one of those things off of Xbox Live and cured it. Sometime between then and now, the disk quit working.

you know there is a cure in the game to. You had to talk with someone of the mage guild in the imperal city they would sent you to a count I thought skinrad and he gives you a place where a witch lives who can make you the cure if you get some grand gems

Vidars system is overkill. I've only got

AMD athlon XP 2600+
1.5 gb ram (cheap ddr1)
Nvidia 7600 GS (256 mb ram version)

and I can but everything on high without pop-up slowdowns or anything...
aka: Vidar = major overkill

>:3 My computer out sucks your computers.

Athlon 64X2 dualcore

256gb of free space =3

2GB DDR2 (i forget the clock speed, think it's 800)
160GB SATA 3.0 Gb/s

you win on everything else, but my ATI card may be better than your GeForce (since it was bleeding edge when I bought it last month...)

7600GS is the midrange Geforce 7 and designed for efficiency; it doesn't even come with a fan!
Once overclocked, it performs roughly the same as a 6800... so yes, an X1950 quite a bit better than it.

Oblivion is a great game. Like most games that ship with editors, I probably spent more time hacking the game than actually playing it, but that's part of the fun, too. You can even do your own voice acting.  :kittycool

The Dark Brotherhood storyline is by far the best in the game. My favourite mission was the delicious "Whodunit" in the locked mansion. It wasn't technically challenging, but I replayed it over and over just to try out all the combinations of death and terror. (I'm such an evil sadist.)

Untrue, European or the Netherlands one does.

Well, I once had a videocard that the fan died on, and they replaced it with the exact same model, but it had a heatsink instead. I'm guessing whatever you people get may or may not come with different setups...

So? Nvidia doesn't control what companies do with its card.
The reference 7600GS, however, does not come with a fan.
