Title: Greetings!(Turnsky's entrance)
Post by: Turnsky on December 20, 2006, 10:51:25 PM
since this is an intro thread, i figured i'd introduce myself here... or something, i'm terrible at introductions =p

anyways, I'm Turnsky, i sorta got the desire to come here after rereading DMFA after forgetting to bookmark it a while back (i have a bad memory for website addresses i don't use very often).
I'm something of an artist, myself, as well.

so... yeah.... hi.

=p

Welcome to the forum.  We're usually an active and friendly group...if there is any issues, feel more than free to PM any mod for assistence.

Except for Dmoon. He'll eat your soul then complain about the flavour. :U

Either way, welcome and hope you enjoy your stay. :3

You surprise me, DMoon. I would have thought a white wine would go better with Xze... but then what do I know...?

*ahem*

HI! Welcome to this place of strangeness.

Leave your remaining sanity (if any) at the door, in the secure storage provided, and hang on to your claim ticket if you want it back. An inventory will be taken of the storage facility in the new year, and any unaccounted-for sanity will be sold on eBay. (And why does the spellcheck not recognise "eBay"?)

*ahem* Sorry, got a bit distracted there...

What else? Oh yeah... Beware of talking boxes, squirrel-borne muffins, and anyone who tries to Tell you to disregard these warnings.

Have a welcome gift. *gives the new person a souvenir coffee mug*

Enjoy the weirdness your stay.

*waves, and vanishes in a shower of red and green sparkles*

If he's canid, the claws are for traction anyway.

Speaking of canid, that's an interesting comic there, Turnsky.  Nicely-drawn, although to be perfectly frank the storyline seems rather darker than I'm comfortable with.  Are you the artist or the writer?

I've just read through the archives.  It's a lot less grim than the first 10 pages or so make out.  With that intro, and the current page being of snipers, I was afraid it was going to be three years of combat and violence, the prospect of which I found somewhat off-putting.  But it ain't like that.  Definitely one to watch.

Greetings, infidel! I am on vacation right now, and I have lots to do (not... quite sure how that goes together...), so I am simply going to say that unless you know the bish, the lingo and the works of Frank Herbert, you must die in the pits of Hell!

...thing is only that it's really not that bad a place. So pull up a chair and keep us company! I'm Stygian, somewhat friendly creature of unspeakable horror and nightmare.

funny, you don't look lovecraftian.. and your avatar's jaw is far to square to be bishie..  >:3

yeah, my name's pronounced "turn-ski", it's an old nickname i had ages ago..

as for my comic's writing.. i'm not overly big on violence, implied violence, cartoon violence, slapstick, i like, but don't expect people (or their body parts) disappearing in a fine red mist anytime soon. Maulings and injury, fine.. but i won't be showing many (if any at all) corpses in the comic, per se.

[EDIT] *just spent this morning reading all of DMFA*

Yes.  I'm ashamed to admit that my own story is actually more violent than yours, although I try to lift the mood a bit by making it funny as well.

i can't  really do humor, it's beyond me, sarcasm and wit i can do, but it has to be just right, none of my comic's prescripted, y'see. i write it purely on the fly.  :3

the only "scripting" i do is when i sketch the panels, i have some kind of dialogue in mind, but that's about it..
i store it all on the ol' gray matter.
