Snow....
SNOOOOOOOOOOW! XO
Does Snow == Good?
Snow == Skiing
Skiing == uber-fun
uber-fun == Good
Therefore...
Snow == Good.
Q.E.D.
It's snowing a little in Michigan. D: And it's windy. Very windy. Very, very windy.
...Is Santa trying to ruin Halloween? D:
We shouldn't get snow, until the end of the month, if we're lucky. Dammit, I can't wait to ski. D:
NOOOO! 'A'
Snow means coldness, and slipping on the ice while trying to get to the mall, and... more coldness :cry
Then again, it does mean the mosquitoes will die a horrible, terrible, slow frozen death...
*emits a laugh so vicious and maniacal that it echoes through the bowels of hell* They have about five hours left in their miserable little lives...
I say Jack Frost needs kicking in the gonads

I miss snow. :< Washington doesn't do it right.
At least I'll be in Colorado for the holidays.

Well I will just rip something out bit by bit till I find something...Just like Kano...
It doesn't snow here. :paranoid Maybe once every ten years. No, I'm not kidding. I wish it did snow, I like cold weather.
Interestingly, it snowed the other day in Wellington, apparently.
... it's nearly summer, over there. They get snow once every 10-15 years, midwinter. The weather is crazy....
Eighty five is my ideal temperature, so I hate winter with a fierce passion. But, I love snow!
You guys need to work on a way for it to snow and stick during summer.
Gah, I would loooove snow. It's too bloody hot down here :<
I spent all of yesterday watching fires burn around the city and it's only the BEGINNING of summer >_<
I hate hot dry weather.
It's not summer yet...
I remember the good ol' days when bushfire season started in December and when I considered summer to be the wet season since it rained so damned much! :[
Oh, you wacky Southern Hemisphere types. Having Christmas in the summer. As if!
Santa only brings us coal... which is why everything catches on fire :<
He's so mean to us :cry
Well, if it makes you feel any better, I'm downloading the SuperCheap Auto 1000. If you know what that is. You Aussies have some awesome sports.
It's just the Bathurst 1000
The naming rights change too often for people to be bothered
Anyway, back onto snow...
It does NOT snow in this part of Southern California EVER! Not one time in 500 years!
This is a GOOD THING. :laugh
Californian drivers crash and die easily enough on RAIN! They could never handle snow or ice! :help
It never snows where I live. Well, I read that it snowed once in 1918, but not even my grandparents had been born then.
Some parts of the Andes still have snow, though.
Geez... I've seen snow in the middle of summer. Not exactly uncommon for me.
No snow up here in canada D:

I beatcha by a day, Amber. We had snow yesterday. It was all melted by the end of the day, but it was there! D:
Yeah. it was pretty much gone by the time it hit the ground...it just suprised me!
I used to live in Wisconsin, so seeing trick or treaters dressed up in heavy winter clothes isn't too uncommon. Guess I got used to Southern Indiana....
You better get the swat patrol father winter and half baked crew of snow pixis
Poor RJ has only ever seen snow once. And even then it was mostly slushy.
:< The cons of being an Aussie...
From what I have seen, snow is overrated. Water undergoes deposition up in the atmosphere at 0 degrees celcius and precipitates to the ground. The only thing noteworthy is that crystalline water is less dense then liquid water and therefore produces a larger volume per unit of H2O.
Agreed. You must have aced Physics class.

Physics was fun until I started into nanoscale, Mesoscopic and Nuclear astrophysics... then it became less so.
Mainly I did not look forward to another year of mathematical physics, fluid dynamics and integral calculus... my primary dislike was in the area of mathematics, it detracted from my appreciation of science and took up far too much of my time. When you are pressured into competition for the Fields medal, mathematics is no longer fun.
Plus, I used to enjoy being "special", when stacked up against the top minds in the fields... one becomes self-conscious of their own short comings and limitations... they cease being as special as they thought they were.

On topic, it looks like Cleveland is safe from snow for another week.
Oh noes, thunder! But no rain. And my blinds are shut, so i can't see if there's any lightning. Nope, nevermind. Literally when I finished typing that sentence I smelled wet pavement.
Hearing that Buffalo, NY got absolutely raped by snow last night.

odd... I've seen stuff of snowing at times on Santa Catarina, and that's farther to the north than most of Argentina
regardless, I've never seen snow myself :<
on the other hand i've seen some wicked hail. not too long ago we had the streets practically covered with ice stones
Yes, there was a huge hailstorm here last month. Lots of cars still show the marks for it.
Snow in Santa Catarina? Interesting. It must be higher up than I am.
No snow here. We are having an insanely late and long warm post-summer period.
Also, Amber, be prepared for winter year-around. According to Megatokyo, it's always winter in Canada.
Btw, does Canada have 6-months nights, like on the Northpole?

It snowed a tiny bit here in Prince Albert, just enough to make you feel used by a black man, y'know?
I've been waiting for snow for too long... I've been starting my Yamaha 350 every other day just to hear the engine roar.. *tries to mimick engine and ends up meowing* Its a beast :3
Snow
The room was suddenly rich and the great bay-window was
Spawning snow and pink roses against it
Soundlessly collateral and incompatable:
World is suddener than we fancy it.
World is crazier and more of it than we think,
Incorrigibly plural. I peel and portion
A tangerine and spit the pips and feel
The drunkenness of things being various.
And the fire flames with a bubbling sound for the world
Is more spiteful and gay than one supposes-
On the tongue on the eyes one the ears in the palms of one's hands-
There is more than glass between the snow and the huge roses.
I took some videos of the lightning. I was hoping to upload them to my computer and take some screenshots of the individual bolts, but the camera records using a Quicktime file which I can't open in Windows Movie Maker. :(

Depends on the codec and the size, but if they're small enough to put online, I could try and transcode them for you.
As my father would say....Its colder than a witches tit out there....
If anyone wants some snow, let me know. I'll fill Llearch up with some and send him by UPS.

Only in the most northern parts. I'm quite far south in Canada and although the days are a lot shorter during the winter, I still get some daylight all year.
Heh heh... I'm in Buffalo, and this is mainly a freak storm. It resulted in very thick lake-effect snow (the snow is unusually chunky) and is a pain to shovel and walk through. So that's pretty much shut things down for a while.
Oddly enough, many of the streets are clear, and the temperatures have risen considerably. The snow is just so thick that it behaves like ice and pulls down power lines. So there's still around 200,000 without power now.

The last time I saw snow I was in Rochester NY last year. It was fanstastic! There were three exchange students at the time and everyone though it was so funny how we reacted to the cold.
The mexican was so bundled up you couldn't see him half the time.
The Norweigan was bored and didn't consider 5 inches of snow to be anything impressive.
And me? I was frolicking through the hills pelting random people with snowballs xD
Soooo much fun...

I've never understood the infatuation with snow
Sure it's pretty to look at when it first falls, so long as your inside in the warm.
mind you cold doesn't bother me I like it coolbut snow is just a pain, it's heavy, cold and dangerous. (specaly cause drivers round here don't seem to slow down when theres an inch or more of it it, or worse slush, on the road)
TGH, snow is fun when you attack planks to your feet and slide down steep hills. That's why God invented snow.
never learned to ski or snow board... never wanted to I'm enough of a klutz on my own two feet
no need to make me try to balance going down hill at high speed
What to do during Canada's REALLY FREAKING COLD WEATHER?
A fireplace and mulled wine. :mowhappy
With regards,
Ted
I'm looking forward to the first snow of the year. I have to say though... my favorites snows occur when it's just cold enough for the snow to stick, but warm enough that it doesn't stick to the sidewalk, thus negating the need to shovel. >)

Yeah, and the ski patrol needs those snowmobiles to cart off the injured and stranded snowboarders.
(FYI, that was an Oooooh snap!)
I swear I was replying to something before that, but it goes just as well there I guess o.O

Well, there are the admittedly kickass 4-year old snowboarders doing amazing tricks in the terrain park despite being 3 feet high.
It's probably easier to learn to do the tricks when young and short, due to less surface area for wind resistance, less weight to sink into the snow surface, and a lower center of gravity, and it's easier to get yourself spinning in the air when you're small. The same applies to gymnasts, which is why most of them are really short. :)
so is snowboarding anything like waterboarding?
*runs off so he's not hit with something heavy*
Yes, but the waves are really really slow, and you can get someone else to paddle you up to the top of the first one.
I've never tried snowboarding, but I have gone sandboarding. It's the exact same thing, except you don't go as fast, it's hot instead of cold, and it hurts a helluva lot more when you fall (I would imagine).
Snow again, today. :< This time, it stuck around until after school. It's lasting longer and longer!
