Like the title says this is a topic about music facts many didn't know, as well introducing people to the best eras of music 60's, 70's, and 80's. Other eras always welcomed, love getting new music knowledge
First off let's start with some covers you may never knew were covers
1. The song "RESPECT" by the queen of soul herself Aretha Franklin from 1967 is actually a cover song. The original was done by the great Otis Redding done in 1965
2. Who could forget Jimi Hendrix, a God of guitar. The song "All along the Watchtower" in 1968 was a cover. The song originally was done by none other than Bob Dylan in 1967
3. Ah Whitney Houston a voice that gave us such hits as "I wanna dance with somebody" released 1987 and "I will always love you" however "I will always love you" released in 1992 is a cover, the original is performed by Dolly Parton in 1974
4. Ah Soft Cell what could be said about that group. Well their hit "Tainted Love" from 1981 was a cover. Originally done by Gloria Jones in 1964
I only did 4 for now, I have lots of other music knowledge even little known facts, why a song was written etc etc. I like to blab about music so I may just make a huge post to this topic or even answer burning questions people have. I mostly know 60's, 70's, and 80's music rock some country and some blues.
ahhh all brilliant songs and brilliant artists
Yes they were and fantastic covers. Heck stairway to heaven was a cover, Bob Dylan did it. I have so much knowledge.
Like "Girls just wanna have fun" 1983 Cyndi Lauper was a cover. Robert Hazard did original in 1979
Quot Riots "Cum on feel the noise" from 1983 was originally by Slade in 1973.
Also know that Ozzy Osbournes first music video on MTV was bark at the moon
Billy Squier's Rock me tonight was a music video disaster that Billy hated. Wasn't what he envisioned. Also was voted one of the worst music videos ever.
I have more just ask away or I can just post random facts and what are covers
whaaat i didn't know girls just wanna have fun was a cover
i have so many fond memories of making my dad listen to that on our roadtrips
Yep but Robert's version was based on male perspective. Cyndi didn't wanna do it originally but worked with producer Rick Chertoff to rework it to be a female perspective. The song "All through the night" was also a cover. 1983 Jules Shears did it for his album
Watch dogs which didn't even chart. He was honestly surprised when Lauper wanted to cover it and it ended up as a chart topper. Same year too she did hers in 1983 as well
