But it also provides an interesting look into the power of a Clan Leader. Aary took a hit of Cyra's emotions, and it seems to have left quite the impression, not just in having to deal with what happened but in that it is apparently still happening.
I'd also like to say that I particularly love all the expressions in today's strip.
Dest, Abel and now Dan, she certainly does crush on a bunch of unavailable people. If Dan and Abel do turn out to be related, I'm wondering if she had a crush on their common ancestor..

Considering her age, she might not have had enough time to develope a crush on that shared ancestor.
As for Dan being unavailable, let's not jump to conclusions to quickly. After all, you never know if Matilda might be into sharing. :P

If nothing else, she's culturally predisposed to be open to the idea. See for instance page 8 of her side story (https://missmab.com/Comics/Ma_009.php). While the narration is directly brought into question, what we see is very much implied to be more accurate, and we see them explicitly talking about being someone's "starting wives", and becoming "a primary wife", so the polygamous aspect of her old culture does seem to hold up to scrutiny.
Having said that, my read on the characters is that it probably wouldn't work out. Matilda might be fine with it, and Aary might be open to exploring it, but Dan feels like a very one-woman kind of guy to me. And that would cause a polyamorous relationship centered on him to collapse fairly quickly, even discounting the fact that in-universe he's only come around to even thinking of Aary as a person and friend (rather than a distrusted 'other') relatively recently.

I actually like that it's actually a very sensible and realistic way of handling the situation in that sometimes things are just very complicated and you feel like you need to sort out what your feelings are.
Also in that just because you might be 'in love' with someone doesn't mean its always going to be appropriate to act on that.

Dan is aggressively monogamous, or at least completely oblivious to women besides Matilda when it comes to pairing up.
He also seems uninterested in reproducing for the time being.
